[The video starts off blurry, before focusing on a blonde teenager sitting back against a tree with a Shinx’s tail flicking up into the view of the camera every so often. Soft purrs could just barely be heard over the background of other forest sounds, but the blonde girl paid no attention to any of it.]
Roxy here. So, I woke up yesterday to find that I am now, well, here. In this world. Given food by a nice lady I don’t know and herded out the door like a cross-eyed cat, and then the next thing I know I’m actually handed a pokemon called Shinx who is just the most adorable thing I’ve seen so far in my life.
And then a whirlwind of information gets thrown at my face like yes okay I’m supposed to be gatherin lots of the pokemons and breedin them and making stronger ones that I could then give ‘way to other breeders or trainers for money, but what’s the way you get to that point. Do you travel a lot first? Do you make the pokemon you first get, like my lil Neon here, stronger? Is there a specific method to this that someone has found out works well?
[The girl does look frazzled. Her hair doesn’t look brushed at all and her mouth was set into a straight line. Even with Roxy trying her best at remaining both calm and neutral in her facial expression, there were slips. A twitch into a frown here, her eyebrows drawing together there.]
But see, thing is, I don’t know much about what to do from here, at least not what to do first thing. From the sounds of it bein a trainer is pretty straightforward but I’d… rather not?
[This came out as more of a question than a statement like how she meant it to be.]
And like, I’m just feelin kinda lost here so whatever tips and tricks of the trade people can give me, either by way of a text response or another video or however you feel like doin it, I’d appreciate it. Just a bit overwhelmed, is all, not like I’m panickin here.
[She doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do, and toward the end one might discern that she’d wanted to say more, to ramble even, but the moment passes as quick as it came.]

Holy shit, Roxy, is that really you?!
[If the voice didn't tip Roxy off, the familiar face that now fills the screen should. She's a couple years older than she should be, but that is definitely Jane Crocker, and she is surprised and beaming and a little flushed but altogether very excited.]
Oh my gosh - oh gosh, you're - good golly gracious!! You must be back at the beginning of things, right? Route 29? I think I can do the transport-y thing to get close and fly the rest of the way to meet you - oh my goodness, I didn't think anyone would come back!!
Anyway, she was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes when her brain decided to register who exactly had responded to her.]
Janey!!
[Her squeal woke up her Shinx with a start as she fiddled around with her Gear to get everything set up to reply back. Once it was set up, Roxy could hardly sit still she was bouncing and her Shinx, being the curious cat she was, was batting lightly at her arm to see what all the commotion was about.]
JANEY omg okay I don't know what you mean by back, sadly, but you're here too! Oh shiiiit that means you've been here awhile? Yeah , fuck Janey you've grown some haven't you? I honestly don't care I mean I'll likely make it over to you eventually right? Where are you at?
[She tilted herself and her Gear a bit to show her Shinx on screen, who looked at it with wide eyes, stopped only by Roxy's arm in investigating further, though she was stretching her head as far as it could go.]
And this is Neon, isn't she the most adorable lil thing? But seriousness though if you want to pop on over to where I'm at I will have zero complaints to file to the best friend committee.
[Roxy ended the clip there and sent it off to Jane specifically. She let out a huge sigh even though she did not want her nerves to calm down right now, she wanted to hug one of her best friends in the world for all she was worth instead. It'd only be a matter of time, especially if Jane used one of the teleport things she mentioned. She just had to wait it out.]
I'm out in Goldenrod City! We've - I've got a house here, a-and so many people live in this area that are from other worlds, too, it's so crazy! I know this all sounds like complete hogwash coming from me of all people, but there's - there's so much about this place that's unbelievable and weird but also true!! And oh, you're going to need to be filled in on it all over again, huh? That's okay, we'll have time! Though I'm guessing if I teleport to Cherrygrove and then we fly...it's going to take me at least a day or two to meet up with you, but it'll work out, it will! And then we can come back up to the city by walking, that'll take a few days, but there's other places along the way we can stop and-
[The feed clicks off - though likely on accident, her 'gear probably bumped something as she was stuffing the essentials into her backpack.]
Watching as Jane gave her estimates, and rushing all around enough that the video cut off brought a smile though. She clicked on the video for herself as she walked, speaking in time with her thoughts, which usually resulted in her rambling. Now was no exception.]
I didn't know you had a house now, though really if any of us, us four you know, were to get a house first and do normal adult things I would have written you down without a second thought, for the first one to do it. Janey, hon, it's not hogwash. No hogs are being washed here. None of them are gettin a bath today they haven't even been outside enough to get dirty. You just had to see a bit to believe, and I bet this has been a whole lot of seein for you, hasn't it? I can't believe though that I, or another version of me at least, was here and yet I don't get any like, residual memories. Not even a drop of whatever she had gotten here. Ah well, I bet you'll do great fillin me in on all the deets. I mean we could meet up in Cherrygrove if that'd be easier, I don't mind at all, though, you did kinda cut out there after sayin there's places we could stop along the way like and then you left me hangin like what places are worthy of the great jane crocker, hm?
[Video] this tag is so late and that is all my fault OTL
[She giggles a little at Roxy's rambling as she continues to get ready.] Oh, all of the places are worthy! At least, I hope they will be for you, too - shall that depend on the number of cats that can be found? Depending on the town or city, you can find lots of cats.
lets hashtag yolo instead of marco polo
Sorry this one's late, had to backtrack for an egg and now I'm back on the road again but it's like, day three of being out here now? Something like that. So like, don't feel bad if you don't get to me right away, kay? I may just end up tracking you down and sneaky like a ninja and surprising you with hugs!
[Roxy, despite juggling holding an egg, her Gear, a backpack, and the shinx that had jumped up onto her shouler when she'd first started up Jane's reply, still managed to bounce on her toes a little. Though the Gear then promptly slipped through her fingers, landed thankfully on a patch of road that wasn't muddy from the rain these past few days, and the video cut out.]
\o/
[She tried warping as much as possible and got dizzy after the first one. Still, impatient to see her friend, Jane decided Flying on her Crobat was the best solution, but no Pokemon can fly straight for hours without a break.]
Are you alright? Your last message ended with a bit of a clatter...

[Though watch Jane get distracted trying to catch CATS for her bffsie.]

This may not be what you're hoping to hear, but there is no singular 'method'. You aren't even necessarily obligated to follow the role this universe assigned to you on your arrival; I was given the identification of a Breeder and I recently finished collecting all sixteen badges, something generally considered a Trainer's domain.
My advice would simply be to pick a direction and start walking.
Oh, actually that's great. I actually was kind of wondering about that but thought not to mention it at first because, well, I wasn't sure. Thank you, and I've already taken my first steps in one direction, just have to see where it leads me.
If I had to give a concrete recommendation, I would say that if you intend to do any serious breeding you're going to want to expand your roster. A Pokémon can't make eggs on its own, remarkable though that would be.
[He doesn't sleep.
Okay, that's a lie, he does. Just not regularly or at hours it would be normal to sleep at.]
I also do have a surplus of eggs if you'd like any to kickstart your team. No payment required.
[She was shaking her head here. Free advice going forward AND a Pokemon egg? That felt like too much to just get for free. Though he did say surplus, meaning extra, meaning he could afford to give even just one of them away as, like, a gift or something. Didn't mean her stance would change without some cajoling and reassurances it'd be fine.]
[Equal exchange! That's fair, right? Not that he needs more Pokémon when he's got upwards of sixty of them already, but that hasn't stopped him gathering up three new eggs literally in the last month so whatever.]
[Alright, she would either just need to avoid getting a Growlithe until that happened, or if she couldn't avoid it, because lets be honest here, then she would at least make an attempt to give one of... similar value, like similar rarity, no. Just. Something. Maybe she'd just exchange one of her first ones and just not tell him about it? By that point she expected to have strong Pokemon, at least relatively, right? So breeding them and giving what should also result in a strong Pokemon in return wouldn't be a bad thing would it?
She was overthinking this, something Dirk would do more than her. Keep it simple. Just agree and let whatever happens, happen.]
Re: [video]
(It was Andrew Hussie. Andrew Hussie did it).]
Wonderful. We'll consider it something of an IOU. I can send that egg along now if you'd like; it will deposit automatically into your PC.
[OOC: You may have already found it but a list of all Ford's available eggs (including those Growlithe eggs) is here! ALSO WELCOME TO THE GAME I'm Ink and true story like four years ago I considered apping Roxy so now this is the best of both worlds.]
Re: [video]
[Okay now she had to make a note of the IOU, and also maybe a note next to the note to send Something extra in return cause Growlithe is floof and a good boy from what she knew. Best way to get around on land after she snags a fire stone too. Score one for Ro-lal!]
(ooc: omg yes feel free to pm me too, in case you ever get an idea for idk like a plot thread and for some reason want Roxy to get involved (have her fall backward into) :3)
[Which means Chise has had to get the hang of it, at least for the sake of her more battle inclined companions.
Like the Rockruff that pokes his head up into view, peering at Roxy curiously as Chise rests a hand on his head gently.]
It..may not seem like there are many options at first but there really are. You can make friends with as many or as few Pokemon as you want and travel wherever you want here.
[Having this much freedom is something very new to her and it's amazing.]
Video
I mean there's people here that find jobs they like and do those and others just do everything they can. Or just travel a lot. My sister, Mabel and I have been doing a lot of travelling.
Yeah, I've been startin to gather that so I guess now it's just a matter of what do I actually choose to do. Hey, if I end up travelin around a lot we could maybe even bump into each other!

When I first got here I traveled a bit to see the sights. I'd battle other trainers, but usually I'd just get some part time job in whatever city I was in to make money. They're really generous with their wages, so you don't have to worry much. And I'd make some more Pokemon friends along the way! They're the most fun part of this world.
After I'd done enough traveling, I found a town I liked and settled down. I've got a steady job, and even though I'm a breeder technically, I've ever gotten a single egg. [He laughs.] My Pokemon are mostly performers, like I am, or more like... really independent pets! And we all chill out and live together. It's a nice life!
Was that helpful at all? I can give more specific tips if you need them!
Yeah that was totes helpful. Wait, you're performers? What do you perform?
[You've got her curious now.]
We really love the contests that happen every so often, which is basically like a Pokemon talent show. I wish they happened more regularly!
Re: [Video]
[A pokemon talent show? That sounds awesome!]
A talent show? Could you tell me more? Like, what do they do and how often people have them?
[She only knew one of the pokemon that he listed off. Maybe it shows, but she bets they're all really good at what they do.]
no subject
Right now they happen twice a year, but we're hoping they change it to three or four sometime soon!
