Jolyne Cujoh | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure | OTA
[Anyone that has been around Jolyne for longer than five minutes is probably already well aware of the name of one of her Pokemon, but for once, there's a meaning behind the name. Primarily that she's chilling out on a beach (or wherever really, she's just kind of rolling with the punches) with her tiny leavanny investigating the blue humanoid thing that had been standing behind Jolyne for a little bit. Stone Free (the Stand, not the leavanny) is kneeling down to investigate the tiny bug pokemon, head tilted to the side. Expression neutral and eyes specifically hidden by a pair of dark shades. Perhaps it's better to not question that.
Jolyne's huffing softly to herself before flopping onto her back to watch the commotion off to her side.]
Gonna get real awkward calling ya both Stone Free, huh? At least I don't gotta use your name... [She means the Stand, who is looking back over at her before sitting down properly, the leavanny finding a good lap to sit in and look quite pleased with herself.]
... That's just fuckin' adorable, though.
Showing off
[What does one do when they have their weird psychic fighting punchy spirit thing back? Of course the answer is show the fuck off. Which for anyone watching they may just come upon Stone Free just kind of... sparring with a particular primeape who seems to be having the time of her life. Jolyne's just kind of watching in the background, though given her attention seems to be on the fight, it might be easy enough for someone to figure out that she's in control of the entire situation.
Which might come to bite her in the ass as Laila is getting around the Stand for a brief second to try to punch Jolyne, only to be met with her fist going through her arm, the forearm seeming to be gone other than a few strands of string between her wrist and elbow still visible.]
Nice try, though! [Jolyne, Jolyne no.]
showing off
That is some unique magic there, what is that summon? I have never seen a summon such as this.
no subject
That's enough, Laila. [Said primeape doesn't seem too pleased by the whole thing, but is moving off to go harass another one of her fighting types instead. Enough time for her to actually answer.]
... A summon? Nah, she's my Stand. [THAT EXPLAINS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, JOLYNE.]
no subject
Stand? Is that similar to summoning magic then?
Stone Free
Unsure of what to say, or if he should call to her, he decides to walk towards her as calm as he can (and failing somewhat as his hands tremble). He sees her interacting with these other... animals? and she seems quite acquainted... Jotaro realizes she must have come some time before him.]
Jolyne?
no subject
'Sup? [Not much really bothers them at this point, she knows that all too well. It's gotta be something somewhat important and she's merely rolling onto her side and...
Oh, fuck.
Second time she's named a Pokemon after someone and they've shown up on her.]
... Dad? [Weird, saying that. Having expected to never encounter him in this place and making due with having to figure everything out on her own; again. She's almost frozen to her spot, keeping eye contact where she can before her body's moving of its own accord from the ground, to sitting, and standing once more.
The tiny bug Pokemon has already lost her lap and is immediately moving to Jolyne's side and grabbing a bit of her clothing in one leafy hand. Or, more accurately, a bit of string attached to her clothing and to the leafy "hand".]
How...? [So much for having words.]
no subject
[Jotaro gets a look of contemplation like his brain is about to explode trying to figure out what's going on. After a few seconds, he gives up all reasoning.
Instead, he steps forward and gives Jolyne a hug. There are no words to say. Nothing than to just be a good fucking dad for once in his life.]
no subject
Deep breaths, keep calm, this is fine.
It's absolutely fine to shift and grab the back of his jacket to do something akin to clinging. Of course it is.
Both Stone Frees look a little... confused, concerned about the situation, maybe. But neither are really moving other than the bug one quietly yoinking a pokeball from Jolyne's belt and stepping back a bit to hold it in leaf-blade hands.]
It... it's better here, you know. [Or maybe not every word is completely drowned out.]
no subject
After a few more moments of hugging and silence, he steps back and sits down. He still needs to process everything.]
So, what... is that...? [Jotaro gestures to the green bug-leaf thingy with a red ball in its hands.]
no subject
Oh. So this place basically has some... wild animals, of all kinds of types, called Pokemon. Native creatures, but a lot of people catch them or start with one, some people breed 'em, study 'em, or train them for battle. Since, uh, no one can actually kill or attack someone with a weapon. You fight with those creatures instead. [She is eyeing the ball the leavanny has, who's making a weird little chirping bug noise before plodding over to plop into Jolyne's lap and hold the ball up to her.]
This is the one I... woke up with, though she was in a different form. [She's taking the ball with a raised brow and just pushing a button to see which one it is.
Luckily it's not the talonflame but instead a rather... pink and white canine looking thing with what seems to be ribbons. That is happily plopping down at her other side and wrapping a ribbon feeler around her wrist.]
That's another one, his name's Demon.
no subject
Demon? His name is Demon?
no subject
Yeeeah. He, uh. Well, his kind apparently really like to try and attack dragon pokemon more or less for fun? Also he's a dick. [He really, really is. An actual. Dick.]
He looks innocent and cute, but he's one of my strongest. [Maybe just don't ask about why he's like this. And earned his nickname after evolving.]
no subject
Why do you look distressed?
[Jotaro almost wants to ask if she's well physically, but given that he was never very fatherly, he doesn't know if now is the time to start. He's probably the reason why she's so distressed, not expecting nor wanting to see him after... everything.]
no subject
Mostly worried about what he might do, he's already decided to try and shove Carly away from me any time he gets a chance. [Good thing she doesn't explain anything ever and can't read his mind. It's... awkward, to have this chance. Not bad, but awkward. How do you even go about saying that you've been here for months, traveled almost all of this entire place, beat down a bunch of elite trainers, and also have a girlfriend you're planning on settling down somewhere with in... about a month? It's a lot.
It's a lot a lot.]

stone free
she didn't think about how quietly she was approaching the other, instead just slipping down to sit next to jolyne as she looked at stone free2 ]
I'm jealous though, I want to be the one in Stone Free's lap.
Oh nooooo
Sorry, Foo, she's jolting out of her thoughts and bolting to sit upright. Eyes wide and heart pounding in her chest.
What the fuck is going on anymore?]
Wait, waitwaitwait. When the hell did you get here?
no subject
[ with that she pulls up the pokeball and lets a magikarp out to splash into the water excitedly ]
And then just started walking. I came this way because I could smell the water, but I got something much better!
[ foo beamed so proudly before pointing at magikarp ]
Hey you, splash me!
no subject
So you just woke up here. Did you... wake up in a house or just kind of in the middle of nowhere? [There's a lot going on right now, but the entry method would still be the same for everyone even now, right? Right. She's shifting a little as she eyes the water, the top part of an anchor covered in what seems to be algae poking just barely out of the water near the magikarp.
Eh, that should be fine.]
Came at a fine time, at least. Usually this place negates any Stand shit, or, well, anything that's decidedly not human or normal. ... Dunno how that'd effect you, come to think of it. [Would she just have a human body? Or just be plankton...? Weird.]
no subject
In a house...? Some woman claimed to be my mom, shoved a bag in my hands and sent me away.
[ as the other explained things she looked down at her own hand and flexed her fingers. she wasn't sure about that, or anything really if she had to be honest. there was the look out to the ocean ]
What is this place?
no subject
Sounds 'bout right. Most people that's how they end up around here, there's... a subset that don't, but that's not really important. [Most of the Rockets seem to either not give a shit about being this evil character or they're just real good at hiding. She'd be an utter liar if she said she remotely cared about what they did. Doesn't bother her none, so why worry?]
Uhhh, well, I'm not entirely sure which one of the... continents, I guess, we're on? Could either be Kanto or Johto for all I know, or some part of the Sevii Islands I'm not familiar with. [That's where she had been before the whole weekend exploded, after all.] But this place is pretty chill, no violence or whatever unless it's in the form of a Pokemon battle, that's the name of these weird-ass creatures in general. But they don't really do any lasting damage that can't be healed pretty quickly.
[She's motioning to the leavanny for a moment who's decided to leave actual Stone Free's lap to wander over to Foo and sit in front of her with her head tilted. Don't question it.]
The whole point is what you make of it. Some people are trainers, who... train their creatures, fight gyms, that kinda thing to become champion of the regions or whatever. Breeders who... do what it says on the tin. But really you can do whatever the hell you want if you find a niche for it. [Says the woman who destroyed all the gyms and took on the Elite Four, it's whatever.]
If nothing else, this place has let me meet extended family I never would have seen otherwise, so it's kinda cool? [As well as be living and breathing again. And see people who are living and breathing again.
Like Foo here, but that's beside the point.]no subject
but wait, she's having a galaxy brain moment and it shows. slowly leaning back more she's looking up to the sky. there was something very important here, something amazing and important ]
... It's a whole Jolyne colony... I can't wait to study them...
no subject
What the hell does that even mean, Foo?
She's blinking slowly and just sort of staring at her with a bit of side-eye, not... quite sure what just happened here. Or what she's talking about.]
What. [That's about as much as she's going to get of an answer here.]
no subject
You.
[ look, she looks so proud of herself, behold as she beams with so much knowledge on this ]
no subject
Just hide your face in your hands for a moment to hide the red cheeks until she can regain herself. Yep.
That's the answer, clearly.]
Ohhhh my god. I guess, kind of? Like, one's my great-great-great grandfather and grandmother. The other's, uh, related in some distant weird-ass way that I can't really explain? I dunno, man.
