That's my second Elite Challenge, completed!

[Jane looks so proud to announce it this morning, fresh on Route 2 and...holding up an Earth Badge holy shit]

It's kind of wild that the annoying rival boy from the games ended up a gym leader, and hoo boy, Mister Blue is a tough cookie, but apparently so are we! [She chuckles, pocketing her new badge carefully.]

Anyway! Hope everyone got back safely from Sinnoh - seems like the trip was quite exciting. I'll make the next one, that's a promise! Hoo, I won't have an impending badge quest hanging over my head to keep me away! Oh, but more importantly...

[She shifts the 'gear in her hands and points it down to her feet. There's. There's a Rockruff there, yawning and pawing at one of her ears.]

So I caught Cocoa here back when I was coming down from Blackthorn, and I thought it might be nice to travel with her a bit? But, um, I've never had a dog before? Never ever. And...oh gosh, guys, she is so incredibly cute. She snuggled up with me in bed last night and I don't think I've ever seen a sweeter thing than a sleeping pup!

[It's not unusual for Jane to share sleeping quarters with her Pokemon - hell, Dinah regularly invades her bed - but something about a dog is just. Really nice?]

Anyway, wish us luck in Viridian Forest!

The trip was really fun and nothing bad even happened!

[Newt might have low standards but then again this worlds parties seem cursed as well so...]

Oh, that's a relief! Knowing our luck, we'd end up with an international incident on our hands...but maybe this could pave the way for more trips in the future! I know I'd love to see what else is out there.

I hope so. Seeing new places is fun. Even if it's only for a little bit.

Yeah. One of the gym leaders even let us try battling their gym. They couldn't give us a real badge but we got some prizes if we won.

And the other local people there were nice too. One of the librarians helped me find some books I hadn't read yet.

Oh, that's great! Shame about the badge, though. It seems a little silly not to get one - couldn't it just not count towards your...badge count?

I don't really know why. Maybe they didn't want to give us one if we couldn't try to get the others in the region?

It was a fun gym though. It was plant types so I got to use a lot of Fire types.

Oh those are fun. I went to Erika's gym a while back - it was a very satisfying fight. She makes sure you earn your badge, even if you do pop in with a bunch of Fire types.

Yup. I went after the Elite team for these guys and it was a fun hard.

I hope we get to visit other places sometime. I like this place a lot but it was cool to see another city.

There are an awful lot more places mentioned in books or on television that we just don't get to see, aren't there? Perhaps one day they'll let us come and visit, too.

I hope so. Flying in the plane there was fun too. I thought maybe we'd use pokemon but I guess they use planes sometimes here too.

It's probably too long and too rough a journey to be taken on Pokemon alone. They need to rest too.
