001 - [Video | un: Uravity]
[It has been...a long few days for Ochako Uraraka. A long, long few days. After arriving in Newbark Town, like everyone else, she was given little to no information about, well...anything, and left to her devices. Like. Everyone else. Honestly, you'd think that there'd be an actual system put in place for all these newcomers or something. Like a Welcome Center, with information and helpful things to know. Hell, and some spare clothes...one single pair of pants and a t-shirt, alongside her pajamas, are not going to last a grueling journey like this, seriously. Thank goodness Ochako is as frugal as frugal comes. She can most certainly make her money last, and knows all the tricks to ration her food and take care of her belongings.
One of the few perks of being dirt poor.
The first day or two was spent mostly just acclimating to the new normal. Getting to know her Pokemon - a cute and very pink Cleffa, which Ochako finally decided on a name for...Parfait. It was cute and sweet, just like her little, meeping partner. Next in line was, uh...actually training up the little thing. It was weird thinking that this tiny, pudgy, pink cream puff could fight, but...then again, a lot of people underestimated her, and Ochako had one hell of a punch, and her high kick was, by Gunhead's standards, top shelf. So, after a few fumbled first battles (Ochako learned quickly that birds are jerks in this world), she eventually got the hang of it, hanging around the outskirts of Cherrygrove (in the early part of route 29 and 30 respectively), battling Pokemon and looking to expand her growing team.
And boy did she find one hell of a Pokemon to add. The video feed comes one with Ochako looking quite disheveled, her hair standing up in a few spots and a spattering of...some sort of food item on her cheek.]
Mmh... H-Hello, everyone, um. M-My name is Uraraka. U-Uraraka Ochako... [She tries to smooth her hair down, but to no avail.] I-I'm new here and. Ehh...
I-Is it normal for Poke...Pokey...Poker--...for your critters to refuse to eat? D-Do they have preferences? Because, um... [Ochako switches her Gear's camera to show off a very petulant looking Espurr, sitting on its butt on a stone with arms crossed, a little bowl in front of it floating around and smacking on the side of the rock every few seconds.] Th-This one won't accept anything I've given her. She's like a picky child...
[Ochako heaves a big, heavy sigh, shoulders drooping.] I don't want to waste all my food, but I don't want her to not eat, either!! Mmmaahh...Eclair-chaaan...please eat something. Maybe some water? At least a drink?

( because even if she's come to terms with the fact that her magic sucks, it's still part of her. after getting a taste of home again, she misses it once more. and she doesn't miss how ochako reacts... but she's not going to say anything. people will always think that. her powers aren't for good, kind worlds. but it's her.
instead she just laughs at eclair's offense, because adorable. )
Actually... Bakugou hasn't been that bad? Even if he might not have meant it, when I was really sick, he actually was able to distract me. Made me laugh, even. ... I'm not sure if he remembers it, but, still.

[Whoa, whoa, wait. Excuse me? WHAT?? There are times where powers and abilities, and...a-and her quirk will come back? Ochako holds her breath for a moment, trying to calm her racing heart. She has missed her quirk so much since she figured out it didn't work here. It was a part of her, what made Ochako able to become a hero. To become Uravity. Without her quirk, all her hopes are dreams of becoming a Pro Hero, or saving people and making them smile, of making enough money to let her mother and father live a peaceful, worry-free life without financial woes...
All that was gone. Snuffed in an instant. Even if for just a day or two...to have that back--]
Huh? O-Oh, ah, ehehe, sorry...I daydreamed there a little. Mm, I'm really glad you say that - he's not easy to get along with sometimes, but Bakugou-kun is a wonderful person and a really, really good friend. He's kind in his own way, and really reliable when you need him.
All my friends are, of course, but I think because of the way he acts out, Bakugou gets people to dislike him really quickly...before they get to know him and see how great he actually is. Knowing he has people here who can appreciate his good side makes me happy.

You're good. You're experiencing something you never thought you'd have to deal with. I hope if one of those times come, you'll be able to have a good time. ... I don't really feel whole without mine, either, so... I get it. Having something that's been there for almost your whole life suddenly gone is a harsh adjustment. So, uh- if you ever want to vent, you have my number now.
( ... anyways. )
I know some people like that. I think... if we just go from the very outer layer, we miss too much. Not everyone is a 'what you see is what you get' type deal, y'know?

Mm...yeah. That's exactly it, what you just said. I should feel happy I'm here with my friends and everyone, and making new friends, too, but...it's still a lot to process sometimes. I still have days where I expect to wake up in bed and go to class with everyone else, you know?
[Ochako takes a deep breath. Yeah. Moving on.]
Yeah, I think with someone like that, being patient and understanding is best...but also not to back down when they test you, too. [Because boooy can Bakugou test you.] But once you really see that deeper side to them, it's what makes it worth it, ehehe. Bakugou-kun is like that. I know he probably doesn't consider me a really good friend or anything, but I like him.
