Wow I certainly dropped off the radar for a while. Ever since, uh... the incident where people come and go rapidly.

In any case, I've got my first manga inked and ready to go. I found a publisher who was willing to pick it up for me, and they printed a dozen test copies of the series I was working on. I think I promised a few people a copy? It's been kind of a blur lately, a lot of long nights and such.

For anyone new, I'm Yayoi Kise, resident retired magical girl and manga artist.

Magical girl...?

[Elsa has heard of many, many things. But she's never heard that before- not as a title, at least.]

Mmhmm, it's a designation for a magical fighter, usually a young girl with special powers such as able to use pink energy beams or create ice. We're usually meant to defeat a big dangerous villain who threatens the world.

I'm a lightning user. When I can actually use magic I can cast lightning blasts.

Oh! Wow...

[Forgive her, it's just more than she'd expected.]

And you're so open about it, is it- it's not something you're meant to keep secret?

[Elsa can count on one hand the number of people she's told of her own powers, so for someone to be so open about it... it's not that Elsa keeps it a secret because she's afraid, but it's just how it always has been. And now she doesn't even have her powers, so it's kind of. Moot. But there's a certain freedom in talking so openly that she envies.]

It used to be I was very squirrely about keeping it a secret. Nowadays, that I'm here in another world where no one can use this information to hurt my loved ones? I talk about it all the time.

[She smiles, holding up a hand and twirling it around two fingers in a V sign.] I feel, because it feels like I can talk to people here, I should be open with my old activities as a 14 year old Legendary Warrior.

[That's a pretty logical way of looking at it when Elsa thinks about it. She nods, giving it some thought as Yayoi continues speaking.]

That's true! I suppose you don't really have much reason to keep it in, do you? Either way, I think your powers sound amazing! Were they hard to control?

At first, it was all instinctual. But as time went on, I learned how to apply my powers in different manners, from inverting magnetism to other abilities that allowed me to jump higher and move faster than before.

That's incredible! [She doesn't entirely understand, but enough so that she can comprehend that it's definitely clever and sounds impressive.] It's wonderful that you had the opportunity to explore your powers and do good things with them. [If only she'd had the chance to do that herself, but. Well, that's in the past and she's doing enough with her life now to make up for it.]

This might be a strange question, I'm not really sure what's normal here... but....what's a manga?

A manga is a comic book, read right to left and published in Japan. The first mangas appeared in the 50s if I'm not mistaken, and became a well published medium internationally.

Ah....probably not in the world I'm from.

[Or if they did, they got purged over the years before she was born.]

Or at least I've never heard of those types of comics. I am a comics fan though, so that sounds interesting. What sort of one are you writing slash drawing?

[Fallout was a pretty ridiculous situation with old media yes.]

I'm writing a magical girl series, based around a young woman who has obtained magic powers and is fighting against an evil corporation that is run by monsters who want to steal positive energy and turn it negative for their leader.

[You just can't think about it too much.]

Once I figure out how the money here works, that is. I came from a place where I recently figured out how the bottle cap currency works.

I've got about a dozen preview copies. I can give you one of them since it's not being called for yet.

It's only a couple of chapters but I have a full book coming out at the end of the month. Bottle caps?
