[Kazuki looks miserable on several levels. For one, he's obviously sick. It looks like he's caught whatever cold's been going around. He's in bed. His voice is all clogged up. He's also very red, either out of embarrassment or because he feels like shit.]

[Probably embarrassment, if what he has to say is any indication]

I... Just wanted to apologize. [He pauses to cough. A Furret's head come's into frame, holding a box of tissues in it's mouth. Kazuki takes one with a quiet 'thank you.' The Furret's flurry of stubby pawsteps can be heard hustling away.] I don't really know what was going on the other day... Some kind of network game? But I found the recent activity in my history, and...

[He flusters for a second. The taptaptaptap of Furret feet can be heard again. Maestra appears in frame again to drop a wet cloth on top of Kazuki's head. He thanks her, again, while rearranging it so it doesn't drape over half his face. She hurries away once more.]

I know it obviously wasn't me, but still... Tonks said some weird things. I promise I didn't teach him any of that. He's had his Gear privileges revoked for the foreseeable future.

[A watery wail can be heard off camera. Someone isn't pleased with this tragic turn of events.]

Oh, and-- Um, if you got giri-choco from me [And you did! If Kazuki even so much as knows who you are, you got some. He even sent a whole box of cupcakes to Dimitri, along with an explanation about how the Japanese tradition works, and an encouragement to share with all his friends, because Kazuki has no idea how many people are in his/Claude's troupe right now.] I promise I didn't touch it. Sticky and Montblanc took care of it this year. You won't get sick from it.

[He opens his mouth to maybe say something else, but he's cut off by Maestra dropping a whole quilt over his head. In his struggle to get out from under it, he turns the feed off.]

...you're sick, too? It seems like everyone has fallen ill. It is that time of year, I suppose, but I'm not used to people taking illness so lightly.

Again, I'm really sorry. I'm going to try and teach him some manners... But I honestly don't know if it'll take.

Yeah, um, I guess something's going around. What do you mean by 'lightly'? Can I ask?

What do you mean, can you ask? You just did.

Where I'm from, even a cold can easily lead to something worse, especially in winter. If someone catches influenza or pneumonia, there's a good chance they'll die and it will spread. But here, and in some other worlds, it seems that medicine is sufficient to relegate such things to mere nuisances requiring only a few days of rest to overcome.

Hey, don't feel like you have to apologize on my behalf! I actually had a lot of fun talking to Tonks. And while he might have embarrassed you being...extremely direct, his heart was definitely in the right place, wanting good things for you.

For instance, he encouraged us to come visit you again because he thought it'd make you happy! And I've got no reason to believe he was lying about that. I told him we'd be happy to. So maybe he took a few too many liberties, but I think good things have come out of some of them.

Anyway, most people seemed to be very aware it wasn't you saying any of the things he did. He wasn't even really hiding it. So his actions and words don't reflect upon you that closely.

[Blue was much more egregious - if not at all successful - at pretending to speak for his trainer.]

I know it was really obvious it wasn't me, but... I don't want to be a nuisance to anybody. I'm kind of... a lot, even just on my own.

A lot of...good things? Because unless that's what you mean, I've got no idea what you're talking about. Either you've got a whole other side of you I've never caught a single glimpse of, or you've got an incredibly restrained concept of what it means to be 'a lot'.

[You aren't having some kind of major psychological crisis every few weeks, Kazuki, do you have any idea how chill and low-maintenance you are from Claude's perspective - ]

[Lol, yes, compared to most Kazuki is very low maintenance! I definitely agree. But he's got some weird misconceptions about himself. For example:]

No, I mean. Um. I know I'm not a bad person or anything! Of course not. I just, uh... I don't want to be an imposition. Sometimes my feelings about things are too big.

I think you've got some pretty restrained ideas of what 'big' is, too. That, or that's another side of you I've yet to see.

I've seen nothing but an incredibly kind, giving person, who probably ought to be more of an imposition than he is because aside from help with your inn construction, you've barely asked anyone for anything that I've seen. You're more than entitled to share things with people and feel things acutely and ask for help, you know. Everyone is. My impression of you is of someone who's considerate of others maybe to a fault, where you're worried that any taking at all, instead of constantly giving, is somehow selfish.

I admit we haven't spent that much time together yet, so I could be off-base, but I'm usually pretty good at reading people.

Oh, never apologize for putting your face out there, Kazuki. Even if it was your Pokémon behind it. Haven't you enjoyed the compliments? You deserve all of them! [He means Kazuki's illness.] I do admit Tonks has awful taste when it comes to fashion, but I've also learned a new word from him, and your delicious chocolates made up for it as well. I just skimmed a little. That kind of stuff is too embarrassing. [It reminds him of the time he ended up on tv, basically without his consent, and all the unwanted attention gained from it.] Tonks just gets jealous of anyone whoever's trying to take the spotlight, because that's what he wants.

You've gotten Valentine's Day explained to you, right? In Japan, people give each other giri-choco if they're just friends. I think the word translates to something like "obligation." Like for your classsmates and coworkers and stuff.

Embarrassing? So I'm not allowed to repeat the line I used? I put so much thought into it! [Even Tonks liked it, and taking into account what Kazuki just explained, that's saying a lot! But okay, that last bit makes him laugh.] I cannot blame Tonks for having such ambition. Mayhap you could record him and put his videos up in Staryutube as well. That will get him all kinds of attention.

[And Jaskier knows all about means to attention...]

And Japan is the land you hail from, correct? But yes, I understand! It's friendship chocolate! My gratitude, Kazuki. They are delightfully scrumptious. You're an excellent baker! Or should that compliment be for your Pokémon?

Line? [Okay, he's kinda curious about that.] You're right, I should probably work together with him on that. Tho', I don't think any amount of attention will ever be enough for him...

Yeah, that's where I'm from. And Sticky and Montblanc deserve all the credit! Actually, I barely knew anything about cooking or baking before I caught Sticky, but he was so into the idea that I had to learn so we could work on it together. Now he's better at it than I am, and he taught Montblanc too.

Mm-mmh, line - and while I usually enjoy having the chance to recite my poetry as many times as humanly possible, something tells me you're asking because you're trying to avoid going there and reading the comments yourself. Have you seen a doctor yet? I noticed, yeah, many people were sick.

Um, no one was really mean either... [Kazuki was in the same boat, although he could barely skim over what people had said.] But it was really embarrassing. I'm not that kind of person, you know?

Not yet. If it gets worse, I will.

For real. I'm there with you. You kinda...can't really predict when that stuff happens and then it does.
