EV News Broadcast

We bring you this special late-night bulletin from the EV Newsroom, live as the story unfolds in Ecruteak City.
Ever since what has now come to be referred to as the "Alph Incident" in July, concerned parties across both regions have been on the lookout for Suicune, one of Johto's resident Legendary Pokemon-- last seen fleeing the scene, seemingly with its colors drained from its body.
But until approximately three hours ago, there had been no signs of it to be found.
[The footage switches from the reporter (who looks very tired but has an extremely large cup of coffee on her desk) to a shot from Ecruteak City, pointed upwards at the top of the Bell Tower. The town typically enjoys clear skies most of the time, but the entire upper half of the building is shrouded in fog. Or... steam?]
Unusual activity on top of the Bell Tower caught the citizens of Ecruteak's attention earlier this evening, and shortly afterwards one of the resident monks came out to talk with us at EV News, revealing that one of their own had been granted a Rainbow Wing and allowed to climb to the rooftop.
As of about five minutes ago, he has returned, and our correspondent is with him now to learn more about just what's up there.
[Now there's an interviewer standing next to one of the Bell Tower monks, holding up a microphone for him to speak into. The monk doesn't make much of an effort to lean into it, but his voice is deep and projects plenty well even without it.]
It seems that at some point earlier today, Suicune arrived at the Tower. It is gravely unwell, a condition we do not yet understand, but the important thing is that it is being watched over by Ho-Oh. The steam currently shrouding the town is being created by Ho-Oh as well. We do not know if it was for the purpose of keeping its injured child hidden, or some attempt to help heal it-- but what we do know is that just as our Legendary was not too proud to open its wings to us and request aid, we will follow Ho-Oh's example and open the shrine at the base of the Tower to the public.
Offerings of food and written prayers will be accepted starting at sunrise, so that we may present them to Ho-Oh and Suicune in the traditional ways of old.
We hope that in this humble way we can contribute to a quick recovery for Suicune.
Thank you for speaking with us at this late hour. We’ll let you get back to your duties!
[As the monk leaves, the interviewer turns back to the camera.]
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation here. In the meantime, for those traveling, the address you can send donations to will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
[The footage does just that, displaying the Bell Tower’s address as the footage cuts away from the news team and over the crowds of concerned people all curiously milling around the outer walls of the Bell Tower. Morty can be seen, along with Eusine (whose normal air of enthusiasm is completely gone-- he looks ghastly-pale with worry, and won’t take his eyes off of the Tower). The bright white uniforms of Aether Foundation agents stand out like a sore thumb-- there are several of them speaking emphatically to a small group of monks, who all bear grave frowns and are shaking their heads sternly.]
[Eventually the footage cuts back to the newsroom.]
Although that appears to be it for now, we’ll be back with more updates swiftly if anything else comes to light. This is EV News, signing off.
[NOTE: Feel free to thread or make note of any offerings sent in on this post! There’s no win conditions or requirements to be met, but if anyone sends Suicune anything particularly cute or creative as a Get-Well present, we might get to reference it later on!]

Thida can very easily warp to Ecruteak, and she does so, bringing with her a tupperware of dried, safe to eat mushrooms. For an offering. It's like this container just jam packed with mushrooms. To Thida, this is a worthy offering.
She will also spend some time praying at the shrine, as is traditional, and might leave and come back later to try and leave a large reusable shopping bag...of soups. All kinds of soup. Because when you're sick and not feeling well, you have soup, right? And orange juice. There's that, too.
Okay, not orange juice, it's Poke-Sunny D, but for her it's close enough.]
By popular demand!
Some might consider this offering a bit weird, but Armin hopes Suicune will recognise it; it's a slightly dented tea kettle, one that Suicune itself once nicked. Despite the dents, it's clearly well-loved and well taken care of. Along with the kettle, there is also a pair of cups, their glazing clearly inspired by the ocean. There is not just the kettle and cups though! There are various packages of herbal teas, the sort meant to strengthen the body and improve one's health, all gotten from the herbal hermit in Celadon city.
After all, what use is a kettle without tea?
There is also a small handwritten card tucked into one of the cups.
'I'm afraid I'm not sure how to pray. I've never been good at that sort of thing. I guess I really am too much of a heretic. But I hope you will recover soon. I wasn't sure what might help a being like you recover, but I always kind of thought that maybe you just really like tea and that that is why you took my kettle before. I hope it helps. - Armin']

So with the Sobble leading the way, helped by a tired, sad Marcel (a slobbery chew-toy, one he's been self-soothing with is in the package along with a firm print of a paw), Annie's team sends a package with various fresh foods for the region they're in, a woven bracelet of Absol mane fur, Leonine mane fur, Gogoat mane fur, and a decorative feather from Arlert the Hoothoot, comes attacked to a paw-drawn image of a certain Sobble collecting a rainbow and its raindrops to give them in somewhat interpretive hug-form to Suicune, who's been drawn as if they're dripping darker toward the ground, like they'd tramped through ashes. A few tear marks are somewhat artistically worked into the water droplets of the rain, and a small few toed print signs the drawing in the corner.
"Sobble wants you to feel better soon, and I think say thank you to Ho-oh for their help in turn. They keep bursting into tears seeing rainbows in the morning dew, which is a form of prayer, given how hard they stare in the direction of the Bell Tower after.
Recover."
Prayer isn't anything she indulges in even for those she knows and cares about, so a blunt estimate of what they should do is the best that's coming, along with Sobble's drawing and the woven bracelet (made big pokemon ankle large, not human size) along with food is all that comes delivered to the monks for their purposes. Leave the praying to the ones with a lifetime skill in the pursuit therein. ]

Who knows if this counts as an offering or not, but there's an audio track recorded and mailed along with a lyric sheet.
What's a deified animal to a universe mechanical, what I see's a broken cog in a system automagical.
]I'd be lying to say I believed, too much a reach to offer the reprieve that you need.
But with your ailment severe
Your people revere
With a devotion so real, you can feel
It just might let you heal
From your ignominious plight, I heard the future ain't bright
Cause you're sick as a dog, just a real sorry sight.
But one god to another, I give you my word
If by prayer you repair then that power's transferred.

...Aside from sending a few rage candy bars, she's made some sort of little bag and tied it nicely shut. It's...
Got a note that says not to open it. It's an omamori! Made with plenty of love from both Carly and all her pokemon- she even had her salazzle go over the webbing strings her joltik made, to make sure no sparks were left. It's not much, but Carly doesn't really have much to give, so she tried her best to at least make it something that mattered.]
late but heck it
But actually they're not, they're made of chocolate. It comes with a note thanking Suicune for its guardianship and please get well soon.
"With love,
Botan" is the signature.]

...okay maybe it's not completely anonymous, but there's nothing immediately tying it to any particular trainer, at least.]
