[Somehow he isn't surprised she doesn't know what that means, but he doesn't comment on that. But his assumption was right, which means despite her apparent...lack of knowledge, she's fairly old. Interesting.]

[But he's not a gem, he's Garlean... even though Spinel isn't sure what that means. Her brief moment of enthusiasm is rewarded with her stomach turning painfully. She groans a little.]

You and yours are that varied are they? How interesting. Is this form you bear now much like the one you had ere your arrival—rather, is the appearance somewhat equivalent?

[He's not sure if she might just be the stone itself, or if she had some measure of human-like body. He's actually pretty fascinated by this, and unfortunately his curiosity often times wins out over his empathy. Thus when she suffers that pain in her belly, he does not comment. Rather, he acts as if it did not happen at all.]
