Well, I cannot say I'm surprised to be the Winner of a contest, let alone one pertaining to beauty, but eVen I haVe to admit it's a little odd to Win one I had not entered.
Who knoWs, maybe this planet does contests differently, I'm hardly complaining.
Due recognition isn't out of line, nor discouraged, and noW I'Ve enough makeup, hair product, and so on to last me for quite sometime.
HoWeVer, While I haVe all of that in ample supply, I did notice that this World seems to be lacking a staple from my oWn, despite so many things being roughly equiValent.
Beyond your strange restangles, or WhateVer you call them—"beds", Was it? Another difference is the appalling lack of grubs or grub-based food items here.
Or, if they are here, they certainly are hidden aWay someWhere.
Would anyone knoW Where I could find anything of that sort? Or do humans not eat grubs of any kind?

You don't in the slightest find it a bit odd that you won a contest out of nowhere?

However, I've yet to see any sort of grub-type of food around here. It was not a common thing where I'm from but there were other places where it certainly was...

Perhaps there is a market for that sort of thing if there's such an option here.

I did open With saying it Was odd, but for someone like me in this World, a lot is. I can hardly say What is or isn't a common practice here.
So, your humans did eat grubs to some extent, but I suppose if this World is quite different from your oWn, they might not at all.
So, haVe you neVer eaten a grub before yourself?

There's so much wonderful food here, so I bet there's grubs and grub-food somewhere! I'm sorry you haven't found any yet; do you want help looking? Oh! Have you tried milk? Milk is so great and you can turn it into all sorts of tasty things too! C:

And I don't think I've had grubs? I mean, before I left the Fright Zone I hadn't had anything but rations my whole life and I don't think anybody knows what they're made of. And in Bright Moon I really didn't get a chance to try all their foods before things happened, and I don't know what's in them either, but much tastier than rations. Grubs sound tasty too, so if I we find them, I want to try some!

I Wouldn't call it luck so much as due course.
Though, I haVen't exactly had the opportunity, nor the desire to try milk, no. That's more of an indigo blood thing.

I didn't get to try it until I got here! It's great and so nutritious! Like rations but it tastes SO much better. Come to think of it, maybe there were grub-foods at the Prom. I never did find out what all the foods were. I was kind of sneaking bites of as many things as I could in between planting bombs. Eat the good food when you can right? ;)

And the Fright Zone is where I grew up, and were Lord Hordak made the home base of the Evil Horde. It was my family's home before Hordak came but I was too young to remember and my moms died when I was still really little too, so I have no idea what it was like before he came.

Wait, his organization Was named the EVil Horde? Did he haVe an irrational fear of being subtle?
Also What do you mean "moms"? I knoW humans haVe some Weird gender-based reproductiVe limitations, but last I heard, it required a male and a female?
I guess it's possible you aren't human, but it's admittedly difficult to knoW Who is or isn't.

Um... You know, I don't know. It's kind of a naming thing on Etheria? Like, I'm a scorpion and my moms named me Scorpia! Perfuma is Princess of Plumeria and makes flowers grow just by being near them! Catra is a cat, Bow is an archer, Glimmer makes sparkles that blind you and stuff, Frosta is from the Snow Kingdom and does really cool things with ice! And lots of things like that.

Man, I wish I just even had my tail back. Anyway, Etheria is magic! So when you find someone you love and want to have a baby, you don't have to worry about details like that! I'm not really sure how it works, but there's plenty of people who've got two moms or two dads! Probably as many as have a dad and a mom! Or any of the other combinations.

Magic. Are you sure that's What it is, or is that What you're calling it because you don't understand it?
If What you said is true about the tail and eVerything, Well... It's reasonable to assume you're likely not a human, since none of them haVe tails here.
So maybe that's Why your breeding requirements are more like trolls in the sense gender doesn't matter for it.
Doubt you haVe a mother grub, though.
Speaking of, I'm not far from the Goldenrod conVenience store, if you Want to meet up to try and find some grubs.

I mean, yeah, I'm a scorpion but I think it might work more like colors do for trolls? Err, in the sense that you're trolls whether Jade or Teal or other colors. People are just people on Etheria. Just some of us have tails or scales or gills or moth wings! And some people don't look any different than humans do here! But we're all people!

And sure! Give me a couple minutes; I'm down in the dorms!

Could have been faster, but I guess the snow can be a bit of bitch. It isn't at the department store--already went through it earlier before I posted. I'm guessing it might be at some specialty store, maybe something tucked away, if the reactions I've gotten by the humans are any indication.

[Scorpia is busy getting to the meeting spot so she doesn't respond to the text. Explaining people is always kind of tricky, and she'd like to ask Entrapta first if people from other planets count as people for Etheria's magics. Probably? But Entrapta probably has researched it!

Lanque's voice shakes her out of her thoughts, and Scorpia shrugs a little.]

Yeah, but it's really pretty too. Like your coat! And your Pokemon cuddled up in there! Hi little buddy!

[The talk about stores gets her thinking, and she points enthusiastically while pointing.] Yeah, probably. I know there's a bunch of bars and those kinds of things over that way! And a whole street of small shops over that way. Definitely haven't had time to explore them all though.

[Said Pokémon offers an unpleasant hiss, but it's not exactly threatening. More a complaint than anything. About what? Who knows. Lanque shrugs.]

Pretty and being a bitch kind of go claw in claw, so...

I can't imagine they'd be in a bar, so lets go to the shops. Come.

[That last word is said like he's speaking to a barkbeast of some sort as he starts towards the direction of the shops, walking with quick purpose made easier with those long legs of his.]

[Scorpia just 'awwwwwwws' at the hiss. What a cutie! Then she looks utterly befuddled at Lanque's comment. That's not--

Sure! I haven't had a lot of time to shop; I can't wait to see what all of them sell!

[It's a good thing Scorpia's legs are also pretty long, but really, soldier experience has a lot to say for her walking speed and stamina too.]

I hope you don't mind me clarifying but -- When you say grubs, are you referring to insects?

What else Would I possibly be talking about?

I wouldn't know. But with how many different worlds there are out there, isn't it good to make sure we are talking about the same concepts first? Just to make sure there are no mix-ups? In any case, if you are asking for insect-based food, I don't think they sell any here. At least not for human consumption. Culturally speaking, that is not really a commonly done thing in this world.

I guess you haVe a point.
But, Why is that? There's plenty of insects on this planet, just as there are beasts, but you only eat the beasts? Doesn't that seem a little odd to aVoid a resource arbitrarily like that?

Well, I'll admit I'd have to actually check this but my first impulse is to say that animal meat is a lot higher in protein than insect meat is. So you wouldn't need to eat as much of it to be satisfied. And one animal can feed several people at once. Plus, animals can also provide you with other resources like milk, eggs, and leather. And I imagine once a culture establishes itself around one particular food source, it would be pretty hard to switch away. I might be totally wrong, of course. This is the first time I had cause to think about something like this.

I guess my point is the fact the grubs here aren't exactly small?
After all, some of them are almost as big as the Wigglers running around, so it seems pretty damn strange to think they Wouldn't be a Viable food source.
Grubs are a staple on my planet, and they don't get nearly as big as some of the ones I'Ve seen here, excluding the mother grub, but We don't eat her.
If anything is translatable from my World to this one, by comparable Weight, grubs haVe more protein than beast meat, fyi.
