Jesus. But it's... bigger now, right? Than just you three? He made it sound like it was more than that. Though, hm, you could get a lot done with just three people, if they're the right people.

[She shrugs.] Gonna be honest though- between you and me, I don't think anyone's getting higher up than Jack is without some serious usurping power. There's only one rank between that and the Boss- I'd be pretty surprised if they trusted people who can't even travel outside the main country with that.

Right. [He shakes his head.] I'd say I thought I'd be smarter than to date my supervisor—because I assume I didn't climb the organization ladder that fast—but honestly, I'm very stupid when actually in love. Which is one of the reasons I've avoided it. The whole thing must have really snuck up on my younger self.

If it means anything, he's technically not our supervisor at all. He likes to claim the role sure, being highest ranking among us, but on paper? He has nothing to do with us! The higher ranks have their own employees that they need to maintain, but...well, I'm going to be honest it was entirely a fluke that he wound up training me for the first week and a bit. And even then, after that? I reported to a completely different guy.

Oh! Well then. That's different. Honestly, I'm relieved. It's usually a bad idea to date someone in your chain of command. Leaves you open to accusations of nepotism. I'm glad my younger self doesn't have to worry about that.

Hooo that's for sure. Not to mention other awkward back and forth stuff... [They can probably both fill in those blanks though.]

And you know...maybe there's someone back where you are too. Even if it takes a bit of time.

I... really don't know about that. I mean, there's Gil right now and he's my dearest friend and I love him, but I'm not in love with him. That's just not how we are. And if he ever found someone he truly loved, I'd let him go.

But-- maybe. It would be nice if I found someone again. Someone I could trust with all of me, even the objectively awful parts.
