[it had been a little while since keith last got in touch with shiro. well-- okay that's incorrect seeing as he spoke to the other the other day, but there's a difference between talking to a person through video and actually talking to a person face to face. he got lost and ended up going through an area that he shouldn't have gone through and... well that was embarrassing, and he doesn't want to talk or think about it now since he's this close to catching up to shiro's location.

thankfully his gastly is a pretty friendly.... pokémon? it's physics is a bit weird, but eh. he's seen weirder. anyways-- that's not the point. what is the point is that gastly is starting to float up and down in a very excited manner. and that could mean two things. either they're close to the rendezvous point or shiro's nearby.

he looks around curiously as the gastly wisps about.]

Shiro? You here?

[hey, gastly can't speak. so it... makes sense that he'd call out to the other. ok]

[Gastly is just delighted to have someone new to talk to. Even if this person doesn't understand it -- that's okay. It knows this is the person they've been waiting for. Don't ask how, ghosts just know these things.]

[It bobs a few more times before zipping into a small clearing. And there, seated against the base of a tree, and idly throwing a stick for his Aron, is the aforementioned Leader.]

[He looks up immediately as the Gastly sails into view, and Keith calls out. Then he's on his feet and striding over -- it really does look like the kid is okay. Like he has all his pieces and isn't mortally wounded. Which is a lot better than his brain anticipated, after their... conversation.]

Right here! You made it.

[gonerouge]

[he has all ten fingers and toes!!! red did take most of the damage, and he's a tad... well more than a tad guilty and upset over that, but red isn't here so he can't really make it up to the metal space cat. anyway-- that's not important. what is is finding shiro! and-- look, there he is!!!! he perks up a bit and picks up his speed.]

Yeah, I'm sorry, I got pretty turned around the moment I entered the forest, but I'm here now. Hopefully you didn't have to wait too long.

[Oh thank god he's not missing pieces.]

It's all right. We got some decent training in.

["we" meaning him and the two creatures here with him. The Gastly who appears to be circling them thoughtfully, and the Aron currently sniffing at Keith's feet. For his part, Shiro just reaches out to put a hand on the younger boy's shoulder.]

It's good to see you. I'm sorry I... I'm sorry for how I reacted, earlier.

[gonerouge]

[he looks curiously at the aron before directing his attention back over to shiro. he fidgets nervously under his gaze.] It's fine, I could have... probably delivered all of that better, so I'm sorry for that.

[shiro2hero]

It's fine. It's done with. I'm just glad you're not hurt.

[Not hurt in a battle he doesn't remember fighting. That's... the more concerning part right now. But it's a conversation for later, and he nods over to the tree he'd been parked under.]

Tell me what you've heard about this place so far.

[gonerouge]

I'm fine Shiro, trust me. [he wouldn't lie about that, you've got nothing to fear dad. he lets out a soft hum as he looks up trying to recall everything he's discovered about this place.] Well, for starters I've been told time stops at home while you're here? And that the people who are here are from different dimensions?

[shiro2hero]

I do.

[Without hesitation or thought. It's true. He trusts everyone on their team completely.]

Okay. That's about what everyone's told me, too. Which... makes me wonder why you remember something I don't.

[gonerouge]

[hearing that causes keith to smile happily. daaaaad. anyway-- he looks curiously in thought.]

Maybe the people who are here are all pulled from different times than their friends are? It doesn't seem that theres any thought put into where we come from, from the sounds of it?

[shiro2hero]

I think I heard something like that. Didn't think very much of it at the time.

[Since, you know, he'd been the only one here and all.]

I can see how it's hard to not put much thought of it when you hear about it. I guess it comes into perspective when you have more people from home in this place and nothing matches up timeline wise.

[shiro2hero]

I guess.

I didn't think ... timeline issues was even something we needed to be concerned about.

[gonerouge]

Yeah. I didn't think these strange creatures was something we'd be dealing with either. But-- [he shrugs.] At least time stops while we're here?

[shiro2hero]

Except it didn't. Not really.

You kept going, time-wise.

[gonerouge]

You don't... think that time is actually going on, do you?

[shiro2hero]

I... really hope not. But now I don't know what to think for sure.

[gonerouge]

I guess the only way we can tell is if someone from home shows up with memories I don't remember.

[shiro2hero]

Looks that way.

I guess we can't worry about it now.

[gonerouge]

[he sighs as he gives a small nod.] Looks like it, yeah. There's no used to worrying over something we don't know is even true yet anyways.

[shiro2hero]

Good advice.

[There's a friendly shoulder thump for the younger man.] I'll keep it in mind. Thank you.

[gonerouge]

[!!! he feels a smile spread across his face as he feels shiro bump his shoulder against his own.] Of course. I have to make up all the times you helped me out, yeah?

[shiro2hero]

[Son your inner fanboy is showing.]

You don't have to make up for anything. We were already even.

[gonerouge]

[but dad, you're so cool!!! and dad like!!!! anyways-- he smiles at the other]

For what its worth though, I am thankful for everything you've been able to do and help me through.

[shiro2hero]

And I appreciate it.

Still... don't think you have to make anything up to me.

[gonerouge]

Yeah, but I want to? It's nice being able to do stuff for you for once.

[shiro2hero]

Well, maybe I'll remember that when we hit a town.

[gonerouge]

[he nods.] Yeah, you better!

[shiro2hero]

If not then I'm holding you accountable.
