[Of course Shadowmaru has framed himself dramatically. Sitting on the edge of a dock in Olivine, staring out at the water. Someone sort of parked himself in the city after Prom and hasn't... left yet.]

During the excitement, I was informed it was possible for those of us brought here to seek employment with the local police force.

However, it's only now that I've begun to wonder how to go about such a thing.

Is it possible for one to join their ranks? And how so?

I don't think it's really employment, per se, but there's a little academy over in Cerulean. I, uh... I took it when I was in Kanto last year and it was just a little Junior Officer type thing.

I went through it with my Arcanine just to see how he'd do as a police dog.

Ah! A police dog! [Wow look at him grin.] And how did he fare?

I wasn't, not really. But, uh... Yeah, it's the other one.

...They gave him a test that these international police forces use for some of their missions, and one of them involved breaching a wall. He, um... Sort of melted it.

Then... how do the current officers survive?

[Shadowmaru actually applauds.] Brilliant! I'm sure he's a very fine dog indeed. You must be exceptionally proud.

...The Junior Officers are kind of different than the actual Officers. Either way, I've never heard anything about becoming a full-fledged Jenny.

But... I am, yeah. They even offered to take him in if something ever happened where I had to give him up because they were so impressed with him. Right now, I've just been selling them any Growlithe he happens to have that I can't find homes for. And a couple of other Pokemon that they'd find useful.

That... hardly makes sense. What would happen if their officers retired?

[No one has told him about them all being named Jenny.]

Aren't you the most industrious person? But, I would hope nothing would happen to the poor creature.

Dropping in and asking one of the officers would probably be a good first step.

It would only make sense they did. Having been a model citizen, myself, I cannot say where they would be.

You've never even seen a police station by accident?

Um, in that case I'd talk a walk and ask some of the locals of whatever town you're in. They can probably give you directions.

I have kept a rather low profile. Not to mention, shortly upon my arrival, we were whisked away to a dance gone awry.

Asking one of the Jennys might be a good place to start. If anyone can point you in the right direction, it would be them. I haven't heard anything specifically about how to get a job with them but, given everything that's happened, I can't see why they'd object to more help.

I think it's a specific branch of the police force. If you run into the seemingly same woman in uniform in every city you stop in, that's one of the Jennys.

There's definitely more branches to the police force but I haven't done much digging into myself.

[Yeah guess who's never seen Jenny or any of her 500 sisters yet.]

Someone at the party had mentioned sea-based police work. So I can only assume there are more, as well.

You could just go to the nearest police station and ask, I don't think it would hurt your chances. Not sure if training a Kangaskhan and a Growlithe is optional or mandatory, though.

In most worlds, yes. But in a world where they can be found in fields and trained to police standards by just anyone, who knows?

The Growlithe line in general, Kangaskhan but those are rarer... If you want to find an officer to ask questions that's easy enough, they all wear the same hat and look identical.
