Ultra October: Conclusion
The first sign that the end is near is the spiderweb of cracks appearing in the windows separating the frozen chamber from the one that the battle is taking place in.
For the first time since the fighting began, Lusamine turns back towards the window in shock, smile disappearing as she lets out a gasp of distress.
Then the window shatters under the pressure of the water building up on the other side, sending shards of glass pattering to the floor only to be immediately followed by a gush of frigid seawater flowing into the room, sweeping anyone not braced against a large Pokemon or U.B. back against the far wall. Fortunately, once the initial wave happens, what's left in the room is only about waist-height. The control panel is all shorted out (good thing there were plenty of Electric-type Pokemon around to absorb all the sparks!) and emergency lights are blinking all around.
After presumably first checking to make sure you and your Pokemon are all in one piece, the next natural place to look is the now-open chamber... where a much clearer shape is now visible in the remaining ice.
A faint green glow pulses through the blue... and so does an even fainter cry.
At that, each and every Ultra Beast in the room drops what they're doing and rushes forward, flying or leaping through the shattered window to start attacking the ice-- but much more carefully than they'd been trying to smash into the Aether building earlier.
When Lusamine, drenched and not looking nearly as spooky as when she was bathed in blue light and commanding her team like a well-oiled machine, sits up with water sloshing her hair around and sees what's happening, she lets out a piercing wail.
"NO!!"
But the core of the ice is already cracking, and finally the imprisoned captive inside becomes visible...

A mass choir of humming and blinking lights goes up from all of the Beasts-- this is it, this is what they've been looking for.
It was never an invasion-- it was a rescue mission.
"--THIS IS THE POLI-- ... holy moly, is everyone okay down here?!"
At last, the law has caught up with the eager masses who first swarmed the building... delayed first by safely evacuating the island residents and fleeing employees, then dealing with any stragglers who still were putting up a fight (and then, judging by the bumps, bruises, and unusual substances splattered all over them, having to fight their way through the many booby traps that someone laid all over the building). With flashlights shining into the room, the Jennies can't help but gape at the sight of the massive, bigger-than-any-seen-before Ultra Beast in the chamber and the bedraggled crowd of trainers who fought to free it.
The lead Jenny, after a moment of astonished silence, reaches down for her radio.
"This is the Chief, we're, uh... gonna need some backup relief down here."

It was easy to lose track of time down in the windowless lower levels of the Foundation, but by the time everyone's made it back up to the surface, Halloween night has receded into a drizzly, gray-skied November 1st dawn. While the Headquarters are pretty much in shambles (and certainly still bustling with activity as police and Pokemon League investigators comb the place), the complete and utter bedlam from before has subsided...
The Ultra Beasts cluster together around Celesteela, who emerged from the ocean like a gleaming skyscraper and floated gracefully to an area free of debris before coming to rest in the center of the busted-open biodome and then not budging-- apparently being frozen solid for months on end isn't something to pop right back from, even for a UB.
The rescue and relief efforts are still there, ready to pass out foil blankets and administer medical aid to anyone hurt or exhausted from the entire venture, and eager to pass along the good news that all the Pokemon previously housed in the biodome were safely evacuated along with their rehabilitators and are currently in protective custody of the Pokemon League.
As for what's become of the Aether Foundation... well.
While the lower-level employees who just did grunt-work or worked in Pokemon rehab were free to go (with the understanding that they might be needed for questioning later), there's no small number of higher-ups... including Faba and Lusamine... who were led away in handcuffs.
The Jennies may not know what to do about the Ultra Beasts, but they know what to do with criminals, and by Arceus, some kind of crime was committed here! Probably even multiple crimes!!
As for everybody else, a number of local villagers start trickling back in once word reaches them that the chaos is over, and Sevii Islanders all over the seven islands are opening their homes to trainers who helped out in the chaos. For anyone too tired to make the trip back to the mainland just yet, there are soft beds and home-cooked food waiting for you and your Pokemon!
After so much excitement, it would seem that at least for the moment, all's well that ends well...
... Or is it?
North of Cerulean City, 4 Hours Earlier...
The Aether Foundation building wasn't the only place that was experiencing... disturbances. While most everyone had rallied to where the Ultra Beasts had gathered, someone had needed to see what could be done about all of the high leveled Pokemon fleeing through Cerulean City en masse.
And not only because Nidoking and Rhydon were suddenly overwhelming the wild Sandshew and Bellsprouts--not to mention the woefully unprepared Youngsters and Bug Catchers and those hikers just trekking out of Mt Moon. No, whatever was making these reclusive Pokemon leave their home must be bad. Worse than the narrowly-averted disaster with Mewtwo that had gotten Cerulean Cave shut off from the public thirteen years ago.
There's only one group of people who've been allowed into the harrowing tunnels ever since: the Elite Four.
So at the very same time as most eyes were on the horde of Ultra Beasts and trainers alike descending on the Aether Foundation, Dragonmaster Lance and the rest of the Elite Four were descending further and further into the caves. Until, in the deepest cavern where Mewtwo had once made its home...
They found something else.

Dragonmaster Lance isn't sure whether he's awake again or not until a weight lays itself across his chest. He lifts a hand and encounters the familiar round snout of his Dragonite, who puffs against it reassuringly. Turning his head, he can see the prone shapes of the rest of his team-- the rest of all their teams-- scattered where they fell. He can only see Karen from this angle, and one of Will’s legs sticking out from behind a rock, but he doesn’t think any of them are conscious at all. The harsh light from the wormhole in the center of the cavern has bathed all of them in electric blue, but even then it’s disturbingly obvious that there’s no other color in any of them at all. It had all been sucked away.
The being they’d found clawing itself into this world had retreated, but the victory had been far too costly--and even then, Lance thinks he can see some looming form just beyond the portal, waiting. It would be back soon.
“I’m so sorry, old friend.”
Dragonite nudges at his hand again, and as Lance drifts back out of consciousness, he can hear a pair of distinct roars echoing through the tunnels, growing closer.
Raikou and Entei.
At the familiar sound, he can't help but feel relief... but also fear that they’ll meet the same fate.
