Hey everyone!

[Kazuki waves at the camera. One thing about him immediately sticks out-- He's wearing traditional Japanese clothing. On his shoulder is his Sensu Oricorio, who is also wearing a loose jacket, behind him, his Primarina, wearing a cute furisode with fur trim, and finally, near his feet, his Vulpix, wearing a tiny yukata made for a four-legged Pokemon.]

[The Oricorio looks quite severe, but the Primarina and Vulpix are obviously having fun playing dress-up. Kazuki himself looks proud, and also a bit bashful.]

There's a point to this, I swear. [He chuckles nervously.] It's my birthday today-- and before you say anything, it's okay that you don't know if you don't know! I'd have to tell you it was coming up first for that to be something to worry about! And that'd be too embarrassing, you know? Hey! My birthday is tomorrow! I want a cake! [He laughs again.] Nah, there's no way I could do that. I don't mind things like this.

But anyways-- I'm turning 20! Back in my world, in Japan, 20 is when a person comes of age. It's a tradition there that the January after you turn 20, you wear formal clothes-- either or a suit or old-timey stuff like this-- and go to the prefectural office for the seijin-shiki, the coming of age ceremonies. Then you usually have a party with friend and family...

Anyways, I know it's not Coming-of-Age Day yet, but I figured I'd celebrate early since that isn't a thing here. I flew up here to Ecruteak to rent some clothes for the day, and, well, these three insisted on joining in on the fun.

[His Primarina opens a fan and flutters it demurely in front of his face. The Oricorio shakes it's head and shows him the real way one handles a fan. Meanwhile, the Vulpix looks up at her trainer with shining eyes.]

I've always felt younger than I actually am, but I guess I really feel like a man when I wear these clothes. I think I'm gonna try to be more mature from here on out!

Oh-- And if you've got a tradition like Coming-of-Age Day in your world, tell me about it! I'd really like to know!

Well, on Halloween I did dress up to match my Froslass...it would be fun to dress up my Pokemon, too.

I was, but Takeshi and I figured it wouldn't hurt to do it anyways. Plus, our families were pretty insistent about it being such a milestone. [Even if she was already married and already had three kids by that point. Ah, well.]

That's the Ghost/Ice type that looks like a yuki onna, right?

Did you two have to elope? I can't imagine a dad letting their little girl go so young without a fight!

Yep! I met Shizuka when she was just a little Snorunt. She was really insistent on using a Dawn Stone to evolve into a Froslass for Halloween, so I couldn't say no to her for that.

Well, no, we didn't elope...though it still took my dad a bit of time to warm up to us being married. He came around soon enough, though.

She wanted to be a ghost for Halloween! Hehe. Are you collecting Ice types? They really gel with your figure skating!

Man, relationship goals right there. I'd really love to have a family someday.

I guess I have been. It took me a while to even realize I was collecting them, honestly. [And Flip ended up becoming part Ice-type when she evolved, too.]

I think you'd have yourself a very happy family, in that case. I hope that works out for you.

I think we all have a type bias we end up having naturally. I have a lot of Flying and Fairy types, but I never searched for them specifically!

I still need you to put your powers in a charm for me!

Really? I have a few Fairy types, too, come to think of it. [Though that could just be because she likes pink.]

Well, New Year's is coming up! That'll be a good opportunity to make a charm, for sure.

I love 'em, they're so cute! And they've got great personalities. Tonks is so charismatic, and Sticky always has me on my toes!

They're definitely pretty cute. Though my Sylveon can give me trouble sometimes...

Don't worry, I'll make sure to give it as much positive energy as I can.

If I got an Eevee, it would probably end up being a Sylveon... Or maybe an Espeon. I've heard they both evolve through friendship.

They do, though apparently an Eevee also has to know a Fairy type move in order to evolve into a Sylveon. [Though by now, Yuuko suspects that Twizzle just ate a lot of Pokepuffs in order to evolve.]

Something as cute as a little Eevee has to learn a Fairy type move naturally...

But I've got my hands full taking care of a baby Lapras right now. One thing at a time.

A Lapras? Those are pretty big, aren't they? Then you definitely would have your hands full...

They get big! He's still pretty small right now though. He lives at the shore near my pad, and one of my Pokemon keeps an eye on him whenever I can't be there.

Well, it's good you live near a body of water so he can swim. I don't live too far from the Lake of Rage, but I do have to take my bike out there to save time.

Near the Lake of Rage? Where have you settled down? Mahogany? Blackthorn?

Mahogany. I have work at the rink, but I still try to go out to the lake so Flip can go swimming.

[And of course, that cues Flip the Dewgong to poke her head in and bark in greeting. It's been a while!]

That's definitely a good fit for you then! I decided to stay in Lavender because of the recording studio.

[At the sound of a fellow pinniped Pokemon, Honky Tonk nudges into screen as well. He's still looking fabulous in his furisode, and cries melodiously in greeting.]

That's right, I remember you mentioned that. Lavender's all the way in Kanto, isn't it?

[Flip barks again and happily claps her flippers together. She's calmed down and matured somewhat since evolving, but sometimes she can be just as excitable as when Yuuko first met her.]

Yep! But I've got a flier to ride, and if you want to get to Johto even faster, you can ride the Magnet Train too. I've got some friends in the Sevii Islands that I go visit sometimes.

Oh, really? I have friends in Sevii too, though I just take the ferry from Olivine to get there. [She really needs to borrow someone's Fly HM one of these days...]

A lot of people live there! And I can't blame them-- the weather is gorgeous. Armin has his whole pod of Lapras out there too.

Oh, I remember hearing Armin talking about breeding Lapras. Did you get yours from him?

No-- Shimizu's an orphan. I found him near the coast south of Fuchsia City. I think he got washed away from his pod, because he was alone. But he didn't look like he'd been harmed at all, which is good. He's not shy with people at all anymore.

Oh...I'm glad you managed to find him and give him a good home. I hear there aren't a lot of Lapras out there as it is.
