[Newt appears on the screen again. She's back to looking nervous but this time for a different reason. She's sitting on the ground with stuffed ponyta toy in her lap.]

Hi...um I just had a question about....birthdays.

Mine was last week. But when I was home I'd already had my birthday for the year. So am I eight now? Or am I still seven.....

Was I six the entire time I was here and didn't realize it? I don't know how it works....I just want to know how old I am.

[She's confused okay.]

It doesn't matter, it's just a day. ....but I guess it means I survived another year. That's good. Surviving is always good.

Hi, Mabel. My name's Newt.

[So you know, your brother isn't the only one with the real name they will take to their grave.]

[Mabel grins brightly at that.]

Newt! That's an awesome name!! My brother has a cool name too--his name is Dipper~

[She looks around like she's checking for someone close by before leaning in close to her 'gear.]

It's because he's got a birthmark that looks like the Little Dipper!

[That gets Newt to smile a bit. Her name is awesome. Thank you for realizing this. However she tilts her head slightly]

....what's the Little Dipper?

[Remember that part about living way out in space?]

What? Oh! It's a constellation in the sky! Hold on--

[Mabel sets her 'gear down so she can grab the sketch book she'd gotten from the store, scribbling something on it before she turns it around to show Newt.]

[And there she goes. ....and she's back. Newt looks at it for a moment.]

Your brother has that on his forehead?

[Not rude sounding just, honest curiosity.]

That's neat. I don't think I have a birthmark.

Yep! He wears a hat to cover it because people use to tease him about it but it's really neat!

[Setting the paper down, Mabel smiles and shrugs.]

Me either. Not everyone gets them.

That's mean.

...my older brother Timmy, used to make fun of my name too. He's the only one who wouldn't call me by it.

[But yeah that's a topic that hurts because well ...they'll never have any argument ever again, so she moves on.]

If I had a birthmark, I'd want it to look like a newt. Newts are the best.

[Mabel frowns.]

That's not nice! Siblings shouldn't make fun of one another and if that's the name you like best he should have called you by it!

[All the more reason that she's going to make sure to extra nice to this little girl!]

Are they your favorite animal? Mine are pigs! And cats. I LOVE cats and pigs!

They are....I've never seen a real one though. I did a school report on them.

We didn't have any animals on the colony. Only the lab mice and they were in a part of the lab that was really hard to sneak into, so I never got to see them much.

My friend Ripley had a cat though, she was going to let me meet him when we got to Earth.

So all the animals here are your first experience with creatures outside of mice?

[Mabel's eyes are wide.]

I bet it's been pretty crazy for you! Have you found any newt Pokemon yet??

Well there were the killer alien monsters but...

....But yeah. It's....weird. I like them though. They don't kill people and when they join up with you, they're like family.

I have five so far but I haven't seen a newt one yet. If I do, I'll catch it.

[Okay. Mission time!]

We have to find a newt Pokemon then! I bet if we look through the Pokedex thingy we can find you one! And then we can both keep an eye out and eventually one of us will find it!

Really?....You'd help me find one?

Of course I would! If both of us look, the better the chances!

[Excuse her while she gets moving to find all her Pokemon so she can show off her felines to Newt.]

Okay! First up is Tabby Puss! He's a Meowth-- [Zoom in on the skinny little guy who blinks at the 'gear.] --then there's Miss Bonnie the Skitty-- [Mabel turns the 'gear to show the little pink feline who is outright ignoring Mabel since that is not her name.] --and this is Pussywillow! [And focus now on the glorious Purrloin that McGucket gave her!] These are the cats I have! I don't have any pigs yet though sooooo!

[She fiddles with her 'gear for a moment before sending Newt a picture of a Tepig.]

That's one that I'm looking for!

Oh wow....you really like cats.

[She approves. Ripley had a cat, therefore cats are good. She gets the picture of the Tepig.]

Okay. I'll tell you if I see one of these ones.

They're one of my favorites! They're so cute and fluffy!

[Mabel turns the 'gear on herself and gives Newt a bright smile.]
