If you do, do you have a theory that explains why Andshrew left Persiannie at the altar to shack up with her recently revived long-lost evil twin sister? Because my Blissey and my Zangoose-

...Uh...I do not, but...if it's anything like the long-running trashy soap operas of Earth, the reason is likely at least thirty episodes back.

...Considering their interest and memory, we now have two options. Either there was no explanation even back then, or it was so stupid that they were hoping it wouldn't come true for weeks.

Or it could have been misleading. I can't say I've watched a lot of soap operas, since...I've watched a grand total of zero of them, but I suppose a quick wiki search should reveal some sort of clue.

I'm...guessing those two had gotten incredibly into the whole thing, huh?

Two or three months back, I suggested we all go watch a play that was at the same time as that week's episode. I had to hide the hole in the wall with a couch.

That's why I was asking. Someone in the fandom surely figured it out, and discussing potential theories might help them calm down a little. I hope.

Well, either that will help them see reason, or the show being retconned to suit their pairing preferences will. Sadly, I don't think storming a television show set and demanding the series switch gears is a viable option.

For dramatic purposes, really. These shows never end, from what I gather, so they keep having to come up with more ridiculous plotlines.

Andshrew's probably under mind control. This is an evil twin we're talking about.

That would justify the presence of that mysterious Abra my Pidgeot kept shouting at last week. I mean, I know a predictable plot would kill the show, but I think my Blissey was rooting for Persiannie to reveal her illegetimate clutch of eggs instead, which is why they're reacting so... virulently.

Oh I'd put money on it. They did something similar on All My Champions, only it was an evil clone, not a twin.

Oh Abras almost always mean mind control! Or time travel, for some reason...

Maybe that's where the twin came from! A time traveling twin.

Back home it would have been either an evil robot duplicate or an evil Vagan spy who went through plastic surgery. Compared to that or a clone, even a time traveling twin would be almost quaint. Would explain why Persiannah's fur is longer than Persiannie's, too.

We didn't have television where I came from. We had serial novels, though, and they were just as dramatically outlandish.

You know we won't find out for weeks, probably. They do draw these things out. I'm still waiting to find out who O'Finneon's father is, there hasn't been a thing on that in months!

I thought it was because he actually loved the evil twin sister, but after believing her to never return he figured being with Persiannie was better than being sad, and alone. [Hunk makes a soft scoffing noise.] To be honest, Andshrew is kind of a jerk. Persiannie can do way better!

Huh. I hadn't considered that possibility, but I have to admit it-

[And that's when the twin screeching gains in loudness right outside Ash's hiding place. How DARE you besmirch Andshrew's good name, after he helped that orphaned Rufflet find a new home? He's perfect for Persiannie and far too good for that evil hussy-]

Noted. Thankfully, the only one who cares in my team is my Cleffa and she's... actually rather pleased by the recent turn of events. [Suddenly, he drops his voice into a whisper.] It's because she's evil. She wants to the evil twin to win.

Well. That makes sense.

[Probably. He thinks.]

But is she hoping for her to marry him and live happily ever after, or for a long-term plan that involves crushing him along with everyone else? Because that smirk at the end of the episode was definitely shady.

To be honest? I think she'd be fine if the evil twin just blew everything up.

...A very entertaining twist, but not one that would be profitable for the showrunners in the long term. Maybe they'll keep it for the finale.

That's definitely more likely. Although, knowing the way these sort of soap opera shows work back in my home world, they could easily blow everything up, and then work in some "It was an alternate reality dream world thing!" and just, like, reboot a buncha stuff.

[Someone sounds a bit too knowledgeable about how these sort of shows operate.]

Considering the number of Pokémon with power over dreams, I wonder if thatkind of plot is considered too easy and cliché around here?
