Look at them all!

[That is a very excited Rose Quartz on the network. And she has...is that a Hoppip nestled into her hair on top of her head? It certainly is. And the view behind her is...Cherrygrove. Rose is still in Cherrygrove, having been utterly captivated by the little town and surrounding area. And of course the Pokemon.]

[Which is what she's broadcasting about. The 'gear turns to show quite a little assortment of Pokemon playing in the grass and fallen leaves. A Bunnelby, a Psyduck, a Flabebe, and a Bidoof. Well, most are playing, the Psyduck is just sitting and watching.]

They really are everywhere! And all so different...

I found all of them on the way to Cherrygrove - and it really is a very soothing and restful place to stay for a bit! I've been learning all about human care at the spa here, they've been very nice and I know all about skin now! And I'm really getting the hang of buying things, but I'm spending more money than I'm getting.

Maybe I should try a job!

You could ask the people who've been helping you out at the spa if there's any work you could do for them? Since you're becoming familiar with what they do there.

I don't see an immediate reason why they wouldn't, unless they're over-staffed.

[Rose can think of a few reasons. She's an alien from another dimension with the barest grasps of how humans work being the biggest. But Henry had said lots of people come here who weren't human before, and surely they have jobs here.]

[ On the bright side, if Rose hasn't been violent, then she's also in one of the cities with the highest early contact rates with offworlders, and she's friendly and upbeat. People tend to like those qualities. They're easier to swallow, from her experience. ]

Good luck. If they don't end up having room, one of the suggestions I was given was to talk with the old couple running the Pokemon Center in Cherrygrove. They're always looking for help, and they'll let you stay at the center as long as you need.

Considering the tiny amounts of money given out by the trainers near Cherrygrove, you'll definitely need to find work. Unless you intend to catch a few species with the Pickup ability to sell the items they find, or raise a Meowth to level 30 for its Pay Day move.

Pick Up? Pay Day? What are those?

Pickup is an innate ability certain species can have, like Zigzagoon or Aipom. It makes them really good at finding items dropped by other trainers, like pokéballs or gold nuggets.

[Because people obviously misplace gold nuggets all the time.]

Pay Day is a combat move that Meowth, and only Meowth, can learn. It... creates money out of thin air so they can throw it at their opponent, more or less.

That's marvelous! There's so many different moves and abilities they have! And so many they just learn naturally, through doing what they do!

They're not always skills you expect them to have, either. One of my dogs seemed as normal as a Pokémon can be, but when he reached his last evolution he suddenly knew how to embue his fangs with fire, ice and electricity. Just like that, in an instant.

Aww, look at all the little ones! Most of my Pokemon aren't that small anymore. I miss it...

[There's a full-grown Furret behind him that's wiggling a paw in the direction of the screen. Maestra loves babies!]

They are little, aren't they? I'm still learning about all the things they can do!

[The Hopipp on Rose's head bounces a bit in greeting.]

Have you ever held a crystal up to the light? And the light passes through it and bounces off of it and makes a glow and beams of light? The part that's me is the crystal, but the light around it I can manipulate into a 'body'. Like...like a hologram!

Oh...I've seen "holograms" in movies...

[He's squinting a little while he tries to make sense of what she's saying. Lady this sounds extremely weird and unscientific. But he guesses he might as well just...roll with it.]

ive been working there a while and it sure does beat that filing whatever job
lets be honest that is not where my skillset lies
and honestly if im still around in violet if when u get up this way workin with u will b a blast i bet

well we help out the patients and stuff, so helping take care of the sick n injured pokemon, mainly
n yes i do get 2 meet a lot of people
every1s always comin an goin thru pokecenters
and yep violet is the next town to get 2

Hm. Sounds like you need a crash course on human life and society. Because, unfortunately things cost money, which you have to get from... hopefully appropriate means.

The people at the spa might need help, or the pokemon center. Some people also get money by fighting trainers when their pokemon are high enough level. I've, uh, not done much of that.
