"I am, actually. I'm hoping I do a good enough job, but I guess so far everybody has kept coming back each week, so that's something."

Armin is only a newbie DM, so he is still feeling out just how terrifying to be with the party. Give him some time though.

"That's usually a good sign," Thorne says agreeably. "It's too bad I'm not likely to stick around here. I'd like to play with you guys. I usually do casters when I'm not GMing, but I'm good to fill any slot a party needs.

"But I'm glad," she adds softly. "That he's got you as a friend. I'm glad he's got all these friends here. And that he's-- he's happy here. Because that's what's important. That he's happy. He's not always-- good at being happy, you know? Sometimes he doesn't think he deserves it. But he does, I think. Everyone does, really."

"If you do end up sticking around, you are welcome to come join us."

They can always use a caster. Though she'd have to adjust what is probably the weirdest adventuring party, being that Krieg is a member of it.

At the rest of what she says though, he turns more serious. "He likes to call himself a bad person, but really, he'd been nothing but a good friend to me. Even when we have our disagreements--" primarily about who he is dating "--he hasn't stopped being a good friend to me."

Thorne's quiet for a long moment. "The thing about my brother," she says finally, "is that... well. Sometimes he wants to do bad shit. And just because you want to do bad shit doesn't mean you'll actually do it--but wanting to does matter to him. I thought he was a good person when I was a kid. When I was older, too, before he got taken and replaced. I... dunno if I'd call the Steven who chased after me a good person. I love him a lot and he's my brother and he's a good brother and a good friend, but."

But then she shakes her head. "But the thing is, Armin, even bad people should be allowed to be happy as long as their happiness isn't hurting other people. And bad people can be good friends to people. Is Steven a bad person... I don't really know with yours. I hope he's not yet... but even if he is, you can still be friends, you know. Because if you're important enough for him to be a good friend to, then he will be that good friend to you, no matter what. Or, you know, try like hell to be."
