[Video + Text] [002]
[The first thing you'll hear is crying. It's not Connor, though. The video is focused on a Yamask, hovering just slightly above a neatly made bed, looking at the mask in its hands and sobbing. A Popplio is trying to pat the pokemon reassuringly, and a Growlithe is bringing it random items from the room, but even with these odd things piling up around it, it continues to wail.]
Does... anybody know how to stop these pokemon from crying? He's been at it for a few hours now. I know I could just put him in the ball to stop the sound, but I'd feel bad about just leaving him to cry.
[The video switches off abruptly, since Connor has said all he thinks he needs to say. Except he totally hasn't, so later a text is sent out:]
Does anyone know where I can find a Porygon? And is anyone breeding or selling a Pikachu?

You can win them at the game center in Goldenrod. I haven't seen any in wild but I might have missed them.

[But the Porygon interests him. Hank had said he'd wanted one, but Connor might see if he can get one for himself, too.]
Is it hard to win?
no subject
[And something to take her mind off of things.]
And they agreed to come with me and now we're friends.
no subject
[A Magnemite zooms closer to the camera, curious about the Porygon. Connor tilts to accommodate the both of them in the frame, smiling at Newt's story.]
Bishop is a nice name. How did you choose it?
no subject
And I read that Porygon are kind of like A.I pokemon and Bishop is an android.
no subject
I was an android before I came here, too. Have you met Hank? He told me about you.
no subject
[Congrats, you made the quiet girl smile.]
My name's Newt.
no subject
Hello, Newt. Oh, this is Crockett.
[He introduces the Magnemite, who had been pointedly nudging him in the side of the head until he did so.]
What is Bishop like? The android, I mean.
no subject
[She pauses and thinks for a moment.]
It's hard to explain because I met him when everything was going really bad...and complicated. He came with the marines to the colony where I lived. He was quiet and mostly did science things. But he's really brave and smart. He saved my life twice and came back to rescue us when Ripley thought it was too late and he'd left because the processing station was going to explode.
He also survived everything, even after he got ripped in half. I was hoping to get to know him better once he got fixed up when we got back to earth, but then this place stole me here away from my friends on the spaceship.
[She loves this place, she really does. But the fact that it took her away from her new
familyfriends, just as they were safe, is a sore point.]He's my friend.
no subject
[Connor isn't sure how long he could survive that. It would depend on what specific biocomponents were lost or damaged, he supposes. Theoretically, he could survive until someone else put him out of his misery. There aren't really any vital biocomponents below the waist.]
You say spaceship... you were in space?
[He seems genuinely curious. He's spent many nights looking up at the stars now, between New Bark and Cherrygrove, and he'd often wondered what was really up there.]
no subject
[The alien movies laugh at your concept of is that even possible.]
Uh-huh. I grew up on a colony, on a moon called Acheron. I was the first person born there. Before I came here it's the only place I'd ever been.
no subject
[It seems so... empty. At least, from down on Earth.]
no subject
We usually played inside, and in the ventilation shafts or sneaking into places we weren't supposed to go, to explore. It was alright. We used to get in trouble for that though.
[And getting too close to stuff she doesn't like to talk about. So let's shift away from mentioning her brother/family to...]
The colony is gone though. I'm the only one from it that survived the aliens and then the marines showed up and the colony exploded. Four of us got away. ....I wanted to see what Earth was like. It sounded nicer then Acheron.
[It's the alien universe, it probably isn't. Also yes, everyone but me died is a lot easier to talk about then even mentioning her brother.]
no subject
The aliens? Were you attacked by them?
[He's been alive three months, and he's already having to contemplate aliens. Not that he ever would have argued against the idea of them being possible, but... knowing they're a reality and a threat is a lot to take in.]
no subject
Yes. The company sent us to explore a spot on the moon where they knew there was a crashed ship with the eggs in them. ....then the egg hatched and ...they got the thing from the egg on their face and it puts a baby alien in people and then that bursts out of their chest and becomes a bigger alien....
[There is a ghost pokemon floating up behind her now because chestburster talk tends to mean she'll have nightmares later, so the gastly is just going to listen in.]
They're not....they're like animals, only evil. They don't care about anything but making more of themselves and killing. Once they made a lot, they attacked till everyone died or were taken away to make more of them. ...I only escaped by hiding in the ventilation shafts for weeks until the marines showed up.
[And then they mostly died too.]
no subject
It sounds horrifying. I'm sorry. You're very brave, though.
[He's kind of glad that she's in a place like this for now. It's nice here, people can't die, there are no aliens.]
How did you survive for so long in the vents?
no subject
Oh, I just hid in the ventilation shafts where they couldn't reach me. I'm small so I can get in places big people can't. I had to sneak out for food and stuff but they weren't always there. I just had to be careful to stay in the really small areas when they were. Plus I played in the vents so much growing up, I knew where everything was from inside them, so I knew where to go.
[She became only somewhat malnourished! And semi feral.]
no subject
[That's good. As brave as he thinks she is, he doesn't think Newt would have lasted long otherwise. He nods to the Gastly by Newt's head. Maybe he should try to take her mind off this conversation now.]
Your friend is interesting. What is he?
no subject
[Oh yeah. Newt would be 100% dead if she hadn't been a vent crawling master and small enough. It's why she still retreats to vents when things go wrong. Like the prom attack. Vents are were you are safe.]
He's a Gastly. A ghost, poison type pokemon. I named him Spooky. My friend hatched him for me because he has a move that lets him eat nightmares. So now I don't have as many bad dreams.
[Spooky nods proudly and floats down to sit on Newt's head.]
no subject
[It's only polite to greet the pokemon, right?]
I wasn't aware that nightmares were something that could be eaten. I've never had one before, but they sound unpleasant.
no subject
I didn't know either. But my friend told me about it when I told him I had really bad ones. They don't mind eating them either, I asked.
[Spooky nods. Yummy nightmares.]
They're terrible. I told Hank to warn you about them because he said you never slept before. And nightmares can be really bad. Sometimes you wake up screaming or thinking you died, or its really hard to breathe and you start to get even more scared of everything and it's really hard to calm down again.
[Nightmares that give you panic attacks, not that she knows those are what she got.]
I hope you don't get any of the really bad ones.
no subject
[At least, Newt's nightmares do.]
Do you have any pokemon to comfort you when you wake up scared?
no subject
Yeah, if Spooky isn't there to eat them, or before I had him. I have Ripley my starter pokemon. She's a Growlithe and she looks after me. She used to sleep in front of the bed when I slept under it, so nothing could get me and I felt safer.
[Because sleeping on top of beds out in the open is how you get killed.]
And the rest of my team is really nice. I try to only have pokemon on my team who want to be here. So everyone's friends with each other.
no subject
[He won't ask about sleeping under the bed. It's obvious she feels safer that way.]
I hope my team become friends with each other, too. They play together a lot, so I think they are.
no subject
They're great. I'm really glad I had her when I first woke up here. It was really confusing.
[When you're supposed to be asleep on a spaceship and wake up on a different world, and no sign of the spaceship and your friends....]
That's good. Oh there's a nice lady named Botan. If your pokemon ever act weird or mean, you can ask her to talk to them. She can talk to pokemon and likes to help people get along. She helped me once.
