Flo. Floette! Flo flo. Ette flo. Flo.
[To everyone out there, this is a PSA on how to take care of your flowers when it's hot. And then she floats offscreen with her flower. Comes back. She has a dollhouse-sized watering can and her examples are some origami style from various colors of post-it notes. Some of them still have things written on them. If you look closely one petal still has a good portion of the word 'fuck' on it.]
Flo. Flo ette flo flo ette. [You want to water them like this. She tips her toy watering can onto her tiny origami flowers.] Flo flo ette flo flo. Flo flo ette flo flo flo ette ette ETTE flooooo. [In the early evening. So they don't dry out too much in in the bright sun and they can drink water at night. She holds up her own pretty blue flower then and hugs it tight. You can keep your flowers pretty and happy!]
Ette flo flo flo ette Flo!
[She leaves the screen long enough to bring over her tiny Tupperware (near pokebrand equivalent) container, the sort that'd be used for salad dressing you'd take to work, and it's been painted and prepared like a tiny planter, down to having holes very carefully drilled in the bottom. She, in the meantime, leaves a trail of dirt across the desk she's on. This is what happens because Hank took enough time to make her tiny planter and buy her tiny garden tools that are her-sized and make her some fake origami flowers. Which is hard for his big stupid fingers to manage and he went through a lot of failures.]
[There's the sound of a door opening, dogs doing jangly-collared runs as Hank lets them in, and then her trainer's big booming voice asking-]
Connie, the hell are you doing?
[And the Floette squeals with a big cute happy smile and floats off. Hank'll be there in a moment to start cleaning up her mess. Then turns the Pokegear at himself when he sees its on.]
Ah. She was recording.
Video;
They do that sometimes. I've had my gear stolen to show off some of my pokemons interests before.
Dryad here seemed to think it was pretty interesting though. She pulled me over here to watch.
Video;
[He brushes off his desk, sweeping it onto a sheet of paper held just off the edge of the desk. Then he dumps the leftover dirt in the garbage can.]
First time its happened for me.
[He starts to scoop up the origami flowers, but there's 'flo's of protest off to the side, and he just brushes them over towards Connie.]
Hey uh, way back before I left I saw your daughter had beat the big guys. I'm glad you got to be around for that. She did a good job. [You have to tell a parent when a kid is doing a good job. It's the law.]
Video;
I think you got lucky with this one. When my Noctowl was a tiny Hoothoot years ago, she and another of my team, stole my gear. They somehow made up signs with writing on them and put up a video to show off her ability to see into the future.
....that she did and does not have.
[He loves her but she was a tiny terror at times. At that last part though, Harry grins.]
So am I. It was...amazing. I'm so proud of her.
no subject
....Jesus, those things can see the future? That'd creep me the fuck out, too.
What did she see?
[Harry seems like a good dad and he really appreciates that. There are too few of those in the world. Okay there are plenty in this world, but in others it's fucking lacking and it shouldn't be.]
no subject
[So many new things, etc etc.]
Oh, no. Well I'm not sure if any of them can see the future but Dally just thought she could. And she seemed to be mostly answering questions people had about the future with yes and no cards. I think most of them were just humouring her. Which was nice of them.
[Harry is a dad first out of all things. His pokemon are pretty much his second group of kids here.]

...You're still mad at me over the flowers, aren't you?
[Her response is a hard 'FLO!' in the background. He doesn't need to understand her to just nod.]
I've got the exact opposite of a green thumb. Figure she's trying to keep other people from being fucking disasters with plants. [He rubs his eye with the heel of his hand, looking exhausted with that universal tired parent face.]
no subject
I'm sure that's not true, you probably just need a little help, that's all. Plants are very good at growing.
[It's hard for Rose to wrap her mind around someone not being able to grow plants. But she can grow sentient plants with a thought and revive wilting ones with a touch, in her natural state.]
no subject
[Which is piss poor pitiful when a man has access to the internet and could bother looking up a thing or two.]
Luckily Connie can manage her own flower. Apparently that's a thing they do.

Crockett thinks she was very informative.
[With the Magnezone being the only Pokemon Connor can understand, he had to kind of rely on it for a translation.]
no subject
[He asks as he finishes cleaning up her mess. Off to the side, Connie's made a little pile of the small post-it note flowers that Hank's bumbled his way through, most of which are far less than perfect. She seems happy enough with them, though.]
Glad we got at least one translator. [Even if it probably ends up like a game of telephone sometimes.]
no subject
She wanted people to know how to care for their flowers.
[His Vulpix jumps up and curls up in his lap just as Connor is about to get out of his chair, her many tails swishing.]
no subject
[He then immediately points to Connor.]
Now you're never getting up. You gotta sit there forever. Fox on you.

BWEE!!!
[...He kinda sounds like his trainer, if you squint. He's got the volume thing down.]
no subject
Jesus Christ, I can guess who your person is even without caller ID. Big voice on you, kid.
Hold on, Hold on. Connie!
[He stands and reaches off screen. There's a snap sound, and he can sort of be seen jerking his hand back.]
Connie! Goddammit. Come on, the Eevee wants to talk to you. [Then another reach. And this time he brings his hand back with her, with a little red stripe down his thumb because she got him good.]
[She looks cutely at the screen as if she did no wrong, with three origami flowers in her arms along with her real ones.]
no subject
[The Eevee's second exclamation is much less demanding and much more polite when he sees the Floette again. Punk Face blinks back at Connie just as cutely. It's a cuteocalypse up in here. Yes, hi, hello! He really enjoyed Connie's lecture, and was worried she hadn't finished when she'd been so rudely interrupted! He just wanted to make sure she didn't have anything more to add!]
no subject
[Hank lets her keep talking, but leans down to peer comically from around her as she does. He has no idea what's going on here, but he sure is holding a tiny monster talking to another tiny monster and while these moments are becoming fewer and far between, he's having another jolt of "how did my life become this?"]

video; hello i'm millions of years late
when hank comes on to move her around, jack finally shows up with a chuckle. ]
She was doing a pretty good job. Guess I should look into gardening shows for the kids.
It's the good Jack!
[He means the Lycanroc.]
[Connie, in the meantime, flies by in the background on her flower, drifting and looking for more items to continue her demonstration with because summer plant care is important.]
no subject
[ harley barks, wagging her tail at the camera as jack turns it around to face her. ]
Dusk form. She's from that egg I got from the Legend Seekers... and she's a brat who likes to bite.
no subject
Sounds like she'll be a good fighter.
[The Floette has moved on to now talking about how sensitive flowers like roses should be trimmed with clean trimmers so they don't spread diseases between bushes.
Hank turns to watch her with a perplexed look as she hovers over his shoulder for her 'Flo' and 'Ette' filled speech. He understands none of it.]

What a helpful little tip.

Flo! Floette flo etteette [Thank you! I like to know that if people can't take care of their plants in the summer, their pokemon can. She had realized that most people can't do the best job of it, not understanding plants as well as some pokemon.]
[But see her blue flower, Pamela! See it! She's been taking super good care of it. She holds it out proudly, to show how good she is at taking care of them.]
no subject
Certainly, many of my own darlings spend their time in the garden with me.
Well, that blossom certainly looks like it's flourishing.
no subject
[Hank can sort of do math here. Connor isn't an android here but he knows what his Magnezone says. Maybe this woman can communicate, too?]
[Connie's too busy going on though, for him to try and ask again.]
It's been my favorite since I hatched. I made it last all winter, even when it got really cold. [She hugs the stem to her, and Hank rubs the top of her tiny head with a couple of fingers because she looks so pleased with herself.] Do you have a big garden?
