From what I understand, this is one way to ask questions. For anyone inclined to answer, I have a few pressing ones.

1. Where is this music playing from? It is music, right?
2. What advice or explanations do you wish you'd been giving when you woke up here? "Go forth and adventure" is not helpful. The guide on this thing is less than helpful. People here are very helpful, except they have nothing of much help to say.

[ There's a short snippet of dizzying video that follows, as the PokeGear shows a glimpse of sky and foliage while it tumbles to the ground, landing with a thump. At least then all the camera sees is sky through foliage, before the screen is overtaken by an extreme close-up of an Absol sniffing. Someone makes a shooing sound above the sniffling and susurrations of wind through the grass, and the Absol's face moves away. The camera catches a brief glimpse of a young blonde woman crouching down with her arm outstretched to the screen before it's flipped over and lifted, recording a stretch of dirt on a pathway and going dark. ]

What kind of fighting do you do?

Whatever's necessary, but if it's about what I was first taught, then a style of hand-to-hand combat developed by my father.

Do you have to do a lot of fighting where you're from?

[ ... Answering truthfully won't be a tip off for anyone, really. Those who know, know. Those who don't... well. ]

[Two years ago Krieg would not have picked up on all of the unexpressed sentiments in that abrupt, one-word answer. He's still not super great at reading subtle tells, but he's learned a lot about Peopling in his time here, so he's getting the sense that maybe this is something this person doesn't want to talk about.]

You don't like it?

[...Not that he'll entirely drop it, but the question he sends back today is much, much different than the one he would have asked two years ago.]

[ She stares at that question and wishes she had a simple answer. No, she doesn't like what's been forced on her, the lies on both sides and the justifications to kill, and kill, and kill, because they were right, and everyone else was wrong. But fighting in and of itself; the art of it, rather than the abuse? There's a fondness for what her father taught her, damn it all, for the one pride he held in her and she'd been able to follow through on. One thing she did well. ]

Fighting would be one thing. [ She ends up tapping out in the end. ] Killing is something else.

[ She can like, appreciate, feel alive doing one--and not the other. But she can do both, and use the skills she's been taught to kill, because she must. So she has done what needs doing.

But no. She doesn't have to like it. ]

KIll the deserving with no regrets.

But the fight's worthless if innocents are hurt.

[He gets it. Weird, maybe, for a Psycho killer with a hair-trigger temper and a berserker rage, but he gets it.]

So it goes. The deserving rarely are the only ones who die.

[ In fact, quite often, it's the innocents who are hurt and sacrificed to the Greater Good. Which does not, in her opinion, make it greater nor particularly good. ]

THe worst ones are always the last to fall.

[And they literally don't shut up until they're force-fed a bullet.

And then this usually wonderful, miraculous place has to go and bring them back]

While the societies that birthed them will remain, or become the things they always said they hated.

Does seem to be a trend.
