hhhhhhhey uh probably a weird question but i think the egg i got from those dudes in exchange for those pictures from the big cruise is|

i think it went bad or something cause it finally hatched and i dont think dogs are supposed to be... you know.

[Attached is a picture of a blue Rockruff with a white muzzle and white paws, standing triumphantly over what looks to be the tailfin of a Gyarados.

did i mess something up?? cuz the first egg i had hatched suuuuuper quick and the turtle came out looking like the ones i saw on tv and junk but this funky little dude has been in that egg for ages. he didnt like

overcook in there did he?

also did anyone lose a big gyarados and a manta ray looking thing?? they were in my computer and i cant find the dude they were listed under originally

There's no need to worry. Your Rockruff is a shiny. It's a good thing. Or, well, it's not a bad thing, at the very least.

[the other subject turns Armin a bit more subdued though. Big Gyarados? Well, those aren't an uncommon sight, but he knows one person who really had a knack for them. And he is gone now.]

Sometimes when people leave this world, their pokemon end up with other trainers. Most commonly close friends, but not always. I'm guessing those pokemon belonged to someone who recently left, especially if you can't find his name listed on the gear anymore.

And I'm guessing that person was Noctis.

You didn't. It's just... an unusual quirk. Shiny pokemon are pokemon who have a different colouration from the other pokemon of their kind. It's just their colour that changes, but other than that, they are the same as any other pokemon. Some people really value the rarity of the whole thing.

[And ah. That sure is a familiar description.]

That's Noctis, yes. He really loved those Magikarp. He collected as many as he could.

certain eggs take way longer to hatch than others. so you probably didnt do anything stupid. probably

speaking of the turtle, hows it doing? luca will probably wanna know about her baby

oh- is the manta ray a mantine or a mantyke? ive got a mantine, dont think he's gone anywhere though

[Venkman still checks the Pokeball at his side just in case.]

the only other person i know with a mantine is dandy and i doubt he'd hand her over to someone at random without a word

[Altruism doesn't seem to be his style.]

i dunno who your other pokemon are but glad to hear hes settling in well; i dont really know much about his dad but his mom's definitely a handful.

if you're lucky, Flo didn't inherit her tendency towards anarchy and vandalism. if you're not lucky, i'd suggest setting aside money just in case you have to pay fines in the future

yep probably a mantyke. or a REALLY small mantine. mine has a 7ft wingspan and couldnt fit in a bathtub unless you rolled him up like an old rug

i dont know anyone who had one of those so i cant help you there. but probably someone decided you needed even more water types

It's probably fine. Sometimes Pokemon are just born with special coloration like that. It's not common, but it happens.

It definitely happens. I've had a few eggs like that hatch, over the years. Abby, for example, came from one of those eggs that sometimes show up out of nowhere, a couple years back.

[Attached is a photo of a pink Ribombee, because she's the one who was passing by in the hallway. She'd probably look just like a shoujo manga protagonist who's late to her first day of school, if Ryner had any sense of composition.]

Dogs breathe fire here, sometimes. This dimension's understanding of what animals we thought we knew elsewhere should or could do is warped.

Sounds like the last part might be someone going home. PC additions can be from people who willed out certain pokemon to go to friends of theirs if they ended up leaving.

Striped cat?

Odd. Still, he had to have indicated those pokemon would go to you. It's how it works. Must have made an impression that time you talked.

Oh no, your little puppy friend is just fine! His coloration is what you'd call "shiny". It just means he's a bit more special than Pokemon of his species. I have one on hand myself, if you'd like to see more?
cyan_maid: (I found a hat! :B)

Absolutely not! At least, they shouldn't - and it's not like you can't give them a stern talking-to if it happens.

[Jane thinks for a moment.] Shiny Pokemon? Um...just three. But that's honestly more than I ever expected, really, and only one is on my team all the time. His name is August, and he's a Delphox - they're supposed to be yellow and red, but he's more purple than yellow.

Your pokemon is fine, it's a natural but rare color variation. Like an albino. They're called shiny.

I have a golden dinosaur and a pink bee. The colors aren't what most would consider natural, but that can be said of many Pokemon.

I have a green dog, but he's a Furfrou.
