[Remember that blue haired chick that talks to people in an overly friendly way?
Even if you didn't, she's here on screen again--it looks like she's mixing something up in a bowl, at first doing it herself to show the little Phantump next to her, then passing the whisk over so it can continue.
The reason for this becomes apparent when Botan pushes the bowl away--there's an egg in her apron pocket and she needs her hands free to adjust the camera.]
Hello, all! Botan here with a proposition for anyone looking for a job: you can work for my shop at Honeyed Soul!
[Obviously it's the background of a kitchen where what looks like a Charizard is busy with toasting some buns.]
Killua is away on his League challenge and there's been a turnover as of late, so I'm always ready to take on new employees. "But Botan," you might say, "I can't even cook!"
Well, that's all right, I can only bake things myself, but you don't need to cook to work for the shop! There's tons of different ways to contribute--deliveries, taste testing, advertisements, maintenance--even taking care of the little ones around here if you want.
[The Little Ones meaning another Phantump wearing a bowtie that floats past, a clipboard in its stubby hands.]
Another thing I wanted to bring up is I'm ready to start taking requests for anyone that needs a Pokemon bred. I can provide a list of my Pokemon if you're interested in that, and if you're interested in a job, well...just talk to me! That's all, thank you.

[Oooh boy, he's being a little ballsy by posting this as a video, but Asriel likes how friendly this lady is, and it's cute to see her Pokemon helping out in the kitchen. Someone like that definitely cannot be a bad person, and...he might be okay. His Dad might not notice him on here.]
Why's it honeyed?
no subject
[As much as the narrative would usually point at this being a witch trying to lure people to her candy house, Botan's tone and expression is genuinely friendly. Kids are a special case for her, she's had several centuries of practice talking to children and death for them is usually sudden and frightening.]
Would you be interested in giving working for us a go, dear?
no subject
[He is even quite small for his age, Botan. It's really sweet.]
She's also too distracted by those little ghosts to pay attention to half of what Botan is saying.]
Oh, they're so cute!
Oh! You're the lady that handed out cookies at the festival!
[....yes. Admittedly, they haven't hung out much after that, Rakka leaving goldenrod and all. But she knew this woman - Botan? Yeah. She knew that she was friendly enough.]
no subject
Aren't they just? And Tomoe-chan here is very helpful to boot! [Ghosts can't blush, but the way Tomoe lowers her head further in feigned concentration suggests she's shy in addition to this.] Are you fond of ghosts, dear?
no subject
no subject
[You'd think that wouldn't be something she would remember off hand and yet she still recognizes Rakka.]
Did you enjoy them? I only had time to do regular vanilla and chocolate, so I fear they might have turned out plain.
[And since Botan doesn't eat them herself she honestly wouldn't know.]
no subject
[video]
...To be honest, he doesn't really remember baked goods, so probably he'll be leaving them. But.
But.]
Is that a dragon?
[That Charizard is the only truly important thing about this whole broadcast as far as he's concerned.]
video;
With the possibility of FREE FOOD?Count Frisk IN!]Um, I wanna help! Where do I gotta go, I can be superfast even not bein' wrong!
[...wait, shoot, she won't get that joke, will she.]

And, admittedly, Rakka worried sometimes that she looked so 'simple' that no one would recognize her in the first place. So this was good, already off to a good start.]
Oh well, don't worry about that. They were delicious! [Because nothing tastes better after defeat then chocolate.]

no subject
Whoa...that's it? I-Is it really okay if it's gotta be delivered?
no subject
[She's apparently referring to the Charizard in the background. This winged beast chuffs and tosses its head, of course it's not a big deal for me the expression says.]
no subject
[Tomoe's embarrassment at the hands of her trainer will never desist.]
There are several types around here to get accustomed to if you're still new to the world, however. Some of them even have type crossovers with Ghost types.
no subject
[The name sounds Japanese enough, an honorific seems appropriate.]
Were you interested in working at the shop?
no subject
[It's fine anyway, Shouen is busy breathing fire into a special stove for his baking purposes.]
That depends on who you ask, he's not a Dragon type, and dragons don't look like him in my culture, but--[she looks over her shoulder at the Charizard.] Shouen! Tell the man if you think you're a dragon or not!
[Snort. Shouen huffs, smoke clouds coming out of his nose in small puffs. What kind of question is that?]
He's undecided, you can draw your own conclusions.
no subject
Depends on what you want to do, dear! I wouldn't want to make you do something very laborious since you're so young, perhaps taste testing would be best? That way I can have the goods delivered to you, correspondence would be much simpler, wouldn't it?
no subject
Okay! Then, can I be a tester, please? And, if I can come to your shop sometime, can I still be a tester?
no subject
Bad. Ass.
[That's the highest compliment in his vocabulary.]
Where'd you get 'im?
no subject
But that's neither here nor there.]
Well, it sound interesting! [a slight pause] And, I have been working at the inn for a while...
[too long, perhaps.]
no subject
[As Manaka speaks, she leans aside and tilts her head, trying to make eye contact with Tomoe through the feed.]
Oh, right! The, um... The 'Gear said Charlotte is part fire-type, too. So I know that!
no subject
[People have to have a thing, it's how they live.]
If you don't want to bother with the travel time, though, I can get you an egg.
no subject
[She got it in one. How did she guess?
And oooooooh, man, would he ever like a dragon egg! Traveling far is out of the question for the time being.]
Can't leave Angel. How much for an egg?
no subject
no subject
[Not the first time she's run into people that can use magic, so her tone about it is actual.
Tomoe, for her part, knows that it's rude to just not look at people and shyly peeks up from her work.
The...the glaze is well and truly done anyway so she should stop whisking.]
Tomoe-chan here is part Grass, there's another ghost that's like that--it's called Pumpkaboo. Hikaru-kun is the name of mine.
no subject
no subject
How does free sound? I honestly don't like charging for my eggs if I can help it.
no subject
[Technically, she isn't supposed to tell anyone that. It seems pointless to keep is a secret now, though, even more than it did before. Manaka's smile broadens as Tomoe looks up, and she wiggles her fingers in a little wave before her eyes flit back to Botan.]
Oh! "Pumpkaboo" sounds so cute—I bet it looks really cute, too!
that was supposed to be *casual, good job me
Ahh, I see. We get all sorts of types here! I have a friend that was able to use ice magic back in her own world myself, as for me I served as a medium and fortune teller when needed.
[And as to the cuteness of a Pumpkaboo, Botan enthusiastically nods and turns her Gear over to what looks like a pumpkin with a bundle of fur on top of it. Little yellow eyes blink open and stare for a moment, broken up by a yawn with tiny pointy teeth. Booooo, says the little pumpkin.]
Hikaru-kun is indeed very cute, he's not much of a talker, though, and very nocturnal. I think this is unique to him. [She's just always proud of her babies.]
no subject
[He pulls his face away from its usual uncomfortable-for-the-viewer proximity to the device, blinking in surprise.]
Free is good, but what's the catch?
[Something for nothing is not how the universe works...as far as he's learned, anyway.]
no subject
So that's what she forgot to think about.]
I was interested in... [helping?]
no subject
[Botan help him he's subsisting on butterscotch candy don't let him do that.]
no subject
A catch?
Oh, right, the eye for an eye thing humans subscribe to. What's the catch? Hmmm...]
Well, as a Charmander yours will be a little small at first, and it won't have wings, but it'll get bigger. My catch is that you take good care of it and be patient.
no subject
[One thing even a kid knows is that the mail will never arrive in any orderly fashion. It's just a universal constant.]
Um, I think I can do that, though! It's really okay?
no subject
...That's seriously it? That's not much of a catch, because he'd do that anyway.
But if that's really all she wants in exchange then he's not gonna question it.]
The chicken was small at first, too! Mnahaha! Tiny and soft.
[His voice is a warm growl, about as at odds with his unsettling appearance as the sight of a Torchic sitting on his head. Or a Combusken peeking over his shoulder, because that is what is actually happening at the moment. It's always close by, and always eager to investigate when it hears itself being talked about. Murder Chicken blinks cutely at Botan and says hello with a soft "'busken!"]
It grew up fast.
it happens to the best of us!
Ah, he's adorable! Um, if he's a ghost, can you touch him? [Some of them seem more coporeal than others.] He looks fluffy!
