Whoo, spoopy time. Seems like yesterday I was having the time of my life going trick or treating. My old town doesn't celebrate Halloween as hardcore as some of the other towns I know, Kanon town goes all out and I went there a couple of times. I had some fun there definitely.

Speaking of spooky, I got my badge from Morty. Thanks for all the help everyone with the advice, I really needed the assist. It was an endurance test all the way through but I managed to beat him.

Anyone plan to do anything this October besides the usual?

Yeah that about sums it up. I mean, sometimes it takes people time and effort to grow into those attitudes, but they all derive from the base core of what makes a hero, a hero.

Yeah, it depends. I mean, people fight for different reasons. At least in my world, most of the time people fight for justice. And hope and all those good things. Very few times do we have anyone who fights for the sake of fighting.

It might be. Pokemon have such a different ability set than I'm used to, so they're much different than anything I've ever experienced before. They're certainly not like the fairies I've dealt with once before.

Fairies?

Fairies. Small little animal-like fairies, who completely deny they're animals when you exclaim they're such and such. They're citizens of another world, and often are partnered to a human girl, or boy or robot or whatever, and become a Precure Fairy. More on that later. They're adorable and often end their sentences in affixes like kuru.

I was wondering how similar they might have been the fairy type here. I thought it might be closer to the "fae creatures" someone else mentioned, but this sounds more similar to how pokemon-human relationships are here.

They're closer to people than Pokemon to be perfectly honest. They talk and feel like normal people, they're just smaller and more animal-like. But when they're stronger with magic, they can take on human form.

I see. With magic being what, in specific?

Magic is magic. It's a power that comes from the strength of the heart and the power of a fairy and a Precure together.

So... combined energies between these different things.

[ This sounds like a load of nonsense and that is sadly not unusual in pokemon land, even for worlds that are not this one. But hey, she has titans. Nonsense is life. ]

Pretty much. There's a study of it, but it's a study I never got into.

Sounds like a headache. You used this kind of energy?

I was supercharged on it for most of my younger years. I could explode anything like a lightning bolt.

Hopefully without the heat that comes with lightning. When did that change?

[ She's just accepting this is probably a thing. Just. It sure happened, somewhere else. ]

Honestly I can't remember. One day it just became a blur. And then I was here and it started to get clearer and clearer.

I just started focusing on work more and more, and I dropped out of school to work and things just blurred into work. No more time for heroics.

Sounds like a reasonable state of affairs. Keeping up with life is demanding enough.

Yeah, I mean, I had trouble towards the end but I ended my work on the terms I wanted. So I feel like I wanted to clear my slate and come back refreshed.

More than many might be able to say. What were you doing before this place, then? And what's been keeping you busy here?

[pikapikajankenpo]

I was a manga writer and artist. I produced a series that reached critical acclaim. It had a toy line, a animation series, and a lot of other things, but that might not be familiar for you. It's entertainment, really solid entertainment.

I spent time in the trainer and journeying life for a while before starting a new manga series here, focusing around a journeying trainer who is also a heroine.

Most of what you said doesn't mean anything in specific, but I get the general idea. Manga is a form of illustrated story? And you're now telling a story that is informed by your experiences here, or so I'm imagining.

That's right. The manga I told was inspired by my own life, and she bolstered me up, and drove me through the hardest times in my life. I owed her a lot in my life, and there was a lot that was written from personal experience. Which is why the stories were so well resonated.

Kind of like a hero for yourself, in a way.

It's good there's that allowance for telling stories here, like what you had in Japan.

It is. There's always room for stories. It's how history is passed down, and how the old educate the young. It's really an amazing way to keep everything alive.

I hope to pass on a tale that will give people hope.

Just as it's a tool that can change everything that came before. Rewriting history to benefit the winners is fairly common, or so I'd think.

That would be nice if it does. I imagine with that being your goal, and with the lack of obvious censorship here, there's a good chance you will.

It might be yeah. But I'd hope it wouldn't have to be a medium to rely on these days.
