Video

[The video turns on the reveal a glowing egg smack in the middle of Viridian. It's at an angle that indicates the user is on the ground, not that it seems to matter because once the egg finishes it's glow, it reveals an Onix.

Hope clearly needed to do more research because --]

Whoa, it's huge!

[And that long, nearly 30ft rock snake was leaning in to the camera and Hope. Hello, world! It rumbles a bit and then quite suddenly, Hope is dropping the 'Gear is the massive rock head is snuggling him and, now seen from the ground, lifting him right into the air! Hope clings a bit to the ridge on top while Minccino is yelling at it to clearly put their trainer down!]

O-Onix, please! I don't think now is the time for this!

[Someone help Hope get down from the affectionate Onix? Its tail is rubbing at Hope's back, yup, very affectionate. Also, ow, that kind of hurt.]

Not as far as I know. I’ve hatched two of mine and they both got attached to me pretty quickly.

I think it's because they kind of...imprint on you, in a way? Since you'd probably be the first person they see after hatching. So it makes sense that they'd become attached to you faster than they would if you caught them in the wild.

I've met most of mine while traveling. Usually I've had to battle them before they decided to join me, but some of them just started to follow me around and I ended up keeping them... [They could probably sense Yuuko's Mom Energy.]
