AoV House - Closed to residents

Matt hasn't been around much. In fact, he's been notably absent for a few days. His pokemon have been mostly absent as well, keeping him company at the observatory while he works.

However, at about noon one day, a note slips under Pidge, Shiro, and Hunk's doors.

Hey,

Meet me in the living room when you get this. I'd like to ask your help on something.

Anyone else in the house is welcome to ask what the heck he's doing or what's going on.

Observatory

It's almost certain to find Matt at the observatory, looking exactly like the nutty ~~pokemon~~ professor that he is. As always, he's happy to talk to anyone, or answer questions about space, but there's a slightly-excited undertone to his entire manner.

[Yes, he's noticed the absence. Really noticed it. Maybe a little too much -- out of worry. And, you know, the fact it's harder to sleep without someone there.]

[Needless to say, he's pretty much ducking out of his room as soon as he gets the message. A little haggard, but still, curious.]

Hey -- what's going on? You said you needed something?

[Matt looks up, grinning. He looks tired, but the kind of tired he was at the Garrison when he'd been up for a few days doing something exciting. He's currently on the couch eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.]

Hey! So... I think I found something. Something big.

[There is something ridiculously adorable about that sight. Or maybe he's just missed him enough to where the picture in the living room would be endearing no matter what.]

[He crosses the room before he says anything, sitting next to him.]

Really? Is that why you've been so busy lately?

Yup.

[He grabs a notebook from the floor, and flips it open to a page with some scribbles and a star chart.]

It's a meteor shower. But not just any meteor shower. It's... a Minior shower. And it's going to be huge. All kinds of Minior just... there.

[He's beaming, bouncing a bit on the sofa.]

There's also a chance that other space-based pokemon will be falling as well. So, I want to throw a huge party at the observatory, for people to come watch it.

Miniors? The little guys we found?

[That sounds amazing, really. A whole bunch of them, just there. Falling out of the sky. He figured he'd just gotten lucky finding the ones he had...]

There's more up there? Like what? [Tell him more!] That sounds amazing! I'm so proud of you.

How can I help?

Yeah! They are meteors of a sort, so I totally get why you can get a bunch of them at once. From one account that I found at the back of a filing drawer, it's absolutely stunning. I wonder if I could find one of the special different-colored ones.

[He's grinning, and leans against Shiro a bit.]

Well, I don't even know where to start to do something like this, so I might need to bounce some ideas off of you, and, um.

[He blushes bright red.]

I might need help moving some things around. I promise I'm not just here for your biceps. You're welcome to come talk about space too!

[That all came out so wrong.]

That's amazing! You know where they're going to fall next? How long?

[If he wasn't proud of his boyfriend before, he sure is now. Leave it to Matthew Holt to go and find a discovery from the back of a drawer. He loops his arm around him, listening.]

[Grinning.]

[Especially when that little correction comes out. He just has to laugh, tightening his hold.]

You can use any part of me you want, don't worry. That includes my brain, if you want me to try and lecture.

I'm -- just so proud.

It's going to be about a week for the entire thing. The last night, though, is going to be spectacular. I just... hope people will be as excited about it as I am.

[He leans against Shiro, an utterly wicked grin spreading across his face.]

Any part of you, eh? Well, some of that we should save for when we're alone....

Are you going to tell me, or just leave me in suspense? [Another laugh, another squeeze -- they're disgusting.] They will be. You got a lot of attention at the Contest. You've been working really hard.

You've earned this.

[He has no idea what he'd said a minute ago.]

[So that look, and that statement has him frowning a bit. Why would they need to--]

[... wait.]

We -- [OH. Well. There goes the blush. All the way down to his collarbone.] -- I didn't mean it like that.

[Matt cracks up loudly, just grinning up at his boyfriend.]

I know you didn't, but if you give me an opening like that, I have to take it.

[He wants to surprise Shiro with the power of the Minior Shower, so he avoids the question.]

You're the worst. I can't believe I'm in love with you.

[Yes he can. Because he's laughing as he says it.]

Seriously, though. Whatever you need me to do.

Well, I could leave, you know.

[He starts to move, as if he's going to leave the couch, but after a moment, he leans back against Shiro.]

Ok, I can't even pretend that. I don't think I could ever leave. I'll let you know what I need when I figure out more of what I'm doing.

You better not.

[If you leave, he's going to cry. But that's not actually an issue. So, instead, he plants his face in the curve of Matt's neck, maturely making a raspberry noise.]
