--didn't know they put this in--um, hi! I'm Chip, I just got my first Palien a week ago! His name's Lazzo and he's a...um...

[They reach for their Pokedex and fiddle with it some until the tinny voice comes on with 'Salandit, the toxic lizard Pokemon'.]

Right, a Salandit! Um, does anyone know why they're using weird names for stuff? And Patty's just got one type, it's really weird...

But! Right I was gonna ask, where can I find a Espcheep? I really really wanna get one for real! I tried looking in the 'Pedia, but there's nothing in there and they've gotta be around!

[A little electro mouse, okay, Armin could've worked with that. God knows there are a lot of electric mouse-like pokemon for some reason. But green? And with four arms?]

I know what Espcheep looks like, it's everywhere! I even have a shirt with it on!

[And the Gear is tossed aside while they...presumably go rummaging in their dirty laundry??? Okay.]

[Chip quickly rights the camera screen back up before proudly displaying a slightly rumpled t-shirt. And indeed that critter is very round and green and has four little stubby forearms. ...the screenprinting quality is not the best, however.]

I don't think a pokemon like that exists. Maybe it does where you are from, but it doesn't here.

[Chip, sadly, has zero patience and a whole lot of Upset, dropping the shirt and stomping their feet.]

It's not a Pokemon, it's a Palien! Why's everyone keep calling 'em that?!

[Oh no, he upset the child. Armin might have learned a thing or two about dealing with little kids from Newt, but dealing with a kid throwing a tantrum? Not really in his skillset.]

Okay, okay. The animal on your shirt is a palien. But the animals here in this world are called pokemon. They are probably two completely different things even if they share some simalarities.

But it's gotta be the same thing, it all--it all matches!! [Their face screws up and--oh jeez, yeah, they're definitely trying not to cry here, oh boy.] I know Paliens, I watch it all the time and I even got the new game before I got here, and--!!

Y-you are in a completely different universe. You'll find a lot of little differences.

This is one of my favourite books I got to know here. I don't know if you know it, but it's called '20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Vernipede. It's okay if you don't know it. The reason I brought it up is because friends of mine told me that this book exists in their world too, except there is was written by a man called Jules Verne. Apart from some of the animals described in the book, it's otherwise completely the same book. Just a few small differences.

That's... that's just how different worlds work, I think.
