do i have to battle a lot to get em back

There are, yes, but apart from Team Rocket, by and large the people native to this world are kinder and more altruistic than most.

And even Team Rocket... well, they're the local equivalent of the mob, I won't lie about that, but they don't seem to be *quite* as dangerous as the mob was back home. Certainly less likely to try to kill anyone, even if they'll rob you blind.

I mean that organized crime syndicates back home often killed people and Team Rocket doesn't seem to.
