Yes, I've heard similar stories. As for the way people are spread out, it's true. I'm under the impression that some of those who've been here for some time have settled down in various ways, but most others are moving from area to area. Very few of us are in the same places at the same times. Less of an obstacle when you can use these port-pads or whatever they're called in the pokecenters, or the ferries, or trains, but as you said, it's a spread out network.
