EV News Broadcast
[On this edition of EV news, the reporter seems to be standing in the middle of a large open area filled with the hustle and bustle of people getting the space ready for a big event.]
Hello trainers, we are coming to you live from Celadon City, which is going to be the location for our region’s very own Contest Spectacular! The Hoenn Pokemon Contest board has sent in their experts to pull this off, and it’s looking like it will be absolutely stunning!
Here with us are the Contest hosts, Anne and Liz!
[The camera pans to two sharply-dressed women, one blond and the other short-haired and bespectacled, Anne with a Minun perched on her shoulder and Liz with a Plusle held in the crook of one arm.]
It’s great to be here, Susan. We’re excited to be here in lovely Celadon City, fashion center of the Kanto region... bit cleaner than Saffron, isn’t it?
It certainly is, Arceus knows we had to hold a competition like this somewhere that's almost as nice as our contestants are going to be.
Only almost?
Well, of course! Can’t show them up with the scenery, can we?
Oh, well if you put it that way! In any case, we’re hoping to get as many entries as possible, so all you listeners out there who've always wanted to show the world how great your Pokemon is, get ready to show off, because we’re expecting you up there, personally!
And your Pokemon! Don't forget them at home, that would be very awkward for everybody involved.
Oh yes, very awkward.
[The reporter laughs. Politely-bantering announcers from Hoenn is a breath of fresh air after having to deal with the Legend Seekers trying to shove into interviews constantly. Thank god those guys aren't interested in Pokemon Contests.]
I'm sure nobody's about to forget their Pokemon. But before we run out of time, can you give us any insight on why the Contest Spectacular has come to us? Why here, why now?
It wasn't on a whim, we can tell you that much! As vast and beautiful as our home region of Hoenn is, all those stuffy board members had to admit that Kanto had one thing Hoenn didn't-- trainers who were... out of this world!
[Nomel and her Minum feign confusion at that, turning to their cohosts with furrowed brows.]
Isn't that a bit harsh? There are all kinds of great trainers in Hoenn!
No, no, no-- I mean, out of this WORLD.
[A meaningful brow-waggle from Liz, and an exaggerated look of dawning realization from Anne.]
That's RIGHT! Johto and Kanto are the only known regions home to trainers quite literally visiting from worlds beyond our own. Now that's what the board of directors call untapped talent!
Gosh, I'd have to agree with the board, then! Hopefully we'll see a good number of those "out of this world" trainers on stage next week with their Pokemon!
Likewise, Susan! Likewise. With that, we really ought to bustle off and make sure all those food trucks meet standards, but to all you viewers out there, registration for the Contest Spectacular is officially open! Send us a video introducing yourself, get be here to Celadon Center by eleven on Friday morning, and you're as good as a star!
That's AM, not PM. Mark that on your schedules, trainers! Wouldn’t do to miss the whole thing.
Absolutely not. Showing up with your Kadabra the day later, wondering where everyone’s gone. It’d be awful. Get here on time!
[The reporter nods emphatically, then turns back to the camera as the two hosts rush away cheerfully.]
I believe that’s all the time we have for now, but tune in at eight to see a tour of the Contest grounds! There are all kinds of stalls going up, it’s looking like it’ll turn into a fair out here for anyone just here to cheer their friends on. We hope to see you all soon! This has been EV news, signing off!
[OOC Note: As we've been asked about it: This is in no way required, but if anyone would like to submit an introduction/application video for the contests, they are free to post it here!]
