We were to tell a story. The battle between good and evil! A hero prevailing against the darkness!

Ours, apparently, was quite well-received.

Acting! My dear Yamask assisted brilliantly! I could not have achieved my status without it.

[Yeah he got second place, but he's still thrilled about it.]

Speaking of stuff I missed. There seem to be a lot of people walking around looking for stolen things. Is that new?

[He waves a hand - it's not something he wants to talk about.]

It is, indeed. Items have been turning up missing for some time.

[Alex is totally find with leaving it at that. She's pretty sure she's not staying so yeah, this is officially a vacation.]

Are you trying to track down the thieves?

Indeed. With my rightful form returned, it should be a simple enough matter.

Everything! Small things, important things, clothing, snacks... everything.

No. If it were, this would be a simple matter.

However, I know of someone who lost an old chipped mug. And nothing else.

Maybe it's how much they can steal not how valuable it is.

But what purpose would that serve?

Well, if it's a group it might be some sort of contest. You know, who can steal the most stuff in a short amount of time.

That was an angle I had not considered yet. But who would be participating in such a contest?

Really bored thieves? Maybe a group of wild pokemon that decided to band together for a while?

[She remembers her ghost pokemon, they were trouble.]

Hm. Pokemon... that had not crossed my mind either.

I confess, I am still unused to considering them any sort of suspect.

Yeah, usually when animal steal things it makes sense because oh hey you left food out. Or something shiny or like good for making nests.

They don't do things like pull pranks on humans because it's fun. Or try to sneak up behind them and scare them.

[There is suddenly a Spiritomb next to her. They were not hiding in shadows at all.]

I guess it's a pokemon thing. Hey guys. You haven't been stealing anyone's stuff while I've been gone have you?

[The answer seems to be no. If you can get that from a bunch of spirits trapped in a rock. Alex seems to.]

Well at least it's not them.

[The ghost pokemon appearing like that actually... gets Shadowmaru to growl. Threateningly. Like a real dog. Don't mention it to him, please.]

[Though he sits his doggy butt down and looks mildly embarrassed once it's clear this is Alex's friend. So to speak.]

How long has your friend been eavesdropping?

[She just bops the mass of spirits on the top of the swirl of them. Her hand just goes through and she'll pretend that wasn't a dumb idea.]

I think since I walked in here. But it's probably less eavesdropping and more planning on how to jump out and scare me.

[It was 100% to scare both of them. She'll just leave that part out. She kind of missed having ghosts that at most liked to pull pranks.]

That's incredibly rude of it to do so. Do ghost pokemon know no manners?
