2nd Sacrament - Training

Who: Walter ( [personal profile] 11121_assumption ) and 'Jack' ( [personal profile] secondhandsome )
Where: Route 35
When: Afternoon/Evening, 13th September
Summary: Walter trains his Pokemon and meets with a friend someone he's met before.
Rating: PG, typical Pokemon training violence

Log:

Walter had taken to leaving the city to train his Pokemon. As autumn approached he wanted to be outside more, to feel the wind and rain on his skin as he had before he had died. That, and it wasn't safe to stay in Goldenrod. Henry had apparently made friends. Dangerous friends. He wouldn't put it past said friends to attack him on sight, as Henry had, and he didn't know what they looked like. Henry probably had described him to them so they could easily ambush him.

He currently had his Pokemon practicing techniques together, but after he would seek out wild creatures to have them battle.

[Tim takes every opportunity to get away that he can. Jack doesn't constantly pay attention to him, of course, so he gets plenty of time. But even a minute with him feels like an hour. So being unavailable for a while is still nice. Just... some nice time without that jackass bothering him.

His Pokemon like being out and about too, so leaving the city for a while isn't a bad idea. Never too far, just... right outside.

There's other people around here more often, sure, but no one he's paid much attention to. This time he actually recognizes who he sees, so he stops walking. His Ditto is on his shoulder as always, but there's a Meowth wandering next to him as well.]

Oh-- Hey. Didn't expect to see you out here. [He glances at the Pokemon out.] ...Oh, wait, are you training? Uh. I didn't mean to interrupt or anything...

"No, it's fine, that's not what I--" And then there's that small... blue... cat thing. Tim blinks at that, because he knows cats well enough to know what that behavior means. But considering this one's pretty small, it's... really hard to take it seriously.

Or just impossible, really. He can't help but smile at that. Just... look at that. That's freaking adorable. "Wow. You got a fierce one there, huh?"

"Ha, yeah, she looks like that type." Well, not... actually a Fighting type, but a fighting type. Tim's really trying not to laugh at that fierce display there. What the fuck, it's so cute...

"Guess in this place it's good to have a fighter anyway. 'Specially when she grows up. For now she's just kinda... well... adorable."

"Nah, can't say I have. But bigger and stronger's the pattern, right? At least, that's what it seems like for most of 'em." He glances down a little, at one of his pokeballs. "Not really sure what mine'll turn into... I don't think Dittos evolve at all."

Tim leans in to get a better look at the screen and... oh, wow, that is quite the transformation waiting in this little cat's future, huh? He immediately glances over at Chaos, trying to imagine her looking like that. "Wow, she's gonna end up looking pretty fearsome, huh?" ...Ah, wait. "Not that she isn't already."

Both a joke and an attempt to make sure he hasn't offended the kitty. Because that's important to him, shut up.

"That's much easier, though. I've been looking everything up manually. Way more of a hassle..."

Tim's Meowth, unfortunately, doesn't take kindly to that behavior and already starts hissing loudly. It's bad enough this cat is taking up his trainer's attention, now this? Nuh-uh.

Said trainer, well... he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a little amused by this. Just a little. "C'mon, buddy, don't do that." The Meowth just lets out an annoyed mrow, at that. "Right... That's probably gonna become something of an issue when she gets bigger. Well..." He crouches down slightly, so he can reach Chaos. Carefully, he starts to pet her. "Maybe she'll just grow out of it?"

...Maybe not. But he's weak to the cute kitty, okay, he's not really thinking about this.

It does occur to Tim that he probably shouldn't be petting the cat right now, but... He's weak. He can't help it.

And Tim might be nice and gentle, his Meowth is... less so. His eyes narrow at this strange new human and he quickly jumps back, letting out an irritated growl. Tim blinks at that reaction for a moment. "Hey, c'mon now, play nice." But nope, his Meowth doesn't really listen to that. His trainer sighs. "Sorry, that one's... kinda got an attitude problem."

Tim shakes his head and walks over to his Meowth, just picking the cat up. At least that means no fight.

"Alright buddy, come on, don't be like that. Geez..." He looks back up at Walter. "Sorry, this one uh... Well, maybe it's a little unfair to blame this on someone else, but I did get this one from someone else. Wouldn't surprise me if that's where he picked up this attitude."

Tim looks a little apologetic at Walter's response to his Meowth's behavior. That definitely didn't go as intended, but... that's how it is with the troublemakers. Thankfully his other Pokemon are much friendlier, so that helps make up for it.

"Sorta, yeah. Not exactly a trade, since I didn't give anything in return. But uh... he has a lot of Meowth, so one less doesn't make much of a difference..."

It's all part of the whole deal. Being an employee of Jack... Probably the most official one here, really. Tim doesn't go into detail about Jack, of course. Walter doesn't need to know about him.

"You... absolutely didn't hear this from me, but he's not the best trainer, so... Honestly, for the most part all those cats just kinda run around the place."
