001 - [Video | un: Uravity]
[It has been...a long few days for Ochako Uraraka. A long, long few days. After arriving in Newbark Town, like everyone else, she was given little to no information about, well...anything, and left to her devices. Like. Everyone else. Honestly, you'd think that there'd be an actual system put in place for all these newcomers or something. Like a Welcome Center, with information and helpful things to know. Hell, and some spare clothes...one single pair of pants and a t-shirt, alongside her pajamas, are not going to last a grueling journey like this, seriously. Thank goodness Ochako is as frugal as frugal comes. She can most certainly make her money last, and knows all the tricks to ration her food and take care of her belongings.
One of the few perks of being dirt poor.
The first day or two was spent mostly just acclimating to the new normal. Getting to know her Pokemon - a cute and very pink Cleffa, which Ochako finally decided on a name for...Parfait. It was cute and sweet, just like her little, meeping partner. Next in line was, uh...actually training up the little thing. It was weird thinking that this tiny, pudgy, pink cream puff could fight, but...then again, a lot of people underestimated her, and Ochako had one hell of a punch, and her high kick was, by Gunhead's standards, top shelf. So, after a few fumbled first battles (Ochako learned quickly that birds are jerks in this world), she eventually got the hang of it, hanging around the outskirts of Cherrygrove (in the early part of route 29 and 30 respectively), battling Pokemon and looking to expand her growing team.
And boy did she find one hell of a Pokemon to add. The video feed comes one with Ochako looking quite disheveled, her hair standing up in a few spots and a spattering of...some sort of food item on her cheek.]
Mmh... H-Hello, everyone, um. M-My name is Uraraka. U-Uraraka Ochako... [She tries to smooth her hair down, but to no avail.] I-I'm new here and. Ehh...
I-Is it normal for Poke...Pokey...Poker--...for your critters to refuse to eat? D-Do they have preferences? Because, um... [Ochako switches her Gear's camera to show off a very petulant looking Espurr, sitting on its butt on a stone with arms crossed, a little bowl in front of it floating around and smacking on the side of the rock every few seconds.] Th-This one won't accept anything I've given her. She's like a picky child...
[Ochako heaves a big, heavy sigh, shoulders drooping.] I don't want to waste all my food, but I don't want her to not eat, either!! Mmmaahh...Eclair-chaaan...please eat something. Maybe some water? At least a drink?

[Izuku's theme has always been heroes, and Froppy is one of the best that he knows. The little Sobble seems surprised to hear that...she's not very brave at all...
But with both Izuku and Ochako treating her so kindly, it looks like her tears are gone for the time being. She's still gripping Izuku tightly, but now she's calm. Finally.
Izuku sighs, his head hurting a little from all of that crying.]
I-I need to get better about remembering to look at the new Pokedex entries right away...

Still sniffling a bit, Ochako lightly pats Froppy on the head to soothe her even more. She really is a cutiepie, and Ochako has no doubt she'll eventually get big, strong, and extremely brave. Izuku is a great friend, and surely a wonderful Trainer, too!! He's taken care of all his friends (human and Pokemon) for as long as Ochako can remember.]
Th-That might have helped... [Like also putting Froppy back into her ball might have helped, too, but. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯] B-But we sorted it out together, Deku-kun!! We did it!

[Of course now he knows what to look out for. He's, uh...going to have to be VERY CAREFUL in the future not to set her off...
For now though, he'll hold his arm out so she can climb up it to his shoulder, nestling in the crook of his neck where it's safe.]
Sorry...about all of that, by the way.

[Ochako clears her throat a little, feeling a tiny blush form on her cheeks, then turns back to her own Pokemon, who are both passed out in a heap on top of each other. Slightly bruised and beat up. UM?? Y'ALL???]
...Eh? Eeeeeh?? Wh-What happened to you two?! I only had my back turned a few minutes!! [A-At least Ochako doesn't have to worry about feeding Eclair now... Both her Pokemon need to go to the Pokemon Center, they tuckered each other out wrestling.
Parfait the hero, died in the line of duty. RIP.]no subject
Did...did they battle while we were dealing with Froppy?

[BIG SIGH. Ochako takes out their respective balls and returns each of the passed out Pokemon - yes, even Parfait. Best to keep her in there to rest until she's looked at by Nurse Joy.]
I'm so sorry, Deku-kun, you came all this way for nothing... Now I have to take them both to the Mokepon [Closer.] Center. Let me treat you to lunch after I get them patched up, ne? To at least make your time worth it.

Don't worry about it! Pokemon kindof just...like to battle, a lot. You end up getting used to it after a while...I imagine they probably just got restless.
[OH WELL...one crisis averted, at least. Izuku doesn't know how much he truly owes Parfait, right now.]
I'd like that, though! There are a lot of good cafes to eat at in Johto, and all of them are Pokemon friendly.

[Bratty. It's okay to say bratty.
But a crisis averted for Izuku indeed, because who knows what sort of thing Eclair could do to him if he tried to approach and feed her. Dear god, Parfait truly saved him from a grizzly fate indeed. Dusting herself off, and tidying up the area as best she ca, Ochako gathers her things and shoulders her bag to start heading back with her friend.]
Oh, that's wonderful!! After I get these two fixed up, let's go someplace nice together, okay? [S-Someplace cheap...cough.] You can tell me how your doing, and the things you've seen on your own journey, Deku-kun!
[And off they go!]
