victory_road | 22nd Recipe [Video, Violet City] Nasty Plot in effect!

[Jane has been traveling to try and meet up with Roxy Lalonde since her friend first appeared on the network again, but it's...sometimes things are tricky and you miss people, and get distracted, and it's only now that she's been able to get to Violet City. Normally she wouldn't let anything else get in her way, but there's an incredible feeling in the air today. An air...of mischief.

Woe befall any Crocker who does not heed it.

And so, it's not Jane who turns on the Pokegear's feed, but August the shiny Delphox, looking on in concern as Jane tiptoes to peek around a corner of a building in Violet City, Dinah next to her, mimicking her movements in amusement. Beyond, there's a wild Purrloin sitting on a brick wall fence, bathing one of its paws, ears pricked but paying no mind to the trainer pursuing it.]

They've been at this for two hours. [August speaks with his mind to the 'gear, looking at it in exasperation.] I think Mom's trying to catch it? And Big Sister thinks it's hilarious. Anyone else's humans acting strangely today? Or...uh, are any of you humans being strange?

[Wow August, way to be the Fun Police.]

....is she...okay?

[Ah yes, he is aware. August nods at Alex, his expression sheepish...or as sheepish as a fox can look.]

Physically, yes? Mentally...it's...it's like it's that "April Fool's Day" is happening, but there aren't any tricks? It feels like that.

[It seems like, in the background, Jane and Dinah are whispering and plotting out their next step, and quickly split up, as if coming at the Purrloin in a pincer formation.]

She seems....really dedicated to this.

Do you know if she has any plans for after this or did this one just start out of nowhere?

Well, we started out going to look for my Aunt, so I guess after this she'll head that way, but...

[He just gives a tired, withering look to the camera. He'd like to be home please, it's almost spoopy time and he is so ready to hand out candy to children.]

But she somehow got distracted. Yeah, that's weird.

[She gets that look.]

Maybe she'll snap out of it after she captures the.....wait how long did you say she's been doing this? Is she after the same pokemon from then or is she trying to catch all of them?

Oh, no, she's just been following this one today. It's other things that got her sidetracked. [Like battles, and getting too dizzy to warp a lot, and her Crobat needing breaks...]

Oh dear.

Has anyone talked to her? Like tried to stop her from doing something? Is she reacting normally? Also....weird question, her eyes aren't glowing are they?

[Yes her thoughts may have gone into, oh god what if she's been possessed.]

Uh...no?

[August looks back, narrows his eyes, tilts his head a bit.]

No, no glowy eyes. She has talked to people, though...

Okay that's good. That's...probably a good sign.

[Please don't be ghost possession.]

So when people have talked to her. Does she sound like herself? Does she act weird then too?

She sounds normal...but not for this time of year? She sounds more...prank-y.

[He's not sure how to describe it other than "how she is during April Fool's Day".]

Huh. Strange.

Is she...doing anything dangerous when she's acting like this?

Not to herself, no. And...not to others. Whipped cream pies to the face are not dangerous, just tasty.

[There was definitely a Youngster in town who was on the wrong end of a prank assault today.]

Yeah, that definitely sounds more ....prank-y than anything else.

Well, maybe she'll tire herself out or ....if it is something going on. It'll wear off.

If she's still like this tomorrow, or the next day though....maybe try and see if you can herd her towards a pokecenter. I'm guessing they'd be able to tell if sudden random pranking is ...a thing here.

[He shrugs. The native humans aren't nearly as influenced by shenanigans as the ones who are brought here, he's noticed.]

I'll try. It...should pass. I think.

[Please go back to normal Jane. She has a bad history of friends getting personality overwrites due to supernatural workings.]

[She'll be fine once the day is over.

August, meanwhile, smiles and his tail wags. He appreciates these kind words of encouragement!]

Thank you, human! I will do my best! She is my Mom, after all.

[The response to seeing Jane again had her immediately grinning, and the fact that it was her Pokemon who was making the video because of strange behavior, made her want to laugh out loud. But no, she reigned herself in and plotted a little thing herself. No point in letting Jane be all sneaky and having fun when they were closer to meeting up, it looks like, than in the whole time Roxy had been here.

In the small video clip she sends back to the Delphox, several minutes later, she raises a finger to her lips, winks, and shows her surroundings. She's not too far from where Jane and her Pokemon are. Not quite close enough to see them, but enough to tell where they are by the buildings. She only had her Hoothoot with her today, which proved to be advantageous in even getting this far.]

I'm gonna surprise her. Don't let her know I'm here.

[She too, had been up to mischief, in this endeavor. She'd probably made Astrolabe roll his eyes, if he were capable of it, more than once in just the last hour alone. Because even though Rick was off who knew where by now, she had made an effort in trying to avoid him too. She wanted to be the one to tackle hug Jane and chat with her instead of Rick, first.

God only knew how many times she has sung her friends praises in his presence, and with his attitude, well, if they did meet up first she wanted to at least be there to watch it go down. Maybe even get it on video to remember and laugh at later if it proved to be particularly entertaining.]

[August perks up immediately at the response, and even though his response is telekinetic, he still hilariously puts a hand over his snoot as if that will keep him quiet.]

Aunt Roxy!!!

[Luckily - or perhaps just oddly - Jane does not catch the little transmission, still focused on tiptoe-approaching the Purrloin. Dinah, however, turns, having caught it herself, and looks at August in surprise. When did he get the 'gear?]

Are you close? Are you here? Maybe she'll stop if you're here!]

[Roxy was indeed close. Closer than she had been in her previous video clip, which if she had to guess was sent only a couple minutes ago. The fox-like Pokemon, whose species she didn't yet know, was absolutely adorable though. Aunt Roxy, was she? Of course, she was.]

Yes, I'm close. [She gave a wink just seconds before she ducked for the cover of some shadows, thinking she was able to see Jane yet only having that glimpse of the previous video to go by. The bipedal fox, however, was the giveaway.] I think I'm close enough to see both of you. And your big sis.

[Roxy got close enough, with her Hoothoot now perched precariously on top of her head, to Jane to be maybe only a few feet away before piping up with a Cheshire grin.]

JANEY!!

[He nods at the message, and she can see him poke the 'gear to respond when his ears perk a little, and he turns her way as she approaches. August's tail wags behind him, and he grins, but he stays quiet, pointing over to where Jane is.

And...she's...she's got a Pokeball ready to toss when her name gets called out, snapping her out of concentration. She turns just as the Purrloin, ever-aware, slinks away, and her eyes widen and her jaw drops.

It was one thing to see her best friend over the network, and it was quite another to see her in person.]

R-Roxy? Roxy!!

[Dinah flails a little nearby, looking between her trainer and the now-absconded Purrloin as Jane hurries over, beaming, to give Roxy a big hug.]
