[She laughs- a raspy, burbling sound- as she runs, ducking into a crowd in an attempt to lose her pursuer. She knocks a couple people into the pool in the process, and hisses an apology even as she keeps running- but she's not fast enough. She can't outrun a human, even with a head start.
So Luca pauses, catches her breath, and whistles.
A bird opens one eye, then another. Then another. And another. And two more.
The Critics grumble as they wake up from their nap, hissing groggily as they glance around. The Dodrio can see Luca making a beeline straight for them, and before they can even register what's happening, the turtle clambers on their back and yells for them to get moving!
... They don't, of course, not yet. Two heads argue amongst themselves about why they're supposed to take orders from her, though the third is willing to trust her. They'll need a little more incentive. Possibly in the form of an approaching, pissed off Jack and/or hellhound.]
