They varied from teacher to teacher but that was the gist of them. Sometimes you had to write lines, or do chores around the classroom or just sit there. Or work on homework.

I think in this case they were mostly going in, getting a lecture and that was it. It was nearly graduation and teachers tended to be less strict around the end of the year anyway in my school
