LET'S GET TO THE GOOD STUFF! THE PARTY!
THE BUFFET
No, don't worry, Shiro did none of the cooking. He probably coordinated with Hunk and with local delivery places. Fruit is plentiful. Snacks, too -- probably a massive amount of dips to go with them. There's sandwiches, salads (fruit, regular and pasta), rolls, and something that looks like fried tofu. Or whatever the Pokemon world version is. A separate table is set aside for the pokemon -- they're not left out of the buffet! It's covered in treats as well as general food.
Last, but not least, is the dessert table, crowned with a cake, and many, many cupcakes.
A drink cooler is off to one side, and, because this is a Shiro Party, nothing alcoholic is included. It's presided over by a watchful Omanyte. Bribe him with a snack, and maybe he'll overlook you stealing some ice for your beer.
THE GRILL
The meat station! Someone (probably Krieg) has set up a grill for any kind of meat or vegetable. Step up and take your place, claim your spatula and prove yourself a PokeGrill Master! Or snag a burger. Up to you.
BEACH GAMES
It's the beach, so there's gonna be Volleyball. The net may look like a hammock someone "borrowed" from their old landlady, but it works. Hopefully you won't mind sharing the court with some of the local Incineroar. They want to play too... but they're huge. And made of muscle. If volleyball isn't your speed, there's always swimming! The water's clear, beautiful, and full of local fish... pokemon. There are more than a few Spheals bobbing around out there too, in case you need a round, friendly floating device! Or you could build a sandcastle! Go crazy! Just don't set anything on fire.
DANCE???
You know, when there's a party, there's probably music. Someone (read: Blue the Gallade) pulled out a stereo, and started blasting it out over the beach. Maybe he wants to drown out the background music, or maybe he's just being Blue. Either way, now there's music. There's firm sand, or the porch. So get out there and shake it! If you're lucky enough to know a song, then, by all means, karaoke your heart out. No one will judge.
Then, when night falls...
BONFIRE
Of course, as promised, there's a bonfire. The wood has been stacked up all day long, and when the sun sets, one of the local Incineroar sets it alight. It's pretty big. There's plenty of sharpened sticks nearby, as well as big bags of marshmallows. Maybe there's graham crackers and chocolate, somewhere. But mostly, there's marshmallows. Park yourself down and enjoy!
STARGAZING
Matt has set up a telescope a ways from the bonfire. Feel free to observe some of the fantastic celestial things the Islands have to offer! Feeling romantic? There's plenty of room to pull up a blanket and cuddle while you watch the stars. Just... make sure you're far enough from the ocean if you fall asleep. Wouldn't want to get washed away by the high tide.

It seems a bit odd that one of the three places doesn't have the thing people are always talking about.
"Does he usually live with you guys? I know he's been travelling with his friend from home but he was here during Christmas."
no subject
But now he is. He's going to be thinking about it quite a bit.
"Nah, he's usually doing his own thing. But he's always welcome here, just like the rest of you."
no subject
She's still on the fence about going to face the elite group of trainers even if she does get all the badges. Gyms sound hard to run.
"That's nice of you guys. I don't think I want a place to live in one place right now but I like coming up here."
no subject
He's definitely thinking about it now, that's for sure. Maybe even starting to plan.
Good work, Newt.
"Hey, the whole reason I bought it was to make sure you guys had somewhere to fall back on. Whenever you wanted or needed it."
no subject
"I hope nothing bad happens to it."
That....probably sounds super bleak but this is Newt. She really, really does hope that they all have a nice place to stay for a long time.
no subject
And Shiro says it with such absolute confidence. Complete assurance. Because that's just how he is.
"I worked it out. Even if I'm not here tomorrow, this place will stay in the others' hands. And so on."
no subject
"That's good."
Maybe places she likes won't always be destroyed.
no subject
He sits back on his hands, still watching the fire climb into the stars.
"All I wanted was a home for the people who didn't have one... and here we are."
no subject
"It still feels weird. I've been here for over a year and I just keep thinking everything will go away. Maybe if I get more gym badges I won't feel everything is so...."
She pauses because she doesn't really know the word. Fragile, temporary, a brief hiatus in the utter destruction of everyone and thing in her life? Finite? She doesn't know or remember half of those words.
"....sometimes it feels like it could just all break again."
no subject
His expression sobers. And he gently puts an arm around her shoulders. Something solid for her to lean against. Because, really, they can all relate to that, can't they?
Sometimes, he expects to wake up alone in bed, trying to figure out how to put his life back together again.
"I get what you mean. I really do. I... wish there were something more I could do for all of you."
no subject
"But you did. You got a house so people could stay, and you're really nice and you talk to people who want to talk about scary things. You do a lot of things. Not even Ripley could fix everything."
So there you go Shiro. Even Ripley can't fix all the bad things. And in Newt's mind, Ripley can do almost anything.
no subject
"Thanks, Newt. I'll try and keep that in mind."
He reaches up, fluffing at her hair a little. The same way he would for Pidge. Good news, Newt. You've hit Pidge status.
