YOU ARRIVE
Just walk on up to the house. You'll be greeted by an Aggron and a Spheal. Both of them are wearing shiny bowties. Or one of the couple running around. Shiro in all white, Matt in navy blue. They both look a little harried. After a cursory check over, you'll be shown to the beach by one of the two. To the beach, where...
THERE IS A CEREMONY
... where you're faced with a pretty simplistic twist on a wedding setup. There's a scattering of folding chairs on each side, with a Tropius standing on one side of the aisle, and a Steelix on the other. Both pokemon are holding up palm leaves to shade people from the sun if need be. They're big enough to. If you're early enough, you can probably see Allura, looking radiant as ever, waiting at the arch. Better hurry and relax. It won't be long.
The ceremony probably won't be long either, knowing these guys. So just relax, this is the easy part for the guests. If you cry, one of the pokemon will probably hand you a tissue.
AND THEN COMES THE PARTY
There's no real table setup. Sometime during the end of the ceremony, some of the more handy pokemon -- ie. those who have hands -- have managed to put out the food. There is ... so much fruit. So much. There's other stuff, too. Little sandwiches, both meat and vegetarian. And, you know, seafood. Of course, there's dessert. Things that look like s'more makings, cookies. There's also the adorable wedding cake -- but that's off limits until the couple get to it. If you want a drink? Don't worry, plenty of that too. Hope you don't mind if they're all pokemon themed... and try not to drink too many of them. You'll want to be able to walk before you hit the dance floor!
... WITH DANCING
Up closer to the house, where the sand flattens out into a more even surface, one of those portable dance floors is set up. A big stereo system accompanies it, along with strings of white lights -- attached to torches. It's all very pretty and simple. So grab your partner, or bust your move out there on your own. No one is judging except some extremely judgmental Voltorbs clustered around the stereo system. Watching or powering it, we just don't know.
Then, when night falls...
A BONFIRE
Everyone is welcome to keep dancing or snacking away, but, true to form, the household's pokemon have piled up enough fuel for an epic bonfire. They've also dug a deep enough hole in the sand, so as to make sure nothing else catches on fire. Once it's dark enough, Krieg will likely be summoned to fire it up -- pun intended. Grab some marshmallows from the dessert table, and start roasting away. Or just sit back and relax. Maybe someone grabbed a hotdog from the house kitchen... or maybe someone's going to start another disastrous game of "Never Have I Ever". But we hope not.
MAYBE STARGAZING
Since this is one big nerd party, of course there's going to be a telescope set up. It's a fair distance up the beach, however, so as the bonfire doesn't mess with the view. It's a pretty decent telescope, too, set out on a blanket. A little folding chair sits with it, a basket of star charts beside it. They appear to have been made for the day, with the stars labeled in the positions they fall in the sky. Feel free to keep one! There's plenty!

[ so. you may be sitting while the ceremony is going on, completely touched and moved by the love between the two grooms...
but it turns out there's a certain someone who doesn't look happy to be here. no, it isn't romelle. it's the angry-looking hamster sitting in her lap. romelle herself looks very nervous and on-edge, and her fingers are tight around the pokemon. occasionally it makes squeaky grumbling noises in her lap and romelle immediately covers its mouth. ]
Shh, Burger! Stop it!
[ sorry shiro and matt. you may notice a set of glowing red eyes glaring at you throughout your ceremony. anyone else is welcome to try to help her calm the little one down. ]

[ romelle's looking rather radiant tonight. there's a colorful flower piece in her hair to accompany her floral pink dress and glass-like heels. her morpeko, now a happy camper, is perched up on her shoulder and greeting everyone romelle sees with a little squeak. ]
What a lovely ceremony! It's the first time I've ever experienced a human wedding before...it's wonderful, isn't it?
[ and to any of her friends, romelle will smile and put her hands behind her back. ] You look lovely, by the way.

[ for a more frantic option, you're welcome to help romelle get her hangry mode morpeko away from all the food. burger the morpeko is...currently trying to scurry out of romelle's grasp towards the cookies, but it looks like she's already managed to tear through almost an entire plate of them. whoops. ]

[ after the burger fiasco, romelle decides to head to the dance floor for a little reprieve. (hopefully she wouldn't have been kicked out of the wedding by now.) she doesn't want to dance alone, though, and she thinks being with a friend might make for a nice moment.
she'll approach any of her friends, whether it's a friend from home or johto; the music varies from either something catchy and upbeat to slow and romantic. it really doesn't matter to her. she just wants to have fun with the people she cares about.

Armin, meanwhile, had been turned away, trying to pick a drink from the ones on offer, and by the time he glances back at Mika, he's missed the run-up to the event, only seeing his pokemon restraining another pokemon.]

[ Once the ceremony is done and Allura has declared the grooms husbands, she's finally able to relax. Will you mingle with her at the party? She looks like she's having a fun time--laughing and chatting, a broad pink lily tucked behind her ear with a rhinestone pin. ]
I'm so pleased everything went well. I've been excited for this wedding for weeks now! Are you enjoying yourself?
[ And of course something unexpected is bound to happen. The egg she's been carting around for weeks now finally decides to hatch just as the festivities begin, revealing a shiny baby bounsweet. Allura will probably spend half the night carrying the little pokemon around on her hip before putting it to bed. ]
Dancing:
[ Once her hands are free, Allura returns for a spin on the dance floor. Even if she's not very familiar with you, she'll likely accept an invitation to dance. She might not know all the moves but she's a fast learner, and she's naturally graceful enough to bluff her way through most dances. ]
I've been told that the humans call this "slicing a carpet" but how is that relevant when we're on a wooden dance floor?
[ She might even approach you, hand extended in invitation. ]

[ Allura's been on the camping trail long enough to know what s'mores are. You can find her roasting marshmallows at the edge of the fire, barefoot in the sand.
Later on in the evening you might find her trekking up the beach to the spot in the sand where a telescope has been set up to observe the celestial bodies. No matter where she is, she'll never turn down the opportunity to observe the local system. ]

Krieg - OTA
The ceremony had been beautiful; literally everything Krieg had never expected from a wedding, because the only wedding he can remember attending prior to this one happened between two Goliaths on Pandora, and it probably goes without saying that that had ended poorly.
Krieg is all dressed up in a tuxedo shirt - look, he may hate shirts, but he had to put in the effort, okay? It’s his buddy’s big day! He’s still wearing his mask, of course, which makes eating a little tricky, but he’s commited to his aesthetic so he does alright for himself.
Completely clashing with the aforesaid aesthetic is the sleek, cheerful-looking Sylveon draped around his neck. The Sylveon is wearing a tiny, dapper bowtie.
“…Honey Bee, knock it off!”
Is Krieg talking to you? Or to your plate? Oh, snap, was that a Cutiefly in your dessert? Or your fruit plate? Or your…whatever? Yeah, yeah, it sure was. The tiny insect buzzes off immediately, zooming away to flutter innocently around Krieg’s head. He squints at her, perhaps in some attempt to cow her into better behavior (spoilers - it won’t work very well), before looking back to the plate, and the person holding it.
“Did she touch your food?”
DANCING
There are a pair of mean-looking Electrodes joining the Voltorbs crowding the stereo system. The size difference between the two is kind of silly; one is an exceptionally large specimen, close to four and a half feet in height, while the other is kind of runty - it’s maybe three feet, if that. The runty one rolls over to the Voltorb gang and immediately begins cackling and sparking with what sounds suspiciously like orders. The big one doesn’t say much of anything, just watches silently as some of the Voltorb crew splits off and rolls away.
What are they up to? What did the runty Electrode tell them to do? Who can say?
Well, Blitz can say, but he’s not telling.
Krieg is standing off to one side, out of the way, but in a good place to observe both the dancing and his pair of asshole murder balls. Seriously you two, have fun, but don’t cause any trouble, okay?
BONFIRE
It’s Krieg’s time!
Or, well, it’s Polo’s time.
Once upon a time, Krieg came into possession of a set of Chippendales accouterment - starched white collar, cuffs, and black bowtie. He’s not wearing those today - no, today, that honor belongs to Polo the Incineroar.
“Light the fire, beefcake!”
Polo is all too happy to oblige; he takes a deep breath, puffing out his prodigious chest, and lets loose with a truly spectacular Flamethrower - The bonfire, primed by Krieg’s expert hand, catches alight immediately.
“Nice!”
Polo puffs up his chest again, this time with pride at the praise. Normally he would take this opportunity to tackle Krieg into the sand and initiate a tussle, but he’d been told several times to be on his best behavior today. No wrestling allowed as long as Krieg is wearing a shirt. Or as long as Adorababy is draped around Krieg’s neck, because the Sylveon is still in his favorite spot.

He should have caught up to his friend sooner, but hey. There's a lot of people here. And Shiro's tried to meet them all at least once. Not to mention making time for his... his husband. Wow.

Haru - OTA
[Coming here with Romelle was a good idea, even if she still... doesn't really know people outside of her group too well. So, for the most part, she's keeping to herself, her Mimikyu close to her feet, as she almost anxiously smooths out wrinkles in her dress.
That isn't to say she's unfriendly, though. Anyone who looks over to her or approaches will get a friendly wave as she either fails to notice or pointedly ignores the shadowy limbs of her starter sneaking another cookie off her plate.]
B - Dancing
[Further cons of not really knowing people at this wedding: Haru looking awkward as she lingers at the edge of the dance floor. She'd like to dance, but she's looking a little lost without someone to dance with. Poke her while she's hesitating?]
C - Bonfire
[Haru looks significantly more relaxed at the point the bonfire's lit, but that might be attributed to her being tired, if the way she's sunk down into a seat is any indication. In addition to her Mimikyu being out, her Murkrow is perched nearby. Haru herself seems rather intent on making s'mores, the Ghost-type snuggled up to her side already chowing down on one. If anyone wanders close enough, Haru looks over with a smile.]
This has been quite a wonderful time, hasn't it?

She sidles towards the other girl slowly, making small steps over the course of the next fifteen minutes, trying to think of what to say. Asking to dance is definitely out of the question: the curly haired girl is a stranger and Sasha's doesn't even know how to dance to begin with. The next best thing is hopefully a conversation.]
I have one too. [The sentence hangs there for a moment before Sasha realizes it's not clear what "one" is.] A Mimikyu. I mean, a Mimikyu. I have one too.

[considering the first and last wedding keith had ever been to was a wedding on daibazaal, this is all pretty new. if he looks uncomfortable, it's probably because he is. instead of showing up in pajamas like he'd initially thought, he's had his arm twisted into wearing this suit -- yes with those damn gloves on and the boots allura got him for christmas. but that's not all! perched on top of his head is this little guy just s t a r i n g
shortly after the cake is cut, keith makes his way over to the podium, tapping on the mic. he clears his throat to get everyone's attention. thankfully regris has been deposited with romelle for just a few moments.]
Uh...hi. I'm Keith. I don't usually like doing this kind of thing, but it looks like my best friend just got married so I gotta make some exceptions. [he pauses, looking towards the newlyweds with a grin.] Honestly, I kinda freaked out when Shiro asked me to do this, because I don't know what's supposed to go into these speeches. The ones I usually have to give are short, to the point. Y'know things like... "We have to work together as a team. We have to believe in each other. The universe is counting on us." But thinking about it... I guess the reason for those speeches has a lot to do with the reason we're all gathered here today... so that we can celebrate life, love and those we want to share it with.
[he takes a deep breath.]
When I first met Shiro, he was a recruiting officer for the Galaxy Garrison. He actually had a full head of dark hair back then, believe it or not. Though he had every reason not to give me a chance, he did anyway and ended up changing my life forever. He made, not just me, but everyone around him believe in themselves and push themselves to do their best. He's a lot of things to many people -- a good friend, a leader, but to me he's my brother.
.....Which is why I'm glad that he's found someone who can actually make him relax from time to time. Meeting Matt for the first time back at the Garrison, I thought he was the nerdiest guy I'd ever met, but he was always relaxed and easy to talk to. There's a lot I've missed about their relationship here because I came to Johto last summer, but I know that through all those years they've been here, Shiro always had someone to talk to, someone to share all the best and worst days with. In a way, I guess nothing's changed because that's how it'd been, even back home. Nobody could have predicted how the Kerberos mission would go, but I'm happy that it ended with a new journey -- the rest of your lives together.
So Pidge? Lance? Get out of the house from time to time so Shiro and Matt can have some peace and quiet.
[grinning, he gives shiro and matt a nod.]
Congratulations, you guys. Couldn't be happier for you.
[And with that speech given, he's just going to get away from the podium and sit the hell back down on his seat.]

» Sasha - OTA
nodancing[Sasha's never been to a wedding before, not even a small one. Most people back in the tiny village where she's from just "say" they're married or if they're feeling a little fancy, jump over a broom that's about to be reused to sweep the house. There were definitely no one saying a speech or flowers or even a party.
So the first thing that occurs to her during the ceremony is that she's woefully, terribly, awfully underdressed. Even the forever shirtless Krieg is in a suit. Changing isn't an option because she doesn't even own anything fancy anyway. Maybe if she stays towards the back, she'll won't stick out so badly. Because this is Mr. Shiro and Mr. Matt's fancy thing and her ruining it by continuing to be a country bumpkin is not an idea Sasha's fond of.
So she'll be here, along the side of the house, many steps away from the center of the party with a large plate of food and a Togepi with his own plate next to her, sitting on the ground by the infamous sand hole. At least watching others dance is entertaining. Those are some amazingly weird steps they're doing.]

[It's been a while since Yuuko last went to a wedding. She's been to a couple of friends' weddings, and of course, there was her own wedding several years ago. Hers had been fairly simple since she and Takeshi had been pretty young when they tied the knot, so she doesn't mind that this one is simple as well. In the end, all that matters is that the couple will be happy together.
She's dressed up for this, and brought Ina the Tsareena with her since she knows Ina will appreciate the warmer weather on the islands more than the snow in Mahogany Town. While she's genuinely happy for Shiro, she finds herself missing Takeshi more than ever when he isn't here to dance with her. For now, she'll just watch everyone else.]
Ina, do you want to do any dancing? [The Tsareena shakes her head, much preferring to soak up the rays of the sun than do any weird human dancing.]
Stargazing
[After the festivities are over, Yuuko has wrapped herself and Ina in a blanket so they can look at the stars. She hasn't used the telescope yet, being content to simply look at up at them. Even Ina, who was disinterested in the party beforehand, is looking up at the sky with a sense of awe.]
Aren't they incredible? [This time, Ina nods in agreement.]

Nimble! What did I say about trying to trip people? Sorry about that, she thinks dancing is just a new way she can get people to fall on their face.

Bonfire/Stars
[You can find Maya in both places in the evening.

Party
One good thing about a party like this is that it is a good opportunity to see all the people he cares about face to face. If nothing else, the whole affair with the wormholes and the creature that invaded this world had been a stark reminder that even this world, as peaceful and calm as it seemed, could face danger. It made for a good reminder to not take things for granted. After all, they might not always be there.
So, when Armin spots Maya, he's definitely going over to talk to her. He is wearing a blue linen suit (though it's a beach wedding, so the jacket and waistcoat have been left inside), a shirt with an embroidered flower on it and a blue bowtie with constellations on it. Stars and flowers? It's not really a sensible sort of combination, but considering the grooms in questions, Armin felt that this bowtie really fitted the wedding if nothing else.]

[Before? Shiro looks like he has 400 things on his mind. All at once. He's basically fluttering from one side of the house to the other. Like there are five thousand things on his mind and he doesn't know which way to go first. Luckily, there's still plenty of time before things get started, there's no immediate rush to get anything done... but he's panicking a little anyway. Please stop him. Or save him.]
THE PARTY
[... he did it. He actually did it. They did it. They did it. They're official. They're married. And when he comes back to himself, he's not able to keep the grin off his face. Not even for a moment. If you're Matt, you're going to be swept up into a hug that's going to last for what seems like hours. Or, if you're anyone else... yeah, you're getting a hug too.]
[Catch him piling up a plate, or drinking a fancy bottled root beer (it looks like alcohol cut him some slack).]
[Or maybe he's going to ask you for a dance? Again, he has one reserved for his -- his husband, wow. But it's a big party. There's plenty of time for him to dance with all comers.]
BONFIRE
[As if the wedding itself wasn't enough, Shiro's got to say something more. Something further. It's important. And for once, while he gives this particular speech, he's beaming.]
[Once the bonfire is lit, he steps forward. Tapping his metal fingers on the edge of his drink bottle in lieu of a fork and a glass. Once people look his way, he takes a deep breath... and...]
I'll try and keep this from being a monologue -- it's getting late, and I don't want to keep anyone too long. You've all got lives here, after all.
[The smile turns a little more solemn, for a moment, as if he's lost in thought. And then brightens once more.]
I never thought I'd be able to have something like this. A lot of things have happened to both of us since I met Matt. More than even I can remember. So I really didn't think it was possible to have someone who cared about me like this -- someone willing to put up with everything I can't fix, everything I try to fix, and all the craziness of a war in the middle of space. But, somehow, this place gave me that chance. Gave me a second chance with someone I've cared about, very much, for a long time. And I couldn't be more grateful for that.
Or that he felt the same way.
[Another pause, another inhale.]
I'm not the person I used to be. I don't think I could ever be that person again. But he doesn't mind -- if anything, it just makes him want to bring out what bits of the old me are still left. I'm thankful for that, too.
Last of all, I needed to thank you for being here. I'm grateful for each and every one of you -- beyond words. The fact you're here, that you're willing to come and see this through with us, I can't thank you enough. Even if you're only a guest of someone, thank you. I mean it, truly. Right now, he's trying to keep up with Shiro's frantic pacing from room to room, not yet dressed to the nines (it's still early, after all; if he'd put on his nice clothes now, they'd just be at risk of getting stained or rumpled), armed with a notebook and pen. The notebook has got little coloured tabs poking from it and lists. Oh, it has so many lists. Armin's got lists for his lists and he's going to make sure that everything goes as planned.
Which probably means keeping the groom from fretting himself into an early heart attack.]

[While he had extended his hand in possible friendship towards Shiro months before when he'd first-- actually, arrived for the second time, but that was getting into the realm of semantics-- they'd never really met or talked since. He was here now because Armin had invited him, not because he was hoping to create a relationship with someone who knew the old him.]
[The whole affair struck him as kind of odd. Weddings were a time to celebrate back home too, but they weren't quite as extravagant as this. And... Two men? While homosexuality was far from unheard of on Paradis, those who were so inclined generally didn't marry. As Jean remembered it, marraige was more of a joining of two families and a promise of a new generation than a simple declaration of love.]
[Still, he wasn't about to bring his misgivings up to someone that he didn't trust. He was in a new world now. Rules and traditions were different. He might as well start getting used to it.]
[After the ceremony, he snacked on the food (no sweets, they were still a bit much for his palate) and had a Skarmory-styled drink since it smelled the least like fruit and more like straight-up booze. Then he stalked around the dance floor with guarded interest-- he was unfamiliar with nearly all the moves people were making, so he didn't have and urge to take part.]
[He really didn't settle down until the bonfire. He had some... unpleasant associations with the concept, but it had been a long time since that particular night. He sat down close enough to get warm, but still apart from the main group of people, a second or third drink in his hand. It occurred to him that being a lone wolf at a wedding was pretty lame, but since when was he any good at making friends? He'd been hanging out with the same schmucks he first met in the Corps his whole damn life. He had to resign himself to this existence.]

[There is a slight whuff as Armin drops down onto the sand besides Jean, carefully balancing a drink that is bright and bubbly and probably far more alcoholic than its innocent appearance would suggest. The faint flush on his cheeks indicates that this isn't his first glass of... whatever this is.
(It's actually his second; his tolerance is piss-poor.)
Looks like Armin's second encounter with alcohol is going a lot better than his first about a year ago. It's probably because unlike the booze Krieg had given him a swallow of, this stuff didn't taste like ass. And between that and the general atmosphere here, it looks like Armin is in a very cheery mood.]

[As the sister of one of the grooms, Pidge had of course been named Matt's Best Sibling/Sibling of Honor for his wedding. And in spite of all her social anxiety, she's done her best to play the part. She's even dressed appropriately (with Lance's help, of course) in a dark tuxedo with a green waistcoat and bowtie, her bangs clipped neatly to one side.
After the ceremony's done, once the cake has been cut, and after Keith has given his speech... Well, Pidge gets up and moves to the front to deliver a speech of her own. Pidge is a ball of nervous energy. She're more or less gotten used to being close to the center of attention back home as a paladin of Voltron, but this is nothing like that. She taps at the mic, draws in a breath to steady herself, and then manages to smile out at the crowd.]
Sorry in advance for this, Keith is gonna be a tough act to follow here... But anyway, for those of you who don't know who I am... Hi. I'm Matt's little sister, Pidge, and... Well, he kind of made the mistake of letting me be able to speak at his wedding. [She directs her smile over at her brother here, a slight grimace of apology in her expression as she reaches into her jacket pocket to pull out the slip of paper she's written her speech on.] So... Here we go.
My brother always dreamed of going out into space and becoming one of the first humans to make alien contact. He used to joke that he'd find love out among the stars, with someone from another planet, and I would tell him that only an alien could fall in love with someone as ridiculously dorky as him. The thing is, he did accomplish his dream. He went out into space, met aliens, and fell in love on another planet... It just happened to be with the pilot that took him out there in the first place.
Matt... I couldn't be happier for you if I tried. Seeing you here with Shiro, seeing how happy and fulfilled the both of you are together... It's amazing. And even though I tease you about him a lot, and even though you're both still phenomenally bad at romance and planning your own wedding and all that, I know how much you've grown and changed for the better since getting together. You've always had a big brain with a lot of big ideas, but you've also got a big heart and a lot of love to give. I'm glad that you have someone to share both of them with.
So-- [She folds up her speech and reaches for a little champagne glass, raising it in the air for a toast.] Congratulations to you both! And make sure you lock the bedroom door tonight.
[And with one final, teasing smirk, she sips from her glass and moves back to her seat.]
PARTY / DANCING
[For the most part, Pidge is keeping to her smaller group of friends. She ventures away from them every now and then to get more food or drinks, and everyone keeps taking turns rushing out onto the dance floor so occasionally she's left to her own devices just watching all the guests enjoy themselves. Whenever the music gets too loud she retreats to a spot where it's a little quieter, but her attention remains, for the most part, on all of her friends. Of course, anyone is welcome to join in on the wallflowering. It may just take a second for Pidge to realize she's not alone.]
STARGAZING
[This is much more Pidge's speed. As soon as night falls and the telescope appears, Pidge is right there to be part of the stargazing. If she's not peering through the telescope she's sitting in the sand near it, leaning back with her head tilted toward the sky so she can just stare up at the heavens. She doesn't need the star charts, after all.
Anyone who comes up to join her will be greeted with a relaxed smile.] Did you come here for the peace and quiet?

[Shiro was very wrong. As usual. He was drinking, and he chokes on the liquid in his mouth for a good few moments as she finishes. There's a couple muffled questions, a, "Shiro don't."]
[A few moments later, there's a hand on Pidge's shoulder.]

[Of course any excuse to dress up and look good while doing so is an excuse for Lance to probably overdo it. He's not going to outshine any of the grooms which is why he's at least taken off the jacket of his three-piece suit, something he spent a sizeable amount of his Pokedollars on not only buying but tailoring to fit his spaghetti limbs. The added sunglasses are not only functional in the beach sun, but fashionable because nothings says "I'm so fuckin' cool" than sunglasses and a suit.
Every so often, perhaps someone can catch his eyes lingering a little too long on Allura, but most times he's eyeing Pidge with a hand in his pocket as if he's making sure something in there doesn't fall out. Maybe he is. Maybe he's just making sure he has enough tissue on standby because Lance is the crier at this wedding. Someone has to be the dramatic one.
They come in handy much earlier than expected after one too many Boozy Bellsprouts from the bar and Lance finds himself tearing up at Keith and Pidge's speeches. Not one to be left out of rambling on a hot mic, he moves into the place Pidge vacates and grabs the spotlight like the Leo he is.]
You guys are probably sick of speeches, but too bad, I got one more for ya. [A few people laugh politely because who's going to tell him to sit down? Keith, probably.] Listen, I can't say I've known Shiro or Matt as long as Keith or Pidge have, but they're still important to me. When I was feeling like I didn't have a place in anything, Shiro believed in me. When I felt like I was dead weight, Shiro told me he was proud of me. When I felt like he had no reason to be proud of me, Shiro still was. Shiro means more to me than I could ever tell him and now that Matt is here and makes him happy in the way he should be, Matt is just as important too. I'm glad they found each other because seeing them around each other makes me kinda envious.
[Lance laughs at his own joke but then realizes his mouth is going farther than his brain planned to, so he pulls the mic away from his mouth and takes a deep breath before bringing it up to speak again.]
Anyway, and there's nothing more I would love than to wish him and Matt years of happiness, the kind we'll all be grossed out by because we live in the same house and they're old farts by now, but they deserve it anyway and someone's gotta check each other's dentures at night.
[A sage nod and Lance gives up the mic to whoever decides they need to be the emcee next, but somewhere in that noggin of his, a light bulb flickers to light. He turns around for a second, grabs the microphone and leans into it to blurt out:]
Oh, and Matt? Thanks for letting me date your sister.

[Lance is feeling even more loose and nimble than he usually is from all those cocktails (and open bar around someone who knows he won't be carded is a bad idea.) Unfortunately, this means he decides he's King of the Dancefloor and if anybody wants to step up for a different kind of battle, they're more than welcome.
And if they want to step up to pull him off to the side before he starts looking like someone's drunk uncle at the family party while going around to people and asking for a dance, they are probably not only welcome, but required to at this point.]

Of course Lance has to go and wrap up his time on the mic with that, and her face practically bursts into flames. It's simultaneously embarrassing and hilarious, and as soon as Lance come back within arm's reach she's quick to smack him in the arm. Hard.
And then she follows that up by hiding her flushed face against his chest.]
