Fun Violet Video Update

So, I've been in Violet City for a bit now. I must say, I prefer it to Cherrygrove. And working with Kaname-san has been a lot of fun. There's just one thing...The Sprout Tower... Is it a good idea for the center to be swaying like that? It seems like it may be unsafe.

Anyway, Cielo evolved recently. [A giggle] And I've been training with the rest of the team too. So I'm considering challenging the gym. Hopefully, it's not too different from the other pokemon battles we've participated in.

It looks ready to fall over... Do you think it's safe to go inside?

[Madoka has been staring at the tower for a while now. They've been in Violet City for a while, but she's nervous about climbing to the top.]

Everyone who comes through the Pokemon Center keeps saying we need to check out the top, but...

It really does...I'd like to go inside and see what everyone is talking about before moving on, but I'd rather it not crash around us. Other people seem to be acting like nothing's wrong about it though.

[Mami took a few cautious steps inside, but hovered near the entrance.]

Perhaps there's someone here we could ask. And if we can't get the assurances we're looking for, I say we wait until we both have pokemon that can help us out if something goes wrong.

Yeah... I do want to know what's inside. I wonder if there are Bellsprout in there?

[Madoka has been wanting to catch a grass-type Pokemon, but her team is a handful as it is.]

One of the trainers in the Center said we should train here before the gym. I hope the gym doesn't wiggle too.

I heard the leader trains flying types, so perhaps we have to battle on a really tall platform or get shot out of canons or something, and this is to help us stay steady in the face of potential danger? [Not that either of them were strangers to danger.]

I would assume there would be, but if not, I think I saw one right outside the city, so maybe there are more.

[Madoka swallows hard. Being a trainer is so scary, but...! For the sake of her team, who all believe in her...!

She takes a deep breath.]

Then I need a flying-type, right? Or, uh... Electric-types? Or was it Rock-types...? For the gym leader? [Or both?]

Perhaps not. Canons may be a bit much.

Electric, rock, or ice type pokemon and moves have a type advantage. Unfortunately, grass types like my Fiore, fighting, ground, and bug types are at a disadvantage.

I think your pokemon are all neutral for this gym, but I don't know their moves that well.

Hmmmm....There are apparently Mareep somewhere near here, I've seen quite a few in the center. So an electric type shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of if you're interested. I'm thinking I may have to rely on Bianca, but she is a bit behind Cielo and Fiore in terms of level...

[That's so like Mami. They've barely been together for a whole month, and Mami already has this Pokemon stuff figured out. Meanwhile, Madoka is still quite inexperienced. She struggles to study schoolwork, and her Pokemon studies are about as effective.]

Mareep are the fluffy sheep, right? They look so cute and soft! [Madoka is going to be in for a shocking surprise someday.]

Maybe... Just maybe! Maybe we should try climbing the tower. It could be like [she giggles sheepishly,] a test of courage!

They do, don't they? I bet they're just great to cuddle with.

[Mami giggles too.] A test of courage? I like that. Let's go then!

[Mami made her way to the stairs.]

Yeah, let's give it a go! I always wanted to try one at school, even though I know I'd probably cry... [She giggles fondly at the thought.] All of this camping is like an extended school camping trip!

I'm pretty sure the sprout tower is completely safe. It's just one of those things here that doesn't look safe but it is.

Really? I guess I should check it out at some point then....Apparenly people battle up there too?

That's right. There's plenty of people that go up there with grass types to do battle. And I think bug types might be up there too.

I earned the badge I have, there. It's not really that different from other battles. I did go and found out about what sort of pokemon they fought with there though, and that helped.

Oh? That's good to know. Do you know where that information is? About the gym leader's pokemon, that is. I know he uses flying types, but that's about it.

I went to look in the gym a few times before I went to fight there.
