[Some of you may notice that it's late. Like, past 1 AM late. And yet here's Yu making a video post, because he has decided it's a question he needs to ask. There's a sleeping Emolga just laying flat on his head like a weird hat, but he doesn't seem to care.
He looks like he's about good to go to sleep himself, but he carries on.]
So I was thinking. Since Pokemon are like, actual living sentient beings here, just how cruel would it be to make a quick trip back to like, Pallet, and train my Mienfoo by having him fight a bunch of the Normal type Pokemon there? Mienfoo has a type advantage there, and a great move arsenal from the breeder (shout out to Cecil for that, by the way), so it'd be the furthest thing from a fair fight, probably. So, like... Is it cruel to do that? Is that something that has been discussed in the past? Did anyone reach any conclusion? I'm just curious, really, I'm not even sure how I feel about it myself.

I don't think it's cruel if the pokemon don't mind. Training with Pokémon who won't hurt your pokemon any more than is necessary isn't bad.
Then again, I'm not that kind of scientist.
Video
So what kind of scientist are you?

[He's raised dozens of Pokémon to level 100, he knows what he's talking about.]
That said, training near Pallet will hardly be efficient, unless it's a temporary measure solely for early levels.

Guess I got a bit caught up in overthinking about leaving a trail of fainted Lillipup and Rattata behind.

If they are scared and trying to run away? Then it's bullying.
If you offer them the chance to fight and give them a shot it's...well it's still not fair but at least it's not bullying.
But ultimately it'd be pointless because the pokemon in that area are really low level. At least they were when I blew through a few months ago.
Video;
But that's a good way to look at it. The distinction of whether or not they're running away, I mean.
Re: Video;
It's like, pokemon usually like to fight. Hell some of them live for it. But there's a fine line between pokemon fighting for fun and just straight up abusing em. That's why people hate Team Rocket so much.
And that's why if you win and catch a pokemon that really loves fighting you'll have someone even more loyal and strong on your team ya know?
Video;
Better than stressing out a Pokemon that has to learn to get through battles, right?
Re: Video;
So do you plan on going for quality over quantity? Some trainers wanna catch as many as they can, other's prefer to specialize.
It doesn't hurt to have an aesthetic to match your team after all.

Luckily some pokemon are incredibly versitile, like water types learning electric attacks and such.

Oh well, plenty more TMs where that came from.

It wasn't till I got my Togepi last year that I could use it at all.
