[Dr Isley's camera turns on with a focus being titled downwards towards one of her flourishing flowerbeds. The owner of the device can be heard making thoughtful noises and pressing buttons as she appears to adjust some settings.]
I'm in the process of taking some pictures for documentation's sake and I thought should make some video for my records also.
And for the sake of education and curiosity, I'm going to post it on here too.
[Pam's matter-of-fact tone lifts into a proud note as the camera raises to show off the huge form of a Mega Venusaur, who's being fawned over by Pam's personal mob of Grass Types.]
Noco has managed to unlock his Mega form. We still have some more work to do, right now we're determining the duration and cooldown period. But he is, rightly, proud of himself, as we all are. You look gorgeous, pet.
[Noco stands beside his incredibly proud mother, Tyler the Ivysaur, who's affectionately stroking and touching at his face with her vines and cooing in a low voice as Noco rumbles in bashful pride.
Dr Isley circles around the giant creature, zooming in on some the differences between this form and the regular one.]
I can try and assist with any questions if you have any.

[Connor hasn't seen a Mega evolution before, so he's looking at the Venusaur quite intently.]
How do you unlock a Mega form? Can all pokemon do it? Sorry, this is very new to me.
video
[Ivy holds up her Key Stone.] You need one of these, a Key Stone. [She also shows the Venusaurite attached to Noco.] And your Pokemon needs a Mega Stone, one specific to their species. The two appear to work in sync with each other.
As for unlocking it, the specifics I'm still trying to work out. But I've had the stone for a while and it seemed we weren't able to even begin the process until Noco hit his final level.

[He wonders if any of his pokemon could mega evolve. Of course he'd need the relevant items first, though. And he's not sure how easy to obtain those are.]
And this form is temporary?
no subject
[She sends over the attachment.]
Yes, they'll eventually revert to their original form and need to rest.

It would be interesting to see these evolutions. If I ever get the opportunity, I'd like to mega evolve my Manectric.
[It's another goal he now has, which makes him happy.]

But I believe some other people got their stones through a different method. Not sure if they were given a choice though

im so sorry this is late!
Video
Do you need something to do that?
[She kinda remembers reading something about mega forms.]
Video
Yes, you need to have a set of stones. One Key Stone and another that is specific to your Pokemon.
[She shows Newt the Key Stone she has on her.]
Video
Where do you get the key stone....and the specific one?
Video
Video
I've got two so far. And I'll get get more.
Is that the only way to get one?

I was wondering if I was just crazy for a while. Congratulations.
video;
Mind me asking which of yours has achieved a different form?

[He shakes his head, and turns the camera outside for a moment. His Aggron is busy sunning itself on the beach.]
My starter -- Kuro. He's done it a couple times now. First time ended up exhausting us both, though.
video;
It is rather draining. Have you used it frequently since?
video;
There hasn't been a lot of opportunity. Regular gym battles don't need that kind of heavy hitting.

ARRIVES LATE because this is relevant to ford's interests
[He's not gonna be like 'you might have seen her on the TV' but... Ivy might have seen her on the TV. He used her in his battle against Lance, after all.]

Ah yes, I remember seeing her. They were stunning.
[She watched it purely for your Grass type footage.]

I was incredibly lucky that out of all of the mega stones I was given, I ended up with Abomasite. A whole race of yetis that blend in with their snowy forest habitat because they're trees themselves? Fantastic.

[The Absol in question is off camera but makes a sort of sarcastic grumbling noise and she rolls her eyes.]
video
So, yours is an Absol? Did it take long for you to unlock theirs?
Re: video
[She turns the camera on Noir the Absol who looks pleased to be on camera. He tilts his head showing off his fedora and starts bouncing around.]
Not long actually. For awhile there Noir and I were going out every night to fight and train. I had some plans that never came through but all the battle seemed to help him figure it out and now so long as we're both on our A game we can pull it off.
video
Seems like something lit a fire under you for a little while there.
I see. And how does he seem to handle matches against opponents that aren't teammates?
Re: video
Ah yeah well...those plans had all kind of hinged on others that were involved and they all vanished so we had to go back to square one.
Actually that's not too different from how things were for me back home. Big plans, things get messed up by others, back to square one.
Please tell me adulthood doesn't require so much starting over?
