Summer is well underway, and Viridian City is bustling.

Particularly so, at the moment. A number of traveling groups are all converged on the city at the moment, entirely by happenstance.

Lust has been in the city for a bit of time now, enjoying the library and the forested scenery and leisurely training her newer Pokemon. She plans on taking on the Pewter Gym, when they finally rouse themselves to move on. And with Envy and Heather in town, as well as Boone and his companion arriving...all the more reason to stay.

There's certainly more than enough to do in the city, between the library and the battle clubs and the city's enthusiasm with sports. The library enough would be enough to hold Lust's attention...

Which is why she can often be found there, when not training or relaxing in one of the verdant, shady parks in the city.

The city's always pleasant in summer, with the copious amounts of shade. And it's on the quiet side, despite the battle clubs.

[They seemed well contained, the city itself a pleasant and relaxed one. The dominating library has something to do with that, she's sure.]

And there is a picture show theater here.

Yeah. It's... peaceful. Not used to that kinda thing, but it's nice.

[He arches an eyebrow, intrigued.]

Maybe I should've explored a little more, I didn't know that. I'll have to check it out.

It gives you a chance to enjoy some peace and quiet. God knows we all need that sometimes.

[Even here. This world has its stresses and upsets and crises, they were simply...less than what Lust was used to.]

You can usually find one in every town, tucked away somewhere. I can take you, if you'd like, some time while we're here.

[He seems pleased by the prospect of watching a movie.]

Can you take pokemon?

[He'd like to bring Pointy, ideally. He doesn't go anywhere without his giant hellscorpion now.]

Oh you can take Pokemon everywhere, here. It's practically expected.

[They're everywhere, and life revolves around them. Trainers took at least their starters everywhere with them.]

Some of mine quite like movies, actually. I still can't believe you haven't seen any television. It was one of the first things my brother showed me, here.

Haven't really had anyone to show me things here.

[At least, nobody besides Lust.]

Guess we'll see if Pointy likes movies, huh?

Well, I can show you plenty of things while we're here. Including the movies. Have you had popcorn?

[As they're chatting, Lust joins him properly, settling in on the grass. The trio of Espurrs are on her immediately, swarming over her lap.]

[They're still staring at Boone.]

No, never had it.

[Pointy sees the Espurrs on Lust's lap and starts trying to shuffle his way onto Boone's, which doesn't work because he's not a small scorpion anymore. Boone shifts where he is, holding an arm up to block the Drapion.]

Pointy, goddammit, come on. You're too big. Sit here.

[He pats the ground next to him.]

It's the traditional movie going snack. It's very good, especially with butter. It's one of Guttle's favorite treats.

[Lust chuckles at the scorpion's antics and urges the Espurr off of her lap. They grudgingly clamor down, though they're long to tear their eyes away from Boone to look at Pointy instead.]

[When they do, it's in perfect unison.]

Go on, why don't you make friends? These are Berlioz, Toulouse, and Mehitabel.

I'll have to try it. Maybe when we watch that movie.

[Oh, thank god, they're not staring at him anymore. Boone pats Pointy on the back and nudges him towards the Espurr.]

Say hey, Pointy.

[Pointy waggles his claws and lets out a happy cry. He does kind of loom over the Espurr a little, but he doesn't mean to.]

Oh we have to have popcorn, it's traditional. And a giant paper cup of cola.

[These are essentials, when it comes to the picture show.]

[Slowly, the trio of Espurr advance on the Drapion, clearly not bothered by his size. Now their synchronized, unblinking stares are focused on the scorpion instead of his trainer.]

They even remind you, before the film starts, to get your treats in the lobby. ...with a rather twee Swirlix mascot singing about it. It's irritating, but it does the job.

[Pointy clearly doesn't mind, and even tries to lower himself to the ground more so he's not towering over them. Boone gives the pokemon a faint smile and looks back to Lust.]

Sounds good. Get to try popcorn and watch a movie at the same time... sounds like a good night out.

[It helps that he likes Lust, too. He wouldn't want to go with someone he didn't like.]

When did you wanna do it?

Whenever you've the time, really. I haven't any plans. I've no idea what's playing currently, but it's easy enough to find out.

[There were listings, at the theater and on the gear network. And as it's summer, there's likely some action thriller playing. Boone would likely enjoy something like that - who didn't enjoy large explosions?]

[The Espurr arrange themselves in a loose semi-circle around Pointy to investigate him properly, sniffing cautiously and staring intently.]

Might be a little soon, but if you're not doing anything tonight.

[He isn't sure why it suddenly felt a little awkward to be asking, but outwardly he doesn't show any signs of it.

Pointy delicately picks up one of the Espurr with his claws, and deposits the pokemon on his back. He does this with all three of them, before standing up tall again and starting to walk around, letting out another happy roar.]

Tonight? No, I'm not doing anything particular. I'll find out what's playing.

[It would be nice to go to a movie. And she is eager to see what Boone thinks of them - he has even less frame of reference than she did, when she first came here.]

[The Espurr let out small 'purrs!' and 'essss'es of surprise as they find themselves deposited on the back of the Drapion. Berlioz and Toulouse snuggled together where they're set, but Mehitabel...]

[The pink bowed Espurr attempts to clamor up onto Pointy's head.]

Good. I'll be happy to watch whatever you think is worth watching.

[Since Lust seems to think hey're good though, he's kind of excited for it.

Pointy lets the Espurr climb onto his head, apparently not bothered in the slightest by it. He roars again and stomps around, pleased.]

Tonight it is, then. I'll meet you at the Center, we'll go from there.

[Well, this was a pleasant little development. She can't believe Boone's been here as long as he has without seeing a single movie or television show.]

It goes without saying that they heavily feature Pokemon, and the relationship between humans and them.

[Speaking of Pokemon...Mehitabel has settled herself on Pointy's head and is staring ahead in fierce determination. She finally has a steed worthy of her! Now she can realize her full potential! She hunkers down on all four paws, a tiny lavender gray fluffball on the Drapion, and issues her commands.]
