Open Log [action/network]
Who: Jiro + open
Where: New Bark Town, Route 29, Network
When: Latter half of March
Summary: Wandering around, possible battling, and network things.
Rating: Idk PG-13 for profanity?
Log:
i. new bark town / route 29
[New Bark Town is creeping him out. It's like some approximation of suburbia, but something is off. It's not just the music; it's the... overly friendly people and the claustrophobic suburban nightmare quality to it. Jiro's getting the fuck out of here as soon as possible. He opts for the road instead of the ferry because he doesn't know the equivalent worth of the currency here and maybe he'll need all that he has for something else. His journey begins on route 29, at a determined pace. He has yet to put his pokemon in its pokeball; it's like a tiny little cage and he doesn't like it. So, the pyukumuku Jiro has affectionately named Dick rides on his shoulder, slowly dripping slime into the fabric of his shirt.
There are few breaks for rest, but when he does stop, he refers to the Trainer Handbook to familiarize himself with some of this place's weird shit. The PokeGear is frustrating, as Jiro's not a phone or video game guy, and there is far too much information in this tiny plastic thing covered in buttons. He'll figure it out, or maybe just throw it on the ground.]
ii. challenges
[One thing he does understand from the handbook is that battling exists. After only ten minutes on the road, he's ready to hit things out of both irritation and boredom. The moment he sees anyone with a backpack or using one of the PokeGear things, he's shouting at them.]
Hey! I'm gonna kick your fucking ass! Let's go!
iii. pokegear connect [text]
[Once he finally gets this thing to function, at least somewhat, it's the text option. The keyboard is tiny and his thumbs accidentally hit more than one key frequently.]
oklay who am iu sending thids to? what is the poiint of this shi6t?
iv. wildcard
Anything goes!

Text;
This is a private network for everybody who came here from a different world. The same as you did.
I guess they wanted to give us a place where we can talk among ourselves. Maybe help each other out too.

[Yeah, that's all he's sending. Armin answered his questions well enough. There's other people stuck here and if it's a private network for them, no one of authority or importance is able to be contacted through it.]
no subject
If you have any other questions, I could try answering them...

i dobnt. theres a fuckijng manual!
[Or handbook. Whatever. Then he realizes he does have one more question, and sends a second text directly after that.]
there a torii anywghere?
no subject
I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't know what a Torii is. Unless you meant to spell something else.
Could you describe it to me?
no subject
i spelled it right
[He makes a little bit of an effort to type slower and actually look at the words after.]
its a gate like at shrines.
[Which this world is unlikely to have, perhaps. They're so ubiquitous, he doesn't know how to describe them to someone who hasn't seen them before.]
two poles and a curved piece at the top? really big.

I guess there is a small chance there is something like that in Violet City too, near to the Sprout Tower. There is a group of monks there, after all.
Is there any particular reason you are looking for a torii? If I can ask.
no subject
theyre portals sometimes. thats how i got here.
[That's how he thinks he got here anyway. He can't remember actually going through the torii, but it was right there in front of him. Belatedly, he sends a second message.]
thanks.

[The PokeGear gets thrown aside. He'll eventually pick it up again and take it with him, but there will be no further replies.]

You can disregard this if you want, but my name is Armin Arlert. If you have any further questions, you can always contact me. I know things are probably pretty overwhelming to you right now, but it is not such a bad world once you get used to it.

I HAVE THE HANDBOOK
[He's found capslock, and it conveys a more accurate reply.]
no subject
The handbook explains the basics of pokemon, but I'm afraid it doesn't really have any information about this world. Or our presence here.
no subject
[He can adapt. It will be fine.]

That's when a complete stranger decides to shout at him.]
You can try.
[OH, wait, he probably means with Pokémon.]
...How the hell does one start a Pokémon battle?
no subject
Fuck if I know!
[Then he's just kind of staring at the phantump. It's somehow even weirder than the slug-rabbit.]
What is that?
no subject
[So rude!]
His name is Trunk, fuck you very much.
