Day at the races!
Who: Everyone!
Where: Moo Moo Farms
When: Saturday, March 20th
Summary:
The day is as lovely as you can expect any early spring day to be. You'll need a coat, yes, and there is a bit of a breeze, but the sun shines happily onto the wooden buildings that make up the Moo Moo Farms where we have all gathered today.
The various farm workers have worked hard to make their farm presentable to the public. Cheerful banners hang between the various sheds, stables and barns, which all have been given a bit of a cleaning (and perhaps a new coat of paint here and there). Of course, it is still a farm, so perhaps don't wear your very best shoes, but as far as farms go, it's been made as neat as can be.
And while the main draws of the day may be releasing the Miltank herd out onto the pasture again after a long winter inside -- whimsically called 'Cow Ballet' on the info sign -- and the Great Tauros Race, Moo Moo Farms has set up various little events and booths to entertain their guests, and perhaps teach them a thing or two about farm life.
A large information sign stands at the gate to the farm, letting visitors know what sort of events are taking place, as well as where and when these are happening. The two big ones -- the Miltank Ballet and the Tauros Race -- are spaced in such a way that people can easily attend both, and most of the other little events are available throughout the entire day.
The Miltank Ballet will be taking place at 1PM over by the big barn. There is little you can do to participate in this (unless you are a cow?), but if you want to watch some ecstatic Miltank dance through the mud and grass after a long winter inside, you should definitely come check this out.
The Tauros Race will start at 4PM (sign ups close at 3PM) and anyone who wants to help give the Tauros a good round of exercise is encouraged and welcome to sign up. There is, according to the sign, a small mystery prize to be won, but surely we are all here because we want to help some cooped up Tauros, right?
In addition to those two big events, two paddocks have been made ready where visitors can test themselves against a Bucking Bronco -- that's his name, Bronco the Bouffalant -- to see how long they can last in the saddle. Due to safety concerns, participants for this event will need to be 16+. For the children, there is a separate rodeo in which they can ride Vaquero the Dubwool, who, for all his seemingly wild behaviour, is actually a very well trained Dubwool who'll make sure no harm comes to the kids.
Of course, while people are free to bring their own food, the Moo Moo Farms have also set up a wide variety of booths where people can buy anything from fresh Moo Moo Milk and milkshakes to freshly made cheese and bread, and oh, is that apple pie? That most certainly is apple pie, as well as various other homey pastries. And as the day goes on, and people might start craving something a little less sweet and more filling, a booth opens up selling various curries. Don't worry, there won't be any Snorlax you need to share with this time!
And for anyone who has found themselves wanting and craving a bovine of their own after all these cute sights, you are in luck! Amidst the various booths, there is also one run by two cheery farm girls, advertising a sale on eggs! All the eggs that are normally available from the Moo Moo Farms can be bought at a whopping 50% discount. Mind that this is only on the purchase price of the egg itself. The price for any additional egg-moves remains the same.
There are also some other, smaller things set up, such a station where you can learn about milking a Miltank and a barrel where you can bob for apples, and even a horseshoe toss game. Most of these are definitely aimed towards teaching and entertaining little kids, but nobody will stop you if you decide to muscle past a row of Youngsters to claim the apple bobbing barrel.

It's only because you let them get away with that crap. They know that they can get what they want out of you because you'll just cave and stutter and all that other weakling crap.
[ He huffs. Have some confidence in yourself dammit. ]
You would let them run all over you.
no subject
Izuku sighs, rubbing the side of his cheek with a finger.]
Well I mean...they are still pretty young, so I don't blame them too much for getting up to mischief. How do you usually handle yours?
no subject
[ Katsuki motions with his hand. Typh then comes close to Deku. Looks down at Thirteen. Then immediately takes to grooming the little thing. She might look rather big and imposing, but she's actually is very affectionate. Tends to mother everyone - human and Pokemon alike - and get protective. ]
I blame her talents on having to deal with that Machoke right from the start.
no subject
He looks up at Typh as she grooms him, the skull-mask part of his body the main surface that remains tangible for her to touch. The rest of him he's still learning to control the tangibility of. Cue Izuku's surprise when the little ghost actually lets up on his grip somewhat, and eventually pulls away altogether to hover a bit closer to Typh.
It's no surprise that having a Pokemon to look after him that isn't quite so small and young as Izuku's posse is helpful, meaning that Thirteen doesn't necessarily need Izuku to cling to for guidance. For now, anyway.]
Wow...that's so amazing. I should have expected as much, coming from a Pokemon you've been training.
no subject
You haven't seen her in battle. That's where shit gets impressive.
[ He looks over as she gives the little thing another little nudge. Stupidly gentle for her size and looks. Katsuki's just gotten used to it. ]
Everything else is just her being fussy. [ As if Katsuki isn't deep down, right? ] And you're gonna have to come down on yours too.
no subject
Izuku rubs the side of his neck where Thirteen's hands left him feeling cold, appreciative of Typh taking over the baby watching for him for the time being. Only time will tell as to how long that lasts, but still.]
I guess that's just something I'll have to get used to. I've never really had any pets before, but these guys aren't like pets at all...they're more like children.
[Or toddlers.]
no subject
They're definitely not pets. No one here treats them like that. "Children" or "Partners" is probably more appropriate.
no subject
He leans forward against the fence, his arms folded there now that they've been freed for the time being. Mirko, Izuku's Buneary, is hovering near Katsuki's ankles and watching him curiously. Shyly, almost.]
Mm...like how they're your partners in battle, right?
no subject
He looks down at Mirko, but doesn't really do anything about the curious glances. Not yet anyway. It's pretty harmless. ]
Obviously. You just now picking that up?
no subject
Izuku shakes his head a little, pressing his fingers to his lips.]
No, it's just that...
[He looks from Mighty to Typh, regarding their differences in size, age, overall strength...before turning his attention back to Katsuki.]
I want to get strong enough with my partners to be able to battle yours someday, Kacchan. I just hope they're not already too far behind.
no subject
Shit. If it's like that then I'll just catch some new ones and show you that I can beat you no matter what I got.
no subject
[Okay, that actually takes him by surprise. It shouldnt, not when that's such an extremely Katsuki thing for him to want to do, but still-]
W-wait, you don't have to do that!
[Mirko meanwhile jumps back when Katsuki moves away, skittering back over to Izuku so she can hide behind one of his legs.]
no subject
[ Scoffs. He's not going to talk about the details of OFA. Katsuki has made the statement before that Deku needs to make that power his own. Same thing here, really. ]
It's boring as hell.
no subject
Who's to say I won't catch up sooner than you think?
[Sure, his Pokemon are few in number and low in level, but...he just needs to catch a few more and focus on training them up, right? And if he can make strides as a hero faster than one reasonably should be expected to, then surely this can't be that hard...]
no subject
Haaa? That a challenge?
[ Is this new challenge going to be to see how long Bakugou can stay ahead of the other? ]
no subject
I guess it is.
[Izuku has plenty of new Pokemon to meet and routes to explore, after all.]
no subject
[ MAYBE THEY CAN GO RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW. ]
no subject
You don't need six Pokemon to battle, right?
[APPARENTLY THAT'S A YES oh no]
no subject
Sure as hell don't!
[ Look at him. Already grabbing for his balls - Pokeballs that is. ]
no subject
You're the highest level right now Mighty, so it's going to be up to you, okay?
[Mighty seems very excited about this development, especially since he already had a ton of energy to burn.]
no subject
No, you're got gonna trounce a baby. Geez!
[ Katsuki shoves at her muzzle a bit which ears a snort and a lick from her before Typh settles back down. ]
C'mon, Ribbons. Show this asshole who the superior one is!
[ Because you know this little pampered baby is all of 10 levels. Ah... ha... ]
no subject
Izuku's more than ready to battle with Katsuki, though he hopes that Mighty can coordinate his efforts with his trainer well. He seems so easily distracted sometimes that Izuku wonders...]
Alright! Which one of us goes first?
no subject
[ His little Eevee bounds over, jingling all the way. She's a sweetheart and a bundle of energy, but hey! When it comes down to it, she's all buisness.
So she'll start things off with a Quick Attack! ]
no subject
Time for Izuku to see if he can remember even half of the moves Mighty knows. Fortunately, at this low of a level and unevolved, there aren't too many.]
Uh-! Use Sand Attack!
[It's not an attacking move, but since he knows Katsuki will likely go on the all-offensive...maybe he can get her to start missing.]
no subject
Anyway. Quick Attack can't be stopped. So Ribbons does slam into Mighty before trotting to get some space. Sand Attack hits, of course and she starts to shake her head and rub at her eyes to dislodge the sand.
A good time for a follow up? If not she's going to swing her tail around for Tail Whip. ]
