Bakers, start your baking!
Who: Everybody!
Where: Riegfried and Soy's mansion
When: January 15th; day time for the cooking part, evening for the mingle part.
Summary: Come one, come all to the newest contest hosted by Riegfried and Soy. Today's theme: cooking!

[Daytime - The kitchens]
Throughout the day, the kitchens will be open to all contestants, though any casual onlookers --human, pokemon, or otherwise-- will be shooed out to prevent any cheating.
Each contestant will be directed to a gleaming counter, where they will be able to find everything from your basic whisk and spatula to gleaming kitchen machinery fancy enough to make any cook feel faint with envy. Each counter comes complete with a small fridge (should you need to chill any of your ingredients), an oven, a stove, a microwave -- really, anything you can imagine and it is there. Riegfried and Soy clearly didn't want anyone to run into the issue of not having the right equipment for the job.
At the back of the room are the fridges: tall, imposing fridges made of gleaming metal stocked full of every sort of ingredient you could possibly think of. And next to the fridges, contestants can find rows and rows of shelves, each nearly bowing under the weight of the products placed on them -- from fresh fruit, to spices, to rice and noodles. If you need it, you can find it.
Riegfried and Soy will be flitting around the room like a pair of extravagant Butterfrees, happy to engage contestants in small interviews. Everything for the camera, baby! Because those are also there; they are clearly trying to stay out of everybody's way, but small, Rotom-powered cameras flit around the room for close-ups, while cameramen and women with heavy-duty equipment get the distance shots. Hopefully, you haven't got an issue with stage fright.
[Evening - The show]
And when all is said and done, and the last dishes have been cooked, it's time for the actual show. There is some time between the actual cooking and this part of the evening, during which contestants have a chance to change their clothing and freshen up, but before too long, the mansion's doors open to the guests, who are herded by the cheerful hosts to an enormous hall.
The hall itself is set up with all manner of comforts. There are some small tables and chairs for anyone who wants to sit down for a while. Long tables line the sides of the room, absolutely laden with all manner of refreshments. There is even a special table set aside where the dishes the contestants made (at least the ones that made it to this part of the evening) are displayed and ready for tasting.
The schedule for the night is rather straightforward.
After some meet-and-greet and time for every last guest to arrive, the day's events (cut and edited by a very exhausted camera crew) will be projected onto a huge screen for all to enjoy. The votes will be tallied afterward and awards and prizes will be handed out. The rest of the evening will give the winners a chance to celebrate, the losers a chance to commiserate, and everybody else to clear the buffet of everything edible.

[Careful of how much he gets, Dimitri gets a small plate of mango pudding for Hob.]
Although I do feel bad... I will not be able to give you proper feedback for your dish.
no subject
[He placed his hand up.]
I mean, between you and me? I have a good feeling I'm not gonna win.
[Yup. Right out there.]
no subject
[Dimitri shrugs, watching carefully to make sure Hob's rat hands can hold onto the pudding correctly.]
I hope this does not sound too uncouth, but I came because I understood there would be a lot of food.
no subject
No, man, it's honest...! You're being honest. Nothing wrong with being honest.
All the more reason to just take a step back and enjoy what you want. Yeah?
no subject
[He smiles back, before there's the sound of rat nibbling, and he smiles down at Hob.]
It looks like she appreciates that more than the curry. I suppose the spice may be too much for a Raticate; she's used to chewing on duller things.

[He rested a hand on his chin as he watched the resolution come before deciding that...oh, he was a mess.
His hands were completely coated with curry drippings, flour, and mango. With a vague smell of dishsoap. This game from hours and hours of cooking and cleaning, and realizing only NOW he was a huge mess. There was curry on his face now.]
Oh geez, I'm definitely not going to win for appearance. I'm a disaster.
[Nadia tilted her head at this. Zuke looked fine? Huh? Well, her job was keeping the peace, not keeping him clean.]

[With his own spoon finally going up to his mouth, Dimitri blinks over at Zuke before he realizes 1. what the question was and 2. how good balanced curry actually is. Oh, he still can't taste it, but the spice...]
Mmmm.... [He takes in a breath and sighs.] You should win for taste.
no subject
Heh...you think so? Really?
[...He doesn't know why he thought that was so otherworldly. Heh. He scratched his back a bit. Zuke was really bashful about it.]
I'm, ha, I'm glad. Glad to know at least I can deliver on food.
[HE WAS CHANGING COLOR.]
no subject
[Just enough to make something spark off in his mouth without becoming too painful... Yes, Dimitri likes it. It really is a unique sensation he's never had before coming here, and he smiles.]
You are a man of many talents, aren't you?
1/2
2/2
I-uh! I mean, I guess? I mean-!
Uh.
[He was full on RED now. Nadia tilted her head at him. Dad, your heart is beating a million miles a minute.]
no subject
With how good all of this is, you will no doubt have plenty more people coming to try your curry. I should leave you to all of that.
But I have made plenty of bread, if you would ever like it. [His idea of fried bread, sure, but...]

[He reigned in control. His voice high at first but lowering the moment he realized he was being embarrassing again. Zuke coughed in his hand, as if that was meant to mask his slip.]
...Of course, Dimitri, I'll totally take some. It's only fair we share. That's what this is all about. Kinda. At least it's what I think is about.
no subject
[Dimitri smiles a little bit around his spoon.]
