April Fools Memories - Video

April 1st huh... I have memories of this day. Wonder why it's coming in clear now...

I remember when I was 14 and I was really into harmless lies for April Fools. Not that I do it anymore.

Then I told a lie that convinced the wrong person I was being transferred out of school, which snowballed into the entire class throwing me a goodbye party. I was so shy and nervous back then, I fled the room in shame.

And then I got attacked by Red Oni and he made a giant monster which would tell the most basic of lies to trick us in a fight. I guess that day was pretty basic but it taught me the most valuable of lessons.

[Yayoi hefted the Sobble in her arms and added,] But I'll leave it up to you to decide what lesson I learned. Clearly I haven't lost my mischief streak yet.

So has anyone figured out if these little ones have names yet? I've called mine Sobby.
lyingheart: anonsanta, let me know who to credit! (ask | could that explain why i'm here)

Lies have as many consequences as the truth, and you should be prepared to deal with either, and be aware that both can manipulate your actions. One just leaves people more indignant than the other if it's found out to be less than purely honest... but people don't enjoy full honestly either.

[ this is probably not the lesson, but it's sure one she learned as a child. in the moment she's talking, her voice is calm and almost soothing, not quite soft, but level. there's a bundle wrapped in a blanket resting in her lap, and her absol is leaning against her side, partially in frame. ]

Most seem to say their names in part when they're vocalising, don't they? That's one of those things I've stopped trying to figure out the why for. Regardless, not sure what the proper names might be, but "sob" appears to be part of these ones.
lyingheart: (glance | and it's hard to learn)

On the one hand, you never forgot that fight.

[ on the other, it's a bit absurd, truly. ]

Have you noticed him every being... hard to see?

Seems like many places have a degree of the incredible we wake up to seeing one day.

[ as in difficult to believe, incredulous, rather than great. ]

I've been wondering something similar. I'm not seeing any evidence of... intangibility, for what that's worth.

Ugh, a demon that weaponizes lies? Sounds like a pain to defeat.

[She says as if being honest is the most painful thing in the world.]

That's what you would call a basic day? What the hell was a complicated day for you then?
badluckbabe: (Frown: Neeeeeeerd)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
...You make me glad I decided to be a villain first. We never have to learn morals or life lessons through ironically themed fights.

[Though thinking back on what she knows about the Titans a lot of themes are starting to come together.]

Magic is full of stuff like that I guess. More often then not a curse or a hex is meant to punish someone for something they did wrong so you'd think I'd have learned more hard lessons by now.
badluckbabe: (Frown: o_o)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
And an Ultra would be...what exactly?

What like holy magic? Were you guys priests or something?
badluckbabe: (Frown: Mrr?)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a Green Lantern to me. Basically space cops with light powers that fly around being bossy.

Did the whole town stay precure or was it one of those last minute "we're all gonna die so pull out all the stops" sort of moments?
badluckbabe: (Frown: Blush huh?)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa! Three minutes? You have to do all your super heroics in three minutes or less? That blows.

A whole town of magical holy heroes....yeesh.

[Remind her to never go anywhere near there.]
badluckbabe: (Flirt: Leg up being kissed)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess if you're that powerful three minutes is all you need. But it still sucks.

Was he an Oni too? Or like an Evil Precure? Are there Evil Precures?

[Please tell her everything about this other type of superhero world.]
badluckbabe: (Smile: Faded but still smiling)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-01 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Evil is always sexier. It's just an accepted fact of the universe.

Which is a shame because all the other negative emotions that get packaged with evil apparently turn you into giant monsters.
badluckbabe: (Frown: Blush huh?)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-04 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
See that's just not fair!

I mean...how come all villains have to be so negative? I like to think that my team and I were fairly healthy and balanced people...most of the time.

[Sigh]

Oh well. No sense longing for something that wasn't meant to be. Being a hero...ish type is usually more rewarding.
badluckbabe: (Flirt: No no love)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-06 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
OK now I gotta know: Who's the dumbest villain you've ever faced?
badluckbabe: (Frown: Face + Palm = OTP)

[personal profile] badluckbabe 2019-04-07 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of the dumbest foes I faced were regular cops honestly, but there was this one guy...he had super speed so he spent all his time working on his charm. It was so annoying!

But he was stupid. He kept going after me specifically and it wound up getting him caught. That's what you get when you make your priorities so obvious you know? Even after the first time it got him caught he did it again coming right after me and wound up almost dying when someone way stronger then me caught him.

I guess I should thank him though since it helped me change careers.
thegreenhornet: (The Green Hornet)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2019-04-02 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow, that was qiute the story]

Wow, that's. Sorry to hear that?

[Apparently he focused on that part of the story instead of the Red Oni part. Maybe because it does strike a little closer to home than he'd like to -- he was kinder when he was a kid]

They got upset with you later?
thegreenhornet: (I'm a vigilante)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2019-04-03 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
You'd have to be stupid to do that again. Good to hear they let this go lightly.

[Besides...]

Now what was that part about giant monsters?
thegreenhornet: (I'M LOSING CONTROL OF THE SITUATION)

[personal profile] thegreenhornet 2019-04-03 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[That's kind of cool]

Since you're not a superhero anymore does that mean you kicked the villains' asses once and for all?

[He sounds really interested on that, yeah. Maybe because of the cool factor, maybe because he's a hero -- well, vigilante, but he sure isn't going to make the distinction]
exeggutorhead: (whut)

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2019-04-02 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[WHAT A STORY. Envy's looking pretty incredulous.]

Oh yeah, just a regular afternoon fighting monsters based on the last embarrassing mistake you made, happens to all of us.

Is the lesson that you gotta get better at lying?
exeggutorhead: (you gotta be kidding me)

[personal profile] exeggutorhead 2019-04-04 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
If they did, I'd say you'd need to start hanging around people who can handle a prank.

Gonna pull any this year?
