[ Shopping. That's where it's at. Since they're buckled down in Goldenrod during the winter months, both Bakugou and Kirishima have been able to save back. They're both working jobs and that means they can actually afford better meals and an actual place to stay. That's what they're out and about for at the moment. Honestly, Katsuki can take care of this by himself and would really prefer to. Why, you ask?

Because the redhead gets stupidly distracted. Here they are in the department store and the idiot has run off. Unsurprisingly, it's by the TMs. Okay, the blonde can understand the interest in them. It would be nice to be able to teach their Pokémon different kinds of moves. The problem is they're pretty expensive over all? Katsuki knows they can afford one or two, but it's probably hard for someone as overeager as Kirishima to be reasonable. ]

Oi. What happened to "let me help you pick out meat" huh?

[ The slight, red - yes, he's still dying those too - brows bounce up at that. ]

Wow...

[ But then his face splits into a grin. ]

So you really like 'em, huh?

[ He leans back, resting against his Dragonair's coils much like the blonde is doing with his Typhlosion. Machoke snorts at Bakugou, possibly directly down into the teen's face/hair, but then seems content with as much petting as he's given. He steps and half-climbs over the Dragonair as a bit of lowing comes from the living room. ]

Yeah, I guess you're both surprising me lately.

[ Katuski shoots a flat glare at Kirishima for the comment. What does he mean "you really like 'em?" They're just like any pet when you come down to it, right?

He doesn't even seem bothered by Machoke's snort. ]

Not sure I really care for this attitude.

[machismost]

[ Kirishima doesn't look perturbed nor repentant underneath that glare. The fingers of one hand scratch gently around the horn of the dragon pokemon, the very same one given to him as a gift.

He's tempted to ask what Bakugou thinks he's going to do about it, but there's a baby between them. ]

Well I gotta annoy you, right? Otherwise it'd be too weird.

[ Bakugou is quiet for a couple of moments. Freaking Kirishima being all smug. Or overly friendly anyway. That's just the way that he is. The ass. At least it's somewhat satisfying to see him pouring attention into that Dragonair. As he damn well should! ]

Oi Kirishma.

[ Definitely making a come closer motion. ]

[ His brow wrinkles at that. ]

Why?

[ He can hardly imagine a scenario where he doesn't lean over and get some sort of swat. Being in arm reach of Bakugou doesn't usually mean nice things for him. Still, what're the alternatives? Sit here and make whatever's coming for him worse or flee like some sort of coward?

Nah, he'll go meet it head on. He's never been afraid of Bakugou before and he's not going to start now. Eijiro scoots closer on his butt from where he's sitting, reaching for one of the Eevee's ears blindly while he keeps eye contact with the blonde. ]

[ Usually it doesn't mean anything good, no. That's when Bakugou had his quirk though! So it's entirely possible that something beneficial could come from being close to Katsuki.

Just not this time either. Because he does grab Kirishima's face. Moves him this way. Moves him that way. Squinting like he's analyzing. ]

Do I see some black?

[machismost]

[ Kirishima will believe it when he sees it. Still, grabbing his face is a little unexpected - he's more accustomed to the blonde clapping it into explosions. His eyes widen just a little at the 'question'. His throat bobs with a bit of a swallow, voice more squinched off. ]

No?

[ He's going to try to tug himself back. ]

[ Ha! Bakugou's grip is like a vice. Kirishima isn't going anywhere. ]

Oh it's definitely there. [ It's not. ] Maybe you weren't as thorough last time you went to dye it?

[ Just why is it that Bakugou derives such glee from being a bastard thinks the guy who was just enjoying being a bit of a shit a moment ago? When he's caught and it's clear he's not getting free without some real effort, Kirishima relocates his hand from the Eevee's ear to her back. The nervous smile that had begun to work itself over his features quiets a bit. There's warmth in his cheeks against the blonde's palm.

He could deny it... but that sort of bold-faced lying isn't really his style. It's one thing to style yourself a certain way and another thing entirely to pretend it's not intentional when you're called out directly. No one's flat out asked him if he dyes his hair before; it was hardly the most extreme physical trait to have in their world, so why would they? ]

So how long've you known?

[ What Katsuki doesn't understand here is why Kirishima is nervous about it. Or embarrassed? He's not really sure. All he can tell is that the other is turning a bit pink and it actually makes his own stomach twist up in knots. Bastard.

So he pushes the redhead back and leans more against Typh. All while looking away because there's no damn way he can look at Kirishima and say it. ]

You're my best friend, yeah? How the fuck wouldn't I have noticed by now? You'd have to be pretty damn blind or oblivious not to.

[machismost]

[ Kirishima's expressive face goes totally slack in surprise. ]

Oh.

[ Excuse him while he processes and kicks back online from that system shock. His Ampharos isn't here right now, so Eevee's catching the extra love his fidgeting hands coax through her fur. ]

Yeaaahh... [ He rubs the back of his neck with one hand. ] That does makes sense. You're one of the smartest guys I know.

[ And Kirishima knows he's maybe not the smartest guy, especially not in comparison to his friend, but he thought he'd taken some measures to keep dyeing a secret. He'd also thought maybe Bakugou just wouldn't have cared enough to notice his roots had grown out somewhat before they reached Goldenrod ( and got some luxury expense money for things like dye ). The fact that he did notice before gives Eijiro some mixed emotions since that seems to suggest Katsuki likes him regardless. Overall, he's just touched right now, at least that's what he's calling whatever's melting him from the inside out right now.

Bakugou just admitted Kirishima's his best friend. The natural brunette is tearing up just a little so it's probably good the blonde's not looking at him. But his voice is filled with some emotion that makes him a bit raspier anyway. ]

You're my best friend too, man. I don't know where I'd be here without you. I don't wanna know.

[ And this is entirely the reason why Bakugou can't look Kirishima in the face. He know exactly the expression that the other one would be wearing. Eyes wide and shining because of "manly tears" or some shit like that. Crooked grin. Probably will duck his head to hide his dumb happy smile. Gah. It's gross. So, so gross. His ears are going to burn from embarrassment. ]

Damn right I'm smart. [ Not THE smartest though. Maybe intuitive, but there are two that are probably "smarter." But he really doesn't see what the big issue here is? ] It's just just hair.

[ His eyes finally shift back over to Eijiro. Augh. The guy really has to say something so damn sappy? ]

Augh. That wasn't an invitation to be gross.

I know. You're right.

[ It is just hair, but it's part of the self-image he wants to see. Eijiro's not going to explain that to Katsuki, though - the dude can just roll out of bed, throw on a t-shirt, and look amazing, the asshole.

Calling his feelings gross gets a chuckle out of Kirishima because that's just so Bakugou, isn't it? If it's not rage, it's uncomfortable. Kirishima can be insightful too. He ducks his head, attempting to hide his silly little grin. ]

Sorry. [ He lifts a hand to thumb aside the tears. ] I just had to set the record straight. You wanted me to just let you say that and leave ya hangin'?

[ Okay but does he care too much about his physical appearance? Katsuki would argue that while he takes proper care of himself, he doesn't go out of his way to make himself appealing. He is who he is. Accept him or don't. ]

I didn't expect you to start getting on with the waterworks. Comment yeah, sure. You're dumb enough to do that.

[ He gives Eevee a few scritches. ]

Not cry though.

[machismost]

[ And Kirishima would argue that Katsuki doesn't have to care about his physical appearance; Katsuki is just effortlessly good-looking ( when he's not pulling some kind of weird face ). ]

I'm just happy, that's all.

[ And it's not like he's actively crying - it was just a couple of tears! His other hand has been petting Eevee, so when Bakugou pets her it puts their hands in brushing proximity. ]

I can get outta your hair. Let you two bond.

[ Why you paying attention that closely bro? ]

You're a fucking sap is what you are.

[ And it's hella embarrassing. Doesn't make much of the occasional brush of hands or fingertips though. It's pretty mild contact since Kirishima has a habit of throwing himself at the blonde. ]

Anyway, I think the damn thing already has.

[ Dude, who could miss that...?

But it's true enough that Katsuki might better be counting his lucky stars his friend hadn't thrown himself at him in a hug. The possibility of squishing the baby Eevee has served as much of a deterrent to extreme affection as she is a conduit for some circumstantial contact now. ]

Heyyy, don't talk to your best friend like that.

[ Kirishima grins, not meaning it at all. ]

So... should we try again for groceries?

[ Now that all of the excitement is over, the rest of the Pokémon start to disperse. They'll get their chance with the new baby once the thing is left to her own devices. That won't be any time soon though. At least that won't be today.

Right now though, Bakugou is glaring at the redhead. ]

I take back everything I said.

[ He goes to stand then, picking the Eevee up and soon tucking her under the arm. Probably should take her with so she's not swarmed. ]
