EV News Broadcast

[The cheery jingle announces it is time for another EV news broadcast. It opens on an almost homey setting, the broadly smiling presenter sitting in one seat, while another young, equally smiling woman sits on a sofa, accompanied by a Type: Null, which has its spiky green forelegs tucked over her lap.]

Welcome to another edition of the EV news. Today I am joined in the studio by Erika Eigenharp, a representative of Silph Co.'s Type: Null project, along her own personal Null, Nova.

Welcome to the studio, Erika. [a smile.] And Nova, too, of course.

Thank you, we're happy to be here!

[Desperate not to have another incident on television, it looks like Silph Co. has decided to replace poor Professor Theramin with a more charming and camera-sure alternative. After all, they've been on the news quite a lot as of late... so they're eager to steer the attention away from lingering Aether-related drama.]

Now, I've been told you have a big announcement for us today!

That's right. As you know, it's two and a half years since we first introduced Type: Null to the public. In those two and a half years, countless trainers have generously donated their time and skills to our project by becoming Beta-Testers. It's their efforts that have allowed us to learn more about our dear new friends... [Here she strokes the helmet of the Type: Null laying next to her on the couch.] ...and what they are capable of, than any labwork or controlled experiments ever could have.

But of course, such open-ended field research does have downsides.

As you know, we have seen some returns from trainers who previously signed up to be Beta-Testers... and of course there are also situations in which someone might suddenly be unable to carry on training their Null despite wanting to. In all such cases, Silph Co. has a very strict repossession policy when it comes to the wellbeing of our Type: Nulls, and we've always made sure that any Null that didn't have that perfect match with their trainer was taken back into our fold to be cared for. A rare occurrence,
[She is quick to assure] But one that happens nonetheless. It is how Nova and I met, in fact.

[The Null at her side purrs, laying its helmeted head against her arm.]

Despite some bumps in the road, we at Silph Co. have always envisioned a future in which these highly adaptable Pokemon are available to every home and family. And today, I'm happy to announce we taking another step on the road to making that future come through.

Starting today, in addition to our Type: Null Beta-Tester program, we are now opening our doors to our new Type: Null adoption initiative entitled: 'A Null For Every Home and A Home For Every Null.'

Through this partner program, Nulls that were abandoned or orphaned by their original trainers will have the opportunity to go home to families and trainers all over the regions. And, of course, it means those families and trainers will finally be able to own one of these amazing Pokemon.

[She smiles at the presenter, seemingly anticipating her question.]

And yes, I do mean all trainers and families. While Type: Null obtained through our Beta Tester program will still come with a six badge requirement, there are no requirements to adopt one of our Type: Nulls through our adoption program.

Nothing except a lot of love!

Exactly! You see, through the use of our new patented Safe Home technology, each Null adopted through our adoption program has been made fit for life in every type of home, regardless of their type-- no need to worry about your new best friend trying to Tackle your sofa into submission! Whatever roles they originally filled, these Nulls will have no taste for battle. A well-earned retirement in a loving home are what these Nulls need, not any more fights.

Lovely words, Erika. Especially now that we don't seem to be under threat of any more attacks from "Ultra Beasts from Beyond", I'm sure these Nulls could use a vacation! And I'm also sure many of our viewers out there cannot wait to help.

That's certainly what I hope. Anyone interested in joining the adopter family can come down to the Silph Co. Headquarters where our team of specialists will be eager to help you find your perfect new friend. That's what I did.

[Erika slides an arm around Nova's neck, hugging the Null close. Depending on your views, it's either heart-stoppingly adorable or nauseatingly over the top. The interviewer turns back to the camera with a gleaming smile that might also be a little over the top-- they have had to report on all the drama surrounding Silph too after all. But the adoption program is just as news-worthy as the research theft and legal squabbling.]

Well, viewers, you heard it. If you'd like a companion as sweet as dear Nova here, head to Silph Co. Headquarters as soon as you can. Coming up next, we catch up with our Pokemon specialist Neill to answer that age-old question: "Is a Zebstrika black with white stripes, or white with black stripes?"

[Another happy jingle as the program goes on its merry way.]
