Casual is not how Jim would describe the half splayed collapse against his weird new dragon grandpa, but sure, let's go with that.

"More like, uh. A plus twenty amulet of protection," he corrects; his slight grin shows off huge lower fangs, that don't go away when his smile does as he holds his hand out for the amulet - but he starts smoking and yanks it back with a wince. "But it'd take a lot more than that to break it. Trust me."

Casual might be pushing it just a bit.

"Oh. That's even better." She's working up the nerve to ask where he found it - and the armor she knows she'd spotted a couple seconds ago - when he moves to take it and his hand promptly starts smoking. She might not know much about people, but she knows enough to know that that's not normal.

Not that... any of this is normal.

"That the only one you have?"

"Yep, sure is. One of a kind, too, so..." He holds his hand out again, keeping it inside the shadows as the Drampa lifts its head to stare curiously at Futaba. "I'd really appreciate it back. And then maybe you can tell me why you're not freaking out about all this?"

"Oh right. Sorry!" Hearing about the amulet's one-of-a-kind status only increases its appeal, but in the end, she shuffles closer and hands it over. He'd found it first, after all. There'd be other loot.

Once that's accomplished, she waves at the Drampa. As for the question of why she's not losing her might right now. Well, that's a bit complicated. Mostly because she's not sure how much she has to keep secret. She's been here for a while now and she has yet to run into anyone else from home.

But she has to tell him something, so...
