He considers that while he turns the stove on. Oh, this is why he doesn't like cooking: the waiting. It's been two minutes and he's already bored waiting for water to boil.

He starts to say something then thinks: what was it someone always told him? Don't apologize, but try saying thank you. It feels weird trying to turn that around in his mind.
